Hello! Welcome to my page, and despite my name, I know absolutely nothing on quantum physics.
Where can I even begin about fanfiction... I love reading it, I like writing it. This page is for an accumulation of the ultimate faux pas of fanfiction writers; Self Insertion! Or at least, the throwing of normal people from earth into fictional words without so much as their say-so.
Somewhere, deep in the archives you'll probably find a different account of mine that has the "normal" stories, though you won't get the name from me. If you really wanna know it, you'll have to dig for yourself. But SIs have always been lurking in the corner of my mind, and finally I have decided to throw caution to the wind and write the things, because this is FFnet. It seems my main specialty is going to be reincarnation fics, where a characters are unfortunate to get themselves offed in the real world, only to be reborn in a previously fictional world. It makes up the majority of my SI folder, though I'm trying to differentiate, haha! They're just so much fun to write!
While I will be writing for fun, whatever story I write, I will be paying close attention to story, characterization, and canon as to make the stories enjoyable for me and for anyone who reads them. God forbid I spawn a Mary Sue... but if it looks like it's happening, reviewers are free to point it out in whatever way they see fit so they can save me in time. :)
For anyone who's interested, here's the alphebetical list of ideas I have upcoming, being conceptualized, in progress, etc. I apologize in advance for any times when I drop off the face of the earth for a bit; I work on stories when the inspiration, but otherwise I'm pretty busy IRL. When I have more ideas for a story, I'll update it, or otherwise leave it alone until inspiration strike. FEEL FREE TO SKIP; I'm mostly rambling here.
Current/Upcoming Story Plots and Ideas for the Future;
An Improbable Fiction
Fandom: Final Fantasy XII
Plot: It's been stated that Ffamran mied Bunansa is a third son; what about the other two? Cue the story of an average girl and her (mis)fortunate reincarnation into Besrudio duo Bunansa, second son of House Bunansa. What impact will (s)he have in the twisted goings-on of Ivalice? Will include gender confusion and massive amounts of Shakespeare.
Notes: born from my noticing that SI-type reincarnation characters always stay their original gender, and me wanting to change that. Plus I'd always wondered about Balthier's supposed older brothers we never get to know; mix the two, and viola, plot bunny! Still on the drawing board, though (or should I say writing board?)
Plot: The beat of a butterfly's wings causes a hurricane on the other side of the world. What storm will rise with the existence of a life that wasn't meant to happen? Follows the journey of Hatake Botan and the ripples of change that effect the Elemental Nations due to her very existence.
Notes: Plotted, outlined, currently underway.
Fandom: One Piece
Plot: Little miss Madeline, in her own totally-perfect opinion, is everything a girl dreams of being: pretty, smart, top of the class, surrounded by friends and going out with that cute senior boy who is completely and madly in love with her. She has a perfect life, and nothing could ever happen to ruin it! ...Yeah, tell that to whatever powers out there teleport her to a place technically in a book, as well as a certain Emporio who is Not Amused with the annoying little brat they fish from the water. What's that? She's proud of her femininity? Too bad that isn't going to last for long... her femininity, that is!
Notes: Basically? OC/SI falls into the One Piece world and is promptly turned into a guy by Ivankov. Wow, I can't wait to write that. I'll also use this as an opportunity to make a character that doesn't become a pirate or marine straight off, but eventually joins up with Baroque Works. I'll just have to see how it goes, I guess!
Plot: In the battle with Deidara during Gaara's kidnap/rescue, Kakashi's Sharingan eye sent a certain exploding clone somewhere. Try our world, modern day, in the middle of Times Square. When a scientist is called to study a strange phenomenon left over from a mysterious explosion, she gets more than she bargained for when it turns out to be a hole torn in the time-space continuum, which promptly sucks her in as it spontaneously fixes itself. Said scientist is deposited in the world of Naruto, with no way to get back and the threat of Pain looming over everyone's heads...
Notes: Not so much an SI than an OC, this is one of the few proper OC-falls-into-comic ideas that I have. Still in super conceptualization, and likely to stay there for a long time since all I really have is how she gets there, and random scenes where she tries to analyze the Naruto world as the scientist she is. Still have no clue what she'll actually do there and how she'll get back, if she does at all...
Fandom: Team Fortress 2
Plot: Lydia Anderson isn't quite sure how it happened. One moment she's living her day-to-day life, the next she's been warped fourty-odd years into the past of a whacky alternate Earth where Australia is the ultimate super power, and intelligence companies battle for the world. Taken under the wing and helped to cope by a mysterious man with a fascination for fire, she is determined to find her way home again, until disaster strikes... and Lydia finds herself being hired into a fledgeling mercenary army. With only the barest of clues on finding her way home, Lydia has no choice but to take up the mantel as the mysterious, merciless RED Pyro.
Notes: I have no idea what to say on this one. I'm not sure how I ended up with a full-fledged story coming from TF2 of all games, but hey, it is fanfiction. I've already read amazing TF2 fics that make you wonder how they managed a story like that out of that game as it is. Fans and their imagination are amazing things. I was also sort of challenged...
Into the Black
Fandom: Star Trek Into Darkness
Plot: To be honest, the only thing Lucia Valacari knew was that she'd gone to sleep in the 20th century and woken up in the 23rd. The doctors say she's suffering brain damage via defective cryo-pod, the admiral guy tells her she's a genetically enhanced superhuman-slash-living weapon, and the name confused Mr. Tall, Dark and Brooding says that she's his youngest crewman... though it might have been nice if he hadn't hidden her away as a 'sleeper cell' and gotten himself defeated by Starfleet. Thus, in a bid to find out what happened to her missing crew and leader, who she really is, and learn about the 23rd century on the side, Lucia decides it might not be a bad idea to use that fake background that admiral guy made for her and her impressive muscle memory to infiltrate Starfleet for answers-- though the bit about becoming an ensign aboard the Enterprise was sort of unplanned for.
Notes: So, uh... I really like the Star Trek remake movies and I came up with a plot after I saw Into Darkness. Yep. Not actually a retelling of STID, rather uses the plot to get started and mainly focuses on the time before and after the movie with marginal amounts during, so I'm brushing up on my original series know-how. I also got the title from the Firefly opening theme. Heheheheheh.
Plot: Supernatural was only a television show. Fun to watch, but something you'd never actually want to take part in... right? Then again, the show had proven that alternate realities did in fact exist, and Louise is given first-hand experience when a badly-injured Angel tears a hole into her reality, gets her friends killed by the demon it was fighting with, kills said demon, and uses her as power source to jump back through again. Now Louise is stuck in a verse she'd only seen on screen, and worse yet, fused against her will with the angel who'd brought her there. Changed in appearance with divine powers at her fingertips, there's really only two paths for a girl-turned-angel to choose... fight, or flight.
Notes: Come back, it'll be good! There's only so much a summary can reveal! With the way this is planned, it will actually be a pretty serious story, and hopefully I'll be able to catch all the dark, bloody undertones that SPN has and bring it to this story. The main character doesn't really become an angel so much as combine bodies with one and end up on top, while the angel's consciousness all but dies from the strain of fixing a rip in dimensions. Time-travel also plays a part, as the character pops into the SPN verse some years before the start of the storyline. You're just going to have to read and decide for yourself... I'll might be putting up this story soon.
Fandom: Katekyo Hitman Reborn
Plot: tentative summary: It's one thing to fall off a roof and concuss yourself. It's another thing entirely when it jogs memories of a past life that reveals your twin brother to be a certain future flame-wielding, Varia-leading, coup-instigating Mafioso. When the Main Character suddenly remembers her previous life, the storyline of KHR, and realizes what kind of world she's been born into, she has every intention of letting a perfectly good timeline run its course... until something goes wrong, and MC finds herself forced to take on the role of one of KHR's most infamous villians.
Notes: You got it, it's a reincarnation fic into a previously non-existant sibling, Xanxus as the victim this time around. This actually came from a review wondering why OCs seem to remember their past life as soon as they're born; why can't a blow to the head or something jog their memories? My imagination got to work. Also, I want to experiment with not being a good guy- Xanxus is so clearly an evil Jerk, I hated him at his introduction. What would a main character do if they were forced to cover for someone insane in order to make sure a perfectly good plot doesn't go awry?
In truth, probably a relatively short story; there'll be back story, and the Varia arc, but will probably end at that.
Fandom: One Piece
Plot: Jack and Jill went up the hill, and came tumbling into a different world after an accident sends their car off a cliff into the sea. Sure, they survived, but now Jack keeps saying that they happen to be in a world filled with pirates from a freakin' comic book, which Jill knows nothing about and frankly can't accept. It doesn't exactly help Jill's culture shock when she partakes of a really bad tasting fruit that leaves her positively unraveled...
Notes: Well, I love One Piece, what can I say? I really want to write a fic with devil fruit in it. However, this'll be fun since the main character has never read One Piece, while ending up stuck there with a friend who actually has read it. Basically an exploration of the OP world, featuring many OC's to fill the world but also the characters we know and love. However will the two survive in this brave new world?
Fandom: Avengers - Marvel Cinematic Universe
Plot: In an alternate reality, Megan Phillips was just lucky enough (or unlucky) to witness the activation of the large hadron collider alongside her dad, at the invitation of a famous professor... only to be sucked through a wormhole seconds before the earth is destroyed in a massive black hole. Tossed through time and space, she finds herself in a parallel world where men fly in iron suits, super soldiers survive decades on ice, and gods drop from outerspace. To make coping even more difficult, Megan hasn't survived her trip... unchanged, she might not be the only survivor, and her little trip though space-time has repercussions far beyond any scope of expectation.
Notes: Though the plot compresses it, this story is split up into two parts- before the Avengers movie, and during the Avengers. Since I'm creating a superhero, the first part is its own stand-alone plot taking place in the Marvel cinematic verse that leads up to the Avengers much like Captain America, Iron Man, etc did. There might even be a third part, depending on when the next Avengers movie comes out...
And that's that-- I've been inspired by the successful SI's I've found scattered throughout FF, and you'll find them in my favorites if you too have a guilty pleasure for reading self-insertions...
