Yes, yes, I'm aware I haven't quite kept up with my updates as well as I said I would. What do you people want from me? I've been busy with life, plus the muse hasn't been as loud as she usually is, but she's starting to speak up again. Chapter 8 of Nightmare House has been posted and Chapter 4 of His Territory is on its way. Michael vs. Chucky hasn't been cancelled yet (though the response has been pretty underwhelming) but I'm not planning on updating it any time soon.

The planned Ghostbusters 3 project has also fizzled, so I hope no one was looking too forward to that.

I have a new Elm Street project brewing too. It's untitled so far, but it's going to be a prequel about pre-death Freddy. Probably a story about just before he got arrested for the murders, but after he's already killed Loretta. Freddy, Katherine, Lieutenant Thompson, and a young Sheriff Williams (the sheriff from Freddy vs. Jason) will be the main characters, along with two O.C.'s, a teenage girl who was young Katherine's babysitter and Freddy's public defense lawyer at his trial.

It's been some time since I made a profile on here actually describing myself and my interests... so here I go!

First and foremost, I go by T.S. Quint online (or just Quint) and that's most likely the only name you'll get out of me. I live smack in the middle of the United States (ie. the boring part), and work in the office of a steel pipe and valve company. As rewarding as this is, I typically like to spend my free time writing. It is my obsession. Which is why I'm here. I graduated from College an increasingly longer time ago, and have pretty much put all the experience I got from the English degree I earned into this here site. Which is totally awesome and not completely sad at all.

I am a horror movie maniac. I have a VAST collection of horror movies on DVD (which I'm slowly transitioning into a vast collection of horror movies on Blu Ray) and there really isn't a subgenre of it that I don't l ike... though once you get into the 90's and on my interests start to drastically decline. Particular favorites are what I refer to as the Big Three: Nightmare on Elm Street series, Friday the 13th series, and the Halloween series. Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Thing, and the Child's Play series all get honorable mentions.

My primary WIPs at the moment are an Elm Street fic called "Nightmare House" (which has been a WIP for many years now, but I've managed to keep the updates at a semi-steady pace now, and intend to keep them that way) and a Friday the 13th fic called "His Territory." These fics are connected and take place in a shared universe of fics I tend to pretty self-indulgently call "The Nightmare Quintiverse." Pretty much all of my horror fics will take place in this continuity, unless specifically noted.

I also have a horror/comedy story called "Michael vs. Chucky" that will get updated whenever I feel like it. It's my stress reliever story. I really feel no obligation to it, and I'm not all terrified about it being a good story or not. It's mostly just for fun. I mean... so is everything on this site, obviously, but this one especially so. It's kind of a liberating story to write, honestly. Which means when I do decide to continue it, it'll probably get pretty experimental and wackadoo.

Anyway, that's me and that's what I do. I'll probably add a more detailed synopses of my Works in Progress and Upcoming Projects at a later point in time. When I feel like it.

Oh, and P.S. sorry the updates have slowed down just a BIT since May. Another of my hobbies is Community Theatre, and I'm in a production right now which has really eaten up all of my free time for the past few months. But, the show is drawing to a close and by the end of July I'll be free again and the updates will probably begin to flow at a more accelerated rate.

Skate on, my sons.

P.P.S. Before I go, I just want to ask about something. Something I've noticed on fanfiction.net, particularly in the fandoms I frequent. Now, I'm not trying to be a jerk here (though I DO hate the phenomenon) but... as someone who writes both in the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th fandoms, I just want to ask... what's with all the stories of Freddy and Jason falling in love with people? I mean, honestly... how is that even a thing?

Seriously. I am seriously asking a question here. I try like hell to write quality stories that both contribute to the mythos these franchises have established and keep the two as in character as possible... and I find that my stories are constantly being posted amidst a sea of Mary Sue fics where the protagonist falls in love with these two guys.

Seriously. Honestly and truly. If you write stories like this... EXPLAIN TO ME THE APPEAL.

You have Freddy Krueger. Dude's a child-killer. There are strong hints that he's also a child molester. And the dude's hideous. Covered in third degree burn scars and whatnot. At what point does a character like that become sexually or romantically desirable?!

Jason's basically the same thing. A monstrous, mass murdering, utterly mindless, walking, rotting corpse. Why? Why are characters falling in love with this? Why are you, the writer, using THESE characters to tell a romantic story, when there are a quad-BILLION other characters in other fandoms TAILOR MADE for romance?

I guess the real question is why do YOU, the fanfic/Mary Sue author, wish to find yourself in a relationship with these characters? Let's not kid ourselves, these stories are generally pathetic, self-insertion wish fulfillment. So explain to me why you're so attracted to corpses and child molesters. Really. PM me. Consider this an open letter from me to you.

Okay, I've ranted enough, I suppose.
