Author has written 16 stories for Death Note, Sherlock, and Radio Dramas.
Name: Xinde is my Chinese name. I would type it here in Chinese, but it keeps disappearing. It's pronounced like sheen-duh. Oh, don’t bother.
Profile pic: Q mug! Drinking Earl Grey from my Q mug is the highlight of my day.
Age: too old to be on this site, too young to care.
Gender: Well, take a guess.
I'm also on AO3, under the same username. Not all my works are over there yet, nor will all of them ever be. I'm not quite sure about this managing two sites at once thing yet. But take a look at AO3 in general - amazing stuff there. Especially their James Bond, Sherlock, Bondlock...definitely more of a Western slant than FFN. Very good stuff. Very.
Manga/Anime fandoms and pairings:
Death Note: OTP* Matt/Mello, L/Light, Mello/Near, Gevanni/Near, Matt/Mello/Near (Tierfal is the best at this), Namikawa/Mido (surprisingly, there are about 5 really good ones for this)
Bakuman: Shujin/Saiko; Yamahisa/Shizuka; Kosugi/Nanamine; Fukuda/Yujiro
Fullmetal Alchemist: RoyEd, RoyHughes
Naruto: SasoDei, NaruSasu, ShikaTem, Zabuza/Haku, KakaIru, Naruto/Gaara (d'awww), Suigetsu/Juugo (I know, wtf), okay fine I guess I'll do the rest of the Akatsuki ships - KakuHida, KisaIta, NO Tobi/Zetsu, especially not in light of Tobi's newly-revealed and long-expected identity. NO Pein/Konan, I think they're really above that stuff.
No. 6: NezuShi
Shows/Movies fandoms and pairings
Harry Potter: Drarry, Snarry (At first I was kind of squicked by various aspects, the good-'evil' pairing, until I realized Harry has a dark side, too, and that a normal, happy, sane, good person couldn't possibly handle him long-term. Then Draco and Snape come into the picture, and woah, here we have messed-up lives at their finest, although the cross-generational thing with Snape got me for a while, but I overcame that too, and all was well.)
Artemis Fowl: Artemis/Holly? Although it really doesn't work beyond a platonic level. Like, they can kiss a bit. But it doesn't get any heavier. Because that's just not how they work. They're a team, a partnership.
Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit: Bagginshield and nothing else really. LOTR weirdly doesn't seem very shippy to me. It's probably to do with how good and noble everyone is.
Sherlock: OTP* JOHNLOCK, Mystrade, Lestrolly, MorMor, Sheriarty on cloudy days
James Bond (Craig movies, mostly Skyfall): 00Q (and then this makes for excellent Bondlock with Q as the youngest Holmes :D)
Avengers (movies): I don't actually read much fic for this, but I guess Steve/Agent Phil Coulson? I need to rewatch the movies and fall in love with everyone again (well, everyone BESIDES Loki, who already holds the darkest part of my heart).
Death Note Stories!!! (in alphabetical order)
Cherry on Top: L/Light, bedtime argument, not what you expected - enough said. Complete.
Cinderella: L/Light/L, based on the fairytale, starring Beyond as the evil stepmother and Ryuk as a professional stylist. It's not as cracky as it sounds; humor and seriousness in equal parts. Complete.
Cracks in the Mirror: Collection of humorous instances, all pairings and characters. I'd point you to Misa's Spelling Lessons and Holy Virgin first, but they're all somewhat snicker-worthy. This gets updated whenever I feel like it, which is not frequently, lately.
Dear Admissions Committee: Real college essay prompts, written in the character of nine of our favorite faces. As such, they contain serious content that will make you use your brain - with exceptions, of course *cough Mello cough* My personal favorites were Beyond, L, and Light's. Complete.
Liebestraum: Franz Liszt's beautiful piece for solo piano is the soundtrack to this piece, but you don't have to be a classical music aficionado to like it. Light meets an unexpected person in an unexpected place. Really, it's the whole escape-from-boredom thing that most non-Kira AUs employ. But the sex is good! (I think...hehe maybe not.) This may be continued in the future. That's a strong *may* be.
Psychopath: Thinking Outside the Box: Oneshot, Wammy's era, A assesses B's mental condition via the popularized psychopath test and unwittingly sets the scene for his own death. Darkly humorous, not for the self-righteous. Complete.
Rest in Peace: Comprises two unrelated chapters of minimalistic, deathbed Light cogitating and spiritualizing. Complete.
Sacrilege: Matt and Mello do more than have sex in a cemetery. Matt-centric, lots of angsting about dying and Kira and shit. Complete.
Sleepwalking: Post-series, Linda looks at a portrait of Light through an artist's eyes. Kind of off the beaten track of the Death Note fandom, but worth it all the same. Complete.
Sleep Disorders: L/Light, true crack, more bedtime arguing, but there is a plot and everything. Post-Higuchi Kira case, Rem involved. Who knew I could write two thousand plus words on a pun? Complete.
Snow White: Mello/Near, another fairytale idea. Near = Snow White, Mello = prince, Light = evil stepmother. Got rather out of hand, I'm stuck at the part where Near is supposed to go to the seven dwarves. Most likely discontinued.
Stardust: Near remembers the ones who left him behind. Death day fic. Sad. Complete.
That Is the Question: Matt/Mello/Matt. Long story short: what was twenty years of life without knowing each other like for the two? Matt isn't suicidal, but he is more than a little unhealthily okay with his own death. Mello clings to life with a contrasting tenacity that may just bring Matt back from the edge. Complete!
Wild Nights: Interlude between chapter 5 and 6 of That Is the Question. There's nothing to be missed if you don't read it except some obligatory smut and feelings. Complete.
Wedding Rings: Sherlock wearing a mood ring, that is all.
I used to have one on here called The Last Word, a kind-of-not-really crossover with Skyfall applying 007's word associations to John after The Fall, but its reception was so appallingly poor that I took it down. If you want to read it, I can send it to you (I thought it was ok, ok? But clearly it wasn't).
Quantum Mechanics at Forty Thousand Feet: The MJN crew discuss Schrodinger's cat. Really, what else can I say?
I am a great fan of Constructive Criticism. No, that is not an FFN author or story, it is something YOU as a reader can give to ME. Why should you give that to me? Well, consider this: I wrote these stories with the intent of making YOU happy. And myself to some extent, but for some reason I struggle to write anything that is not crack humor or rambly philosophy, i.e. romance and sentiment, which is 99.9% of this site. (now that I've checked, the statistic for Death Note is closer to 50%, but that's not counting all the unclassified fics and the romance-y ones that hide behind names like angst and humor [ok, CUT mini-rant]). So uh... if you're still following this train of thought, please REVIEW, criticize CONSTRUCTIVELY, and make me HAPPY. Because hopefully I made you happy? Or at least not sad...
And I guess you can flame, too, if you like. Just 'cause I figure if you find my story so disagreeable, you probably won't have much in the way of constructive criticism anyways. And I would admire you for having a strong enough stomach to read a fic you think is icky but still managed to review. ... Besides, I could never write something so horrible that someone would want to flame ... could I? D:
What else is supposed to be on this profile thingie?
I like to read and write? You could not have seen that coming. Well, I like to write more than just fanfiction. I actually prefer personal essays and memoirs. I also play flute. (How is it possible for this paragraph to be this incoherent?) But none of my fanfiction characters will ever play flute, or any instrument, because that would be projecting too much of me onto them. I also like to make origami, thanks to Konan from Naruto.
Well, in high school, I kept a pretty regular diary, and on occasion it was actually filled with some illuminating stuff. The rest of the time it was occupied with yammering about some stupid boy, lol. And I do some creative writing, but none of it is really suited to the readership of this site. So, hehe.
Aha! Speaking of angsting about stupid boys, I'm bisexual. But I might as well be asexual.
I think that still doesn’t say much about me. Bumbumbum. I make weird sounds when there are elephants in the room. You know, just to fill the silence. And possibly woo the elephant over so that he'll be nice to me and everyone else will go away.
Hm, it occurred to me to say that I'm an introvert. It may be that I am more hyper online than IRL. Isn't everyone?
