Author has written 13 stories for Flashpoint, Power Rangers, and Veronica Mars.
Hey everyone! I have recently gotten into writing some pieces for some of the shows, or fandoms, or whatever they're called, I'm obsessed with. These include, but are not limited to: Buffy, Castle, Flashpoint, Might Morphn' Power Rangers, T: SCC, Firefly, Dollhouse, Harry Potter, The X-Files, and. . . there are other shows, books, and movies that quite possibly exist in "fandom," but I can't think of them right now and also, quite frankly, don't absolutely know what constitutes a fandom. . . Whatever. (I'm pretty sure GWTW and War and Peace should NOT exist in current "fandom").
Concerning my writing, people should be well warned that I tend to be an insufferable wise-ass (both in actual speech and writing), that I tend to intersperse "big words" with colloquialisms and (American) slang, and that I use grammatical punctuation marks both freely and CORRECTLY (I'm an advocate of only using semi-colons correctly and when they are warranted for speech-flow purposes). My spelling tends to suck, and I freely admit to that fact.
I used to collaborate with Sules a lot. I was her editor, and I offered creative suggestions on her work. We once decided to give ourselves a name: SWAT, which variably stands for So, Writing's Awesome Tandem, Seriously Writing's Awesome Tandem, and once Sules even suggested Samtastic Writing's Awesome Tandem because she was writing so much Sam Jules stuff. I told her she had a "JAM" in her brain. . . So anyway, check out Sules' and Sules-KateEals' Flashpoint stuff.
For those wondering, I just re-read Glasgow and (the 2 chapters I actually wrote of) The Crown vs. Edward Lane. I'm thinking I might start that up again...I also found some notes on Sean-Jules conversations for Defying Precedent, and, Damn I miss Sean-Jules stuff. And I just had to write a graduation speech for my Academy class as the "Class Speaker" and it made me think about how much I miss writing. Why a counselor needs to go to the CO Academy is like asking what's the meaning of life. As I repeatedly said, "I'm just here to talk about feelings."
So, having gotten back in the game, I started re-watching a few episodes of Flashpoint to reacquaint myself with the characters and I've decided my favorite part about the show is how Jules never gives a crap whenever she has to kill someone. Ed's running around all PTSD about killing people all the time and Jules is just like, "Eff that noise. I'm a Power Ranger." Brilliant, Flashpoint writers. Absolutely brilliant.
And guess who finally took Jason David Frank's advice and updated my life by getting a smart phone (albeit a couple or years later...)! Damn, I should have gotten my nice, benefits filled state job sooner so I could actually afford one.
PS: Double parentheses make me laugh and my writing unique. (I have no shame with that. . . )
