Author has written 7 stories for D.Gray-Man, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Vocaloid.
name... well you can call me Marinne, and I speak English (like you already notice), Spanish (my mother tongue), French (for survivors), and a little bit of German
country... I'm from Mexico, I didn't want to put it before, but then again I'm proud of my nationality so yeah I'm from Mexico and even though there are rumors about us living in desserts and riding donkeys and horses to move from place to place, there are cities that are pretty much like some cities in USA
occupation... I'm a student, and also a writer at Fanfiction, though in summer I work to earn money.
how I am?... hmm... kind of difficult to tell, hmm... well I'm kind of bipolar, sometimes I'm happy and suddenly I'm all serious. Sometimes I get mad pretty easily, but then I can get all happy (bipolar, remember?) I have a very low self esteem and I'm very timid, but I have friends and family and all of my readers that made feel appreciated and that makes very happy, leading to my cheerful personality. Sometimes I can be creepy, because I love scaring people. However I get scared easily, when watching horror movies.
what do I like?...
Music and books, those are my life. I love swimming and writing, that's why I chose to write Fanfictions, and also Anime & Manga
Painting was once one of my hobbies, but I stopped doing it a long time ago, however I'm planning on starting again.
I adore baking and decorating cakes (I once made a cake for my sister's B-Day of Happy from Fairy Tail) I love my grandmother's bakery, and she actually teaches me how to make them.
I have a sweet tooth regarding candies and chocolates, my favorites are chocolates with caramel filling. But spicy candies are delicious, like those mango popsicles with chili on top. I love ice smoothies, even in winter.
I enjoy parties very much and also going out with my friends, mainly to the movies.
what do I hate?... when talking about food (I'm hungry right now, so don't judge me) I hate fish and vegetables, though if there's no choice I'll eat cause is either that or starving and I don't like being rude.
I don't like wearing skirts and dresses, but if I have to wear them, I do. I prefer Converse, Vans and boots (but no Uggs, those are slippers not shoes.)
I don't hate One Direction, but I also don't like them that much, as well as Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, but mainly because I know people that are crazy about them, that talked and talked, and talked about them so much that I just can't stand them. And there's also Taylor Swift, in my opinion her songs are practically the same theme (girl abandoned by her boyfriend) However I have to admit that their music is nice, and I do have a few songs from them.
favorite music... I love every kind of music but top 5 will be:
1. 30 Seconds to Mars
2. Lady Gaga
5. Marina & The Diamonds
and then followed by bands and singers like Tantric, Eminem, Thousand Foot Krutch, Rihanna, Ke$ha, Skillet, My Chemical Romance, Katy Perry, The Offspring, Green Day, Muse, Sia, Breaking Benjamin, and more...
I like music in all languages, even if people sometimes call it weird... I like SID, Vocaloid, Kylee (these 3 in Japanese) Rammstein, Cro (both German), Stromae (Belgian) and I also like instrumental music like Lindsey Stirling, and the movies' soundtracks.
my favorite books... I really like reading, it's one of my favorite hobbies, and my favorite ones, which I would really invite you guys to read, are:
El Libro de los Heroes by Antonio Malpica (this is a series and only 3 are out and are in Spanish :I)
My Sister Leaves on the Mantlepiece by Annabel Pitcher
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
La Mecanique du Coeur by Mathias Malzieu
Howl's Moving Castle Series by Diana Wynne Jones
Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children Series by Ransom Riggs
The Horse and his Boy (from the Chronicles of Narnia) by C.S. Lewis
And there's also Ghost Girl by Tonya Hurley, Cirque Du Freak by Darren Shan, The Host & Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer, The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flammel by Michael Scott, The Lord Thief by Cornelia Funke, El Conde de Montecristo and many more...
Some classics or old books that I relay liked and recommend:
Antigone by Sophocles
Macbeth & Hamlet by Sir William Shakespeare
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger
Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
my favorite TV shows...
The Walking Dead
American Horror Story
Recently I began watching some new series (thank God my Dad finally agreed to get Netflix) like Daredevil, The Flash, Scream and they are pretty cool
my favorite movies...
1. Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant
2. Now You See Me
5. Nosotros Los Nobles
6. The Imitation Game
7. Star Wars
And then there's also Taken, Titanic, Now You See Me, Avatar, Jeux D'enfants (Love Me If You Dare), Cellular, Rise of the Guardians, Pitch Perfect, Kingsman, etc...
And the anime movies...
Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Whisper of the Heart, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Princess Mononoke, Bleach The Movie 4: The Hell Chapter, Ano Hana: The Movie...
my favorite mangas & animes...
Not much of a fan of the drama and "lovey dovey" stories. I don't get near ecchi or hentai, unless the plot is really good (like High School of the Dead). The action genre is cool, but if they get too cliché, count me out, especially the ones were the main character can do everything and anything.
Umineko No Naku Koro Ni
Boku no Hero Academia
Piano no Mori
Well those are my top ones, but I have also seen and like
Karneval, Shiki, Shingeki No Kyojin, Bleach, Heart No Kuni No Alice, Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama, Goth, Mirai Nikki, Inuyasha, Kuroshitsuji, Gakuen Alice, Fairy Tail, Grey Is..., Death Note, Hakuouki, K-Project, Guilty Crown, Ao No Exorcist, Naruto, Ouran High School Host Club, Lovely Complex, Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, Sakura Card Captor, Hellsing, High School Of The Dead, Chrno Crusade, The Legend of the Legendary Heroes, Yu-Gi-Oh, Suisei No Gargantia, Kakumeiki Valvrave, Seikon no Qwaser, Wolf's Rain... and many more
Something curious about me... I had never seen nor read the Lord of the Rings nor the Hobbit. Yep I hadn't, they don't really call my attention. Oh and in my real name, my second last name (becuase in Mexico we use both from our parents), is a language, literally.
March, 16th, 2014
The other day I was with my friend and she asked how my “career” as an author of Fanfiction began, and well I thought you guys might want to hear it so here we go.
I think it was 2010 more or less, and I was looking for Doujinshis to read, after I had read “Konoha’s High School” (from Naruto if you haven’t guess) and one of Soul Eater, which I really don’t remember the name, but that’s not important now.
I had just finished InuYasha and I wanted to read one, so I searched in YouTube, with no luck, and I went for Google.
After I typed the words, the first result that appeared was one of Fanfiction its name was “Secretos de Familia” (yes, I read Fanfics in Spanish as well). I opened it and felt sad, because it wasn’t a Doujinshi, but then I read the summary and thought that it looked interesting, so I said “Why not?”
I read it, loved it and then cried because it wasn’t finished and the author stopped updating it since 2007 or something like that. So I closed the window and continued with my life.
Then around the end of 2011 more or less, I really don’t remember, I was bored and remembered the “Doujinshi” I read. (I called it Doujinshi cause I didn’t knew it was a Fanfiction.)
I searched it again, read it again, and got disappointed again, because there wasn’t a new chapter. Then I found that there were more like it, but not only of InuYasha, but of other Mangas and Animes I had seen.
I began reading like a vicious person. The second one was from Sakura Card Captor, and then I finished watching my favorite anime, D.Gray-Man, and searched for some of it, and then that was when I read the #15 more or less, and I must say that is one of my favorites “Prisión” by Alice Cavallari (It’s in Spanish, so if you don’t know that language I don’t recommend you to read it… unless you want to use Google Translator).
Before I knew it was March of 2012. My friends and family say that I have a lot of imagination (I don’t know if that’s true, but taking into account the fact that you guys like United Worlds Against One Enemy, then maybe I’m not that bad).
Back to the story… As I read Fanfiction after Fanfiction, I began thinking stories of my own and I thought “Should I? I don’t have anything to loose” and I decided to create an account and upload some stories, just for fun.
And Marinne Karneval was created March the 10th of 2012.
Marinne is a name I really like, but it’s not my real name in case you were wondering. Karneval is for the Manga and now Anime, it’s one of my favorites as well. Together they sound pretty nice and its original so I used them.
In my account, “Black Order Idol” is put as my first story, but it’s not true.
I had another story, one I deleted. I deleted cause no one read it and I felt depressed… but now that I think about it, it was actually pretty stupid and didn’t make sense. I don’t even remember the name, but I guess it was very idiotic.
Maybe I’ll upload it again, just this time less stupid and with a cooler name XD.
Right now is March 16th 2014. Two years and 6 days since I enter this place, and to be honest I don’t regret being here right now.
I’m happy, really happy.
So I write this, as you could say a late honorific of my second year as an author. I want to thank all of you, who read my stories, who followed them, favorite them and posted reviews.
I’m really happy. Thank you all, I love you and really appreciate you.
Thanks for everything.
At your service,
