"When we are told in dozens of insidious ways that our lives don't matter, we may be forced to insist, often far to loudly, that they do. A Creative writing class may be the one place you can go where your life matters." -Richard Hugo, Poet
It is Human nature to put up a strong front. It acts as a wall. A steel wall. The words that hurt, that pain and kill, cannot pennetrate it. That is why we behave strong. Only, this metaphorical steel wall is just that. Metaphorical. We pretend words don't hurt. But they do. The person typing those hateful cluster of letters can only see that the message has been sent. They cannot see what they cause. If they could, what would they see? Would seeing that person, curled up on the floor of their bathroom crying, give them the satisfaction they wanted from sending that message. I wonder.
It takes a person of courage and true moral to be kind. To show the person that the world is better than barbarians using hateful words as their weapon. Help. Do not critisize and hurt. Review and Help. Because if the world was filled with Steel walls;
It would be an awefully lonely place.
