Hello! Finally deciding to revamp this profile with the new year. My name is my own, but here on FFN I mostly go by the name of Yuja, in addition to various other nicknames. Over on DeviantART, I go by the username of Catzandbirdz.
I have 21 years of experience at acting like I'm 7 years old. I write fanfiction as a hobby and as practice, but more so I just do it for the fun of it. I read it more than I write it, really. My "official" education, complete with boxy hats and pretty papers, is in front-end web development (I make digital stuff look pretty). I may eventually continue into the actual academic field of Computer Science, but for now I work as a contract freelancer when not at my retail day job.
While I do like the practice of "Don't like it; Don't read it," I actually have just as much interest in what part(s) someone dislikes as I do in what part(s) is (are) liked. Also, the pointing out of typos and grammatical errors is appreciated, as well as any conflicting details. Sometimes it's something I've purposely planted (I love foreshadowing and overlooked plot devices), but other times it's something that slipped through however many rounds of proofreading it was wrung through.
Finally, when reading older stories, keep in mind that FF.N has gone through many changes over the years. We're talking almost 12 years of website reformatting! There was a time when ?! or !? combos all disappeared, whitespace would occasionally go poof after upload, line breaks were finicky as all get out, and the occasional HTML formatting would became glitched and remove the appropriate closing tag, causing entire lines/paragraphs/sections to become bolded, italicized, or underlined. I'm currently in the process of going back and fixing these things, but I don't want to mess up the dates associated with the stories in the process. If I have it figured out right, the corrections should start appearing later this year.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy the writings! =)
A CAUTION ABOUT MY STORIES (or "The Obligatory Disclaimer So No One Gets Fussy At The Writer Later")
There's this thing I've been seeing in more and more stories lately, called a "trigger warning."
I will not apologize for what I write, and I will not spoil what I write with an overkill of so-called "warnings". An age rating and generic forewarning for if a story will be a dark!fic or not, that's all you can expect from me. If anyone has concerns going into a story, feel free to send me a message, and I'll see what I can do to help out in deciding if a story will be appropriate or not. Other than that, feel free to look up the Red vs. Blue PSA video about trigger warnings. It pretty much covers the rest of my feelings about the things, and is the best PSA ever. Of all time.
