Author has written 4 stories for Legend of Dragoon.
I like stories with well-developed, believable characters, who, in terms of fanfiction, fit into the story sensibly or follow the original concept of the game, tv show, movie, book, etc. I wholeheartedly believe that stories are best when the action is driven by character motivation and interaction, but I won't shy away from a good action story, either. I will read stories with OCs in them, but stories whose OCs totally mess up the flow of the original concept are, IMO, verifiable crap, and I will quickly stop reading them once that happens (unless, of course, the story's author happens to possess incredible prose-writing skill).
I prefer dramas and adventure stories, but it doesn't mean I won't read a humor or romance. Some of my all-time favorites are angst-y stories where no one has a happy ending. All-in-all, though, as long as the story is well-written, with a good balance of dialogue, backstory and narration, I'll probably read it. What the heck, I read everything, lol ...
In terms of my personal interests, I've discovered this site in my quest to revive the timeless gem that is Legend of Dragoon. I've been intrigued by the storyline since the game came out, and since then I've probably played it through at least a dozen times. I just don't get sick of it!! And, because the original plot leaves so many questions unanswered and leaves the door wide open for interpretation and further detail, it's the perfect backdrop for fanfics. Let the writing commence!
And yes, sadly, my avatar is a drawing of me as the Blue Sea Dragoon. Sorta. ... Don't hate me cuz I'm awesome.
I've written 4 stories for Legend of Dragoon (thus far, many more to come, haha):
1) In the Beforetime - This story is actually a series of oneshots that detail the events in each of the dragoons' lives which fuels their Dragon Knight.
2) Summer's Rain - A story revolving around the death of Lavitz and an original character I created named Summer Chelton, who has to carry on without him.
3) Age of Sorrow - A terribly long epic describing the events of the Dragon Campaign, as the original seven dragoons saw them. Right now it consists of about eight different POVs (a no-no in real literature, I know, but it sounded like a good idea at the time). I've tried to make it as accurate as possible to the original game, but that left several holes that needed to be filled for my plot to work (namely, renaming Deningrad and creating some minor characters). Please don't hate me for my imagination. For some reason, I also thought it would be fun to put the chapter names in Latin, though, I realized later, those of us who can speak Latin are a strong minority. So I've included translation in parentheses on chapter titles.
4) For Love Alone - Just a crappy oneshot about Nello and Princess Lisa.
