Author has written 2 stories for NCIS.
I am new to the world of fanfic, but I am hooked. Between my love of writing (and for reading good writing) and my love of NCIS, I have found this wonderful little place where I can indulge my imagination, and for that I am grateful to many of you here. Your stories make me smile in so many ways.
As of the time I am introducing myself here (Feb '12), I have not written creatively in a very long time. As a teenager I had aspirations of being a novelist "when I grew up." But life took a different turn, and the ensuing realism (or maybe cynicism?) ultimately smothered my creative streak. Now, years later, discovering this site has given me an outlet and some inspiration to flex my brain after what feels like a very long nap of my imagination. It's refreshing. So I intend to dabble as inspiration strikes, simply enjoying where it may lead.
I'm a huge NCIS fan and a big fan of the DiNozzo-David dynamic. They are complicated, sometimes messy, and just plain hot, and their chemistry is oh so fun.
I finally kicked out a couple of one-shots earlier this year, and it made me realize how much I miss writing. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read and review my first drabbles. The encouragement is invaluable. I've started a longer, more thorough story to launch T/Z from somewhere around 9x18 and then detouring down an alternate storyline. I'm taking my time with it, kind of feeling it out and exploring the possible scenarios. I may just be a fan writing fiction-based fiction for fun, but keeping the characters tethered to some element of their own reality, even with my own personal interpretation and spin, is very important to me. Plus my creative juices are only just beginning to trickle, so I don't think I would be happy with the result if I forced out a rushed story. But I've written out a few sequences/chapters now, plus more bits and snippets here and there, and I feel like a storyline is slowly starting to form. And I'm having fun with it! Fingers crossed.
