It is the best form of complement an author can receive. I have been writing fanfiction here and there for over ten years now, and here is the only place that I have ever published my work. It will most likely be the first and last place I will ever do so, but I do struggle to put out the best possible quality fictions I am capable of. I admit, I am not the best of authors. I have been many times criticized for directly ripping off from the original work: just switch a few things around here and there but leave everything else the same. This is very much true in On A Day Like Today, Chronicles of the Killer Angels, and to a lesser degree, Tainted Demon Eyes. For the last one, however, I struggled to change it into a more presentable fic due to ideas inspired by the latest developments in the original. However, the first few chapters still remain a relative ripoff, a mistake I someday wish to fix. I wish I just had the time and motivation to do that right now. Previously, my main project was the “Garden of Sanctuary” series which originally started off as a one-shot. I have finished working on Medusa Javelin, which is the companion fic to Garden of Sanctuary, and I've also written a bit of the sequel that was Empyreal Paradox. Garden of Sanctuary is the first tragic romance story I have ever written inspired by a off-hand comment in a Japanese fanfiction I once read over the internet and is probably my best work to date. It then spilled over, allowing me to finish Medusa Javelin and create Empyreal Paradox. I had hoped desperately that I could replicate my success and turn it into something that is half-decent, but with the way canon has developed, I have pretty much given up all hope of continuing it as it would require an complete overhaul of pretty much everything. Hence, it has been abandoned and will not be finished. I have also debated to myself if I should write a Bleach fanfic that's loosely based on Grind, the first Bleach fanfiction I ever wrote. Simply put, ever since I wrote Grind, the plot idea will just not leave my head. The so-far one chapter Genocide Sunshine is the product of that idea, but the ideas for chapters beyond that is turning out to be much harder to write, not to mention the first chapter also need fixes to coincide with the canon storyline. I should've just made it a one-shot, I guess. The Seventh Level is a side-project I'm working on, a crossover between Naruto and a Japanese novel titled Level Seven. It is a product of boredom, and I have doubts if it will ever be finished. A pity, because I have the plot planned out to the end, too. My latest works, All Kill Landing Edge, Taboo Tears You Up, and Knight of Eleven is a new Naruto, Mahou Sensei Negima, Code Geass (respectably) fanfic which is currently in draft phase (and one that will most likely remain so for a long time). I suppose I should be focusing on finishing my other stories, but we all know how tempting plot bunnies can be when it springs up and bites you in the butt. Apparently I'm the type of person that loves to set up the actual plot for stories but have troubles (lazy) when putting it into actual application. In fact, if someone is really curious about how I've planned out my fanfics I'll be more than happy to spoil the beans, and if someone really, really wants to they can simply adopt any of them and write them up for me. But that's just wishful thinking isn't it? But really, has any one of you fantasized about a machine that scans the ideas in your head and automatically types out something that is tailored specifically to your needs and specifications? I know I have! If only. For those who are wondering when I'm (ever) going to update, I update slow. Really really slow. At best it takes me about three weeks to put out one chapter. At worst? A year or two or three. The reason? Well, real life is typically the excuse I rather resort to, but I'll be honest and say it's a combination of procrastination and laziness. As of December 11th, 2014, after another long hiatus I've finally found some drive to write again. Hopefully this trend will continue... at least, for some time. - Nes Mikel Current Fiction Status: All Kill Landing Edge - Active (priority) Last Update: Kuunpimennys - All Kill Landing Edge, Chapter Twelve Currently Working On: Solformorkelse - All Kill Landing Edge, Chapter Thirteen |
