Author has written 24 stories for Doctor Who, and Professor Layton.

Hi, folks! Call me Nikki.

I'm a 19 year old lass, who was born in Scotland and I lived there until I was seven and then moved to England. Nevertheless, I still have a Scottish accent. I have red, frizzy hair, long legs and tiny baby-sized hands. I have three elder brothers who drive me mad and I also have three younger half-siblings who also drive me mad. I like to wear patterned socks and denim skirts and often wear bandannas or headscarves in my hair. I used to wear lots of eyeliner, but my student life prevents me from doing so (budget-wise) nowadays, but I wear a lot of nail varnish and jewellery. My friends like to point out a lot that I'm a very chatty person and I appear to be just as chatty here as I am in real life, so apologies if I ever tell a super long boring story in an author's note or PM.

I'm a big fan of theatre and performing arts and I'm currently studying for a degree in Acting and Performance. I also play the piano, guitar, flute and violin, dance in a contemporary style and sing with a baritone range. I really like the playwrights Simon Stephens, Samuel Beckett and Anton Chekhov and I have been known to talk about Stanislavski Methods for up to an hour and a half in a very appreciative tone.

I also really like poetry, especially Kate Tempest and Carol Ann Duffy. Neil Gaimon is probably my favourite author. Music wise, I like Florence and the Machine, Paloma Faith, Santigold, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Daughter, Foster The People, Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey, The Prodigy, The Arctic Monkeys, Bat For Lashes and Arcade Fire. I don't know why I needed to include so many artists, but I can't choose which ones I like the most. (I have a pretty long journey to uni every morning and that time is spent with headphones in.) I also really like musicals. Chicago, Moulin Rouge and Sweeney Todd are among my favourites.

I don't tend to watch much TV or Film because I haven't actually owned a TV for a year and just use my brother's netflix account, but I really like Orange is The New Black, Sherlock, Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes, House, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, Peaky Blinders and Absolutely Fabulous. I like a lot of Wes Anderson, Steven Spielberg and Baz Lurhmann films. I also like a lot of documentaries, particularly Louis Theroux ones.

My favourite actors are Mark Rylance, Kate Winslet, Suranne Jones and Danielle Brooks. (I saw her in The Color Purple in February, and she was breath taking. Plus, season 4 of OITNB... Wow.)

My boyfriend tried to get me into anime, but so far the only ones I've been remotely interested in are Dangranronpa, Tokyo Ghoul and Sword Art Online.

I've always loved storytelling, which is probably why I'm currently doing a degree in acting and performance, and I had so many ideas when I was younger that related to my favourite shows, books and games, that I started to write fanfiction! Most of these have all been deleted now, but I'm still here writing for Professor Layton- those stories seemed to have stayed with me a long time, which is odd because I don't really play any other video games. It's unlikely that I'll write for fandoms other than Professor Layton, but I'm not ruling it out. I may do a few crossovers... Maybe.

My degree tends to take up a lot of time throughout the year, but I still pop up over here every now and then.

I'm not a particularly big fan of video games, so it surprises me that I like Professor Layton as much as I do. My dad bought Pandora's Box (Diabolical Box if you're American) when I was about twelve to try and help with my math skills, because I really struggle mathematically and he'd seen the game advertised on TV as a puzzle game. He tried to play it with me so to help me with the puzzles, but neither does he like video games and so he got the eldest of my three brothers (who coincidentally now has a degree in maths and a masters in finances and now works for a bank dealing with NUMBERS and NUMBER PROBLEMS every day) to help me with it, but he found the storyline super interesting and so we googled the answers to all of the puzzles just so we could find out that Folsense was a lie. My brother then bought me the first Professor Layton game, Curious Village, for Christmas, (so yeah, I sort of played them in the wrong order, so I sort of knew who Flora was which kinda ruined it a little bit) but then he went away to university so I played it on my own, again using google to tell me the answers to the puzzles. Either way, the games stuck with me and whenever a new one came out, it would be at the top my list for birthday and Christmas presents!

I recently completed Azran Legacy (I didn't have a 3DS so couldn't continue after Spectre's Call) and I am proud to say that I googled no answers, however I did have to use a lot of hint coins.

I'm not sure why the games connected with me so much. I honestly can't say. I like the stories, the music and the other-worldly adventure sense in the game. It's like watching a film, but being more involved. And as an actor, I guess that's what I like the most.

I'm a big LaytonXClaire shipper and I also think Claire's pretty badass, too. Also, she's a scientist like both my parents. I like to think I would like the character Flora very much, however I don't find her character explored as much as the others in the games. Hence, I do quite like a good Flora fic and please recommend them to me if you find a good one. I also try to write as many as possible. I also super-duper love LaytonXClaire fics and I even made an OC so they could have a daughter, because Layton deserves it (okay, so he has Katrielle now, but I made up Lilly like four years ago so Lilly was here first, alright?). Most of my fics will be orientated around Layton, Claire and Flora hence these reasons. Lost Future is also my favourite game, so I may write a few Lost Future AUs and one-shots.

Also, I'm not sure why, but when watching Eternal Diva, I started shipping Janice and Melina. I don't fully know why I did so, maybe it was my bisexualness coming through, but I could just see it. I like to write fics about them, but I do find it a little hard sometimes, which upsets me, but I hope to write a lot more about them in the future.

Ships I ship like Fedex: LaytonXClaire, LukeXFlora, JaniceXMelina, AlfendiXLucy, AriannaXCrow and AntonXSophia

Ships I do not ship (NOTPS): EmmyXLayton, CliveXFlora and any ships I haven't mentioned I don't give enough thought to to ship or not ship.

Characters I LOVE (well thought through/written, with a good back story, and a GOOD character): Claire, Emmy, Katia, Sophia, Layton, Alfendi, Melina, Janice and Arianna.

Characters I LOVE to HATE (Bad characters, or characters that I think are bad, but are well thought through/written, with a good back story): Clive, Dimitri, Bill Hawks, Don Paolo, Descole, Leon Bronev and Randall.

Characters I genuinely think are stupid: Angela and Henry (why did they need to marry? Like, it's not obligatory for EVERY woman to get married so I don't get how Henry was 'saving' her for Randall, or whatever? Like, they must have had feelings for each other. And I'd be 100% cool with that if they admitted. In fact, if they did, I'd probably like them.) Augustus Reinhold (Like, did he not think about the trillions of downsides that there are to building a village for his daughter to grow up in. It's more isolating than keeping her safe, y'know? Or is it just me? Like it makes for Flora to have a fab back story, but you know, it's just a completely unjustified decision to make. For you to have to do it, you've got to be either clinically insane or have some sort of severe paranoia.) Rachel Bronev. (I don't fully understand why she didn't make an effort to try and bring her family back together. On her death bed, she says that she wishes she could have seen her sons again, but she doesn't appear worried for their safety or concerned at all about where they might be. Like, surely she'd be worried Targent had them, or they were wandering the streets, or goodness knows what. She doesn't ask her husband to find the boys, but instead to keep working on his Azran research. Like, surely finding the boys and ensuring their safety would be top priority even if she's dying.)

Characters I wish I could say I loved but level 5 didn't tell us enough about 'em: Flora, Lucy, ALL of The Black Ravens, Lucille and Roland Layton, Amelia, Barton, Rosa, Clark and Brenda and Rosetta.

Characters I find average, cliche or just a bit boring and don't give much thought to: Luke, Inspector Chelmey, Inpector Grosky, Oswald Whistler, Aurora, Andrew Schrader, Dean Delmona, Beluga, Alphonse, Leonard Bloom, Raymond, and any others I can't think of right now.

Oh, another thing I should mention: Don't expect much comedy from me. I like nitty-gritty dark, angsty and sometimes even psychopathy stories. Much more fun to write.

My stories:

My stories currently in progress are Spirits, 100 Snapshots of Their Lost Future and Lillyesque

My stories currently on hiatus are Never Tear Us Apart and Spectrum.

After Spirits is complete, I will continue with Never Tear Us Apart.

Once 100 Snapshots is complete, I will continue with Spectrum. (Or if Never Tear Us Apart is finished first, it will be continued then.)

Lillyesque is ongoing.

I also have a few ideas rattling around my head right now:

1) A collection of one-shots about each of the character's thoughts before they die.

2) Maybe a sequel to Spirits, so I can make it a trilogy... But I don't have a full idea formed in my head yet, so I'm not making any promises.

3) A multi-chapter mystery and crime fic where Lucy is kidnapped and Alfendi has to save her.

4) A multi-chapter L/UF AU where journalist Clive Dove brings corrupt politician Bill Hawkes down.

I don't really like to be working on many stories at a time and once all the ones that are currently published but have yet to be finished are complete, I think I will stick to writing one fic at a time. plus Lillyesque of course as it's an ongoing fic. And a one-shot every now and then.

I've decided to try this new system where I update on the same day every week. Updates are as follows:

Spirits- Tuesday

Lillyesque- Wednesday

A Hundred Snapshots of Their Lost Future- Thursday

A new one-shot- One of the weekend days. Whether it be Friday, Saturday or Sunday!

Please note that I may skip the occasional update if work gets on top of me or some annoying person in my life has a birthday and invites me to go for drinks with them.

Please note that with the exception of some characters, I do not own the basis of the works that I post on this website. They are works of fanfiction and based and inspired off of the works of others.

Reviews are even more fab-u-lous than moi.
