Author has written 12 stories for Victorious.
So I had a certain way of formatting my profile page from the day I started writing fanfiction- I listed some facts about myself in number form. However, after about a year and a half on fanfiction, I decided to change it due to how much has changed over the past few years. Let me explain why.
First of all, some basic facts about myself. My name is Jessica. I am eighteen years old and currently a freshman in college. I'm very introverted and shy but incredibly random and talkative once you get to know me. I tend to lean towards solitude rather than companionship- although the fact that I have a boyfriend begs to differ, I guess. I have a shih-tzu with one eye- her name is Carmella and she will be turning thirteen in February, I believe. We've had her for six years and she is one of the things I miss most about home besides my family and friends. As I had mentioned before, I did gymnastics for a long period of time- 12 years, to be exact. I graduated in the top 10 of my class and I'm very much a math/science person; I'm especially interested in genetics. When I was little, I used to watch all sorts of Disney and Nickelodeon shows: Hannah Montana, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and The Suite Life on Deck, Wizards of Waverly Place, Sonny with a Chance, Cory in the House, Good Luck Charlie, iCarly, and (of course) Victorious, just to name a view. However, over time I grew into more mature shows and movies. Now some shows I watch (or have watched but they got canceled) are Psych, Touch, Make It or Break It, Jane by Design, Drop-Dead Diva, Melissa & Joey, Baby Daddy, Psych, and New Girl. My top four favorite movies of all time are 27 Dresses, The Proposal, When In Rome, and The Heat, although I absolutely LOVE superhero movies. After watching The Avengers in theaters, I went on to watch Captain America, The Amazing Spider-Man, all three original Spider-Man movies, all three Iron Man movies, and both Thor movies; but I have yet to see The Incredible Hulk. So that's all I'm going to say about me for now before I get too personal.
I started writing poems during my sophomore year, then I gradually turned to writing stories during my junior year. During my early years of high school I was going through some rough times with fellow students and gymnastics, which had played a big part of my life until the beginning of junior year when I quit because of numerous injuries, and writing was a good way to relieve me of that stress. Out of all that distress came my first (and so far, only) original story called "All Because of You." After I was finished with it, I decided to post it on FictionPress-- and I was both surprised and elated to get not just one, but THREE publishing offers for it. However, since I didn't know which accounts were fake and which ones were sincere and I was still busy with high school and getting into college at the time, I never got around to trying to publish it. I still haven't, although someday I will find the time to do so- hopefully.
I started writing Victorious fanfiction nearing the end of my junior year in high school. At this point I was in that phase where I wanted to grow up but also stay a kid at the same time- and that's why my love for Victorious lingered for so long. I wanted to make the show my own- put my own spin on the show and put the characters into various situations that not other fanfiction writers would think of. For example, Trapped: Dazed and Confused was created by me pairing characters up and picking six random words from a dictionary (yes, an ACTUAL dictionary, not an online one) in order to put them in bizarre situations. And then there was Following the Stars, which somehow ended up being my most popular story by far for some odd reason, where in order to write each chapter I used an online horoscope site to create horoscopes daily for each character to follow. I didn't want to follow the fanfiction crowd- I wanted to do my own thing. Plus, I'm naturally (because of my personality, which I will explain later) a huge Cabbie fan and was frustrated when they failed to get together time and time again in the show, so most of my stories focus mainly on Cat and Robbie.
I tend to have a stronger connection to both Cat and Robbie than other people do because I seem to embody characteristics of both characters. For example, I am sort of random, ditzy, and a tad naive like Cat is and I'm also quiet, shy, smart, and a tad socially-awkward like Robbie is. So the situation is pretty much proof to me that if they can get together, it is possible for someone like me to exist. HAHAAHA. I'm kidding. Moving on. Anyway, I think the two characters have a chemistry that not many other people have- they are incredibly good friends and they have this great bond with each other that makes me squirm with cuteness every time they interact. It's just so friggin adorable! Other couples I ship (or have shipped) are Bade, Tandre, Shules (Psych), Jane and Billy (Jane by Design), Melissa and Joey (you can probably guess the show I'm talking about lol), Riley and Danny (Baby Daddy), Fred and Stacy (Drop-Dead Diva), and Jess and Nick (New Girl).
I have one genre that I seem to be really good at writing because it comes to me naturally: romance/angst and/or romance/hurt and comfort. However, I've tried expanding my horizons over the past year by writing a suspense/sci-fi story and I'm currently working on a mystery/drama with my collab partner KnowMyNameNotMyStory called Where's Robbie? It is the only story I am working on at the moment. In fact, it was my collab partner who gave me the nickname "The One-Shot Master," because I have written a good many oneshots that people find enjoyable and interesting to read. It is a very flattering nickname, I have to admit lol, and I am very thankful to all of my readers for keeping up my motivation to write as long as they did.
If you have read my author's note at the end of Following the Stars, then it will come as no surprise to you when I tell you that as of September 2013, I have retired from fanfiction. As I got ready to go to college and the show got cancelled, I realized that I didn't have the time nor the drive to write anymore. Unfortunately, that meant I left two stories unfinished, which I hated doing because it disappointed a lot of people. But I still urge you to PM me because I still do come onto my fanfic account once in a while to read other Cabbie stories that others have written! And I'm also continuing Where's Robbie? with my collab partner, so I'm not completely gone yet lol. I am still a Beta and yes, I will edit your story if you PM me about it. And actually, while I'm typing this, I have an announcement to make...I may start writing another original story soon for FictionPress. I got the idea in my head after many college events and attending some psychology classes at my college. It's going to be about people in our world that have two separate "identities," for the most part. One is the personality one exhibits to most people, and the other, the "okansha" (random name, yes), is somewhat of a secret identity- its full form comes out in certain (usually dire) circumstances, but parts of it also play a key part in a character's main identity. However, the story will also focus on how the evils and certain aspects of human nature have various effects on both identities as well. The two protagonists will be, true to my nature as a writer, a boy and a girl who meet and fall in love, and their chemistry calls the attention to a higher power because being together has revealed the power of their secret identities. Because their secret identities are so strong, a branch of the government wants to use them to stop others who aren't so nice and civil. Yes, it sounds like a bunch of jumbled ideas right now, but hopefully when I get the time to write they'll all fall into place.
So yeah, come and check out both my stories on Fanfiction and my original story on FictionPress! Hopefully this profile wasn't too incredibly boring to you lol and feel free to PM me if you want to get to know me more or if you just want to talk about writing :)
