I've often wondered about this particular wedding night, but frankly, Mr Darcy has changed so much by giving him some human feelings, I cannot imagine him, or Elizabeth, fumbling secretly in the dark anymore. Their first efforts must be heart-warming, their married life as well. Purists beware!

While Elizabeth gets a bit of excellent advice from her friend Charlotte Collins while staying at the Hunsford Parsonage, it is the fact that the encounter with Colonel Fitzwilliam occurs a day early that changes the dynamics of her stay at the Parsonage.

The Gardiners' trip to The Lakes is not postponed and Elizabeth never visits Pemberley.

What if Elizabeth didn't receive a letter from Darcy following his disastrous proposal in Kent? What if Mr Darcy received some worrying news that altered his need for a wife? Darcy finds himself in urgent need of an heir and his quest to find a suitable wife drastically alters the events of Pride and Prejudice. Will they ever be able to overcome their misunderstandings?

Old maid Charlotte Lucas settles for Mr. Wrong, but when tragedy strikes can she find her own way in the world and build a life that exceeds her own admittedly low expectations?

As Elizabeth makes her way to Pemberley, reluctantly, her mind is in a muddle! She cannot make out her feelings towards its master and their meeting is under unusual circumstances. Their meeting at Pemberley with a twist.

A what if story. What if Jane had a different reaction to her experiences? What if someone new came into the picture? How would the story change?

Darcy knows from his Second Sight that Elizabeth will one day be his wife. Of course, Elizabeth has no way of knowing his assurance is anything more than prideful conceit. Darcy's certainty will bring much uncertainty before it brings happiness to either.

Lady Anne Darcy gives a young Mr Darcy some advice before she dies. Darcy makes a promise to follow this throughout his life. Follow Darcy as he grows from a young boy to the handsome man we all know and love.

Reading P&P, Mr Darcy's feelings seem rather acute, but do not get much attention. This story explores them from the moment just after his rejection, to beyond his actual marriage. The action follows P&P exactly, but some secondary characters, most notably Georgiana and Mrs Younge, push the boundaries of Miss Austen's description. The style of writing diverges from hers ever more.

Pride and Prejudice but each chapter will have a different "what if" that will lead the characters to new and different circumstances. Set in the regency period with a modern flair. Mix between the Novel and the 2005 movie. Please R&R

Colonel Fitzwilliam shares a story about Darcy's past with Elizabeth, just hours before his cousin proposes. This single breach in confidence changes the futures for all three involved. It's a story about falling in love, falling out of love, and sometimes just falling. Sample.

What if Elizabeth met Darcy once more at Rosings after reading his letter?

One week after the Netherfield Ball, Lizzy receives a letter from Georgiana Darcy informing her that Mr. Darcy is gravely ill and asking for her to come to London to be with him.

What if Mr. Bingley had not followed Darcy's advice, but followed his heart instead? How different would things be for Darcy and Elizabeth if Jane and Bingley had become engaged right after the Netherfield Ball and Bingley hadn't gone to London? Elizabeth knew something was different about that writing desk the moment she laid eyes on it. So what happens when objects placed inside the antique desk go missing and in their place are letters written by a man centuries ago? She writes back of course.

What if Jane's letter had been delayed, or free of the bad tiding that it brought? Better yet, what if they were blessed with good fortune and got both. What was Darcy's intent when he called upon the inn and they had been given just a little more time. Constructive criticism appreciated!

A little morning exercise

When Miss Lydia Bennet is attacked on the road to Meryton on the morning after the Netherfield Ball, suspicions arise on all fronts. Was it a local tradesman's son? Highwaymen? Are the militia men responsible, or will they be the ones to apprehend the murderer? And why has the Netherfield party run off to London the morning after their ball? Truly, a most untoward circumstance...

Wickham delivers some devastating information to Darcy during the Netherfield Ball. Can he just stand back and allow Elizabeth to marry someone else?

Marriage forces the Darcys to learn a thing or two more about pride and prejudices than they ever thought they needed to know.

Dr. Bennet, Lady Catherine's personal physician, has brought his family to live in the shadow of Rosings park to benefit from the attentions of his patroness. Headstrong Elizabeth seems to thwart the great lady at every turn, but for the sake of Anne, Elizabeth is forgiven–until she refuses to turn her back on Mr. Darcy.

P&P Variation: "He could walk away. It was too fresh, after all, to think completely rationally in such a situation. He could walk away, but Elizabeth – his Elizabeth – was standing next to Wickham. He could not walk away." Disclaimer: Everything belongs to our dear Jane Austen, to whom we are all indebted for such lively characters and compelling stories.

Darcy does not accompany Bingley to Netherfield. Therefore, he does not meet Elizabeth until his first trip to Rosings, resulting in some major changes to the way their relationship develops.

Ms. Austen-P&P "...she found herself suddenly addressed by Mr. Darcy who took her so much by surprise in his application for her hand that, without knowing what she did, she accepted him." Let's willfully misunderstand her words shall we? Let's see where it takes us.

What if Elizabeth realized Mr. Darcy's interest before she was blinded by the news from Colonel Fitzwilliam? How would she confront him? What if he knew he needed to change before harsh words were exchanged? Follow our beloved characters on a path of amiable courtship. WARNING: This is a preview only.

This story involves events after a further delay in Elizabeth's reception of Jane's letters in Derbyshire. Because of this, the Gardiners and Elizabeth had another full day in the presence of the company at Pemberley. The extra time allows for a slightly altered course of events in Regency P&P.

Elisabeth decides to accompany Lydia to Brighton instead of touring Derbyshire with the Gardiners - and thus unconsciously changes the future for herself and others forever.

What if Darcy had kissed Elizabeth after his first proposal, what if someone was there to witness this unusual lapse in Mr. Darcy's propriety? letter format. I am sure this has been done before but I wanted to do it anyway. Read and review!

Set just as Mr. Darcy and Colonel Fitzwilliam go to visit Hunsford while Elizabeth is there. So pretty much, I wanted more Darcy/Elizabeth cute scenes, so I wrote out what I would have liked to be a scene when Mr. Darcy surprises Elizabeth on one of her walks. Pretty much nothing happens. Thank *bows*

In Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth is angry at Mr. Darcy for his supposed treatment of Mr. Wickham, and he in turn feels that he cannot confide in her because of his pride in his family. What if he felt honor bound to tell her the truth at the ball? Would they come to an understanding faster? This is a preview of the book.
