I like pretty much all types of fiction. Anime, manga, novels, movies, live-action tv, cartoons, comic books, graphic novels, you name it. As to genre, i mainly like fantasy/adventure with a healthy dose of action, tragedy, and humor. Action goes without saying in any good fantasy/adventure, but it might seem like tragedy and humor don’t fit together. Not so! The mood whiplash makes both sharper and better. Sarah Rees Brennan calls it joygony, and is a master of the technique. (In case you were looking for something to read and aren’t familiar with her work.) I'm not big on romance in general, but i'm a sucker for tragic love.
I’ve been known to ship pretty much every kind of pairing. I keep a pretty open mind when it comes to that sort of thing, and i don’t feel the need to lambast others for it. If someone writes about a pairing i don’t like, i just don’t read it. It really is that simple.
In my own writing, i tend to be attacked and then abandoned by plotbunnies, so i often go a long time without finishing anything. I love writing, though, even if it’s unrequited, so even if i go months without posting i’m always working on stories. Right now i'm mainly focusing my energy on practicing action scenes, developing multi-cahpter stories, and figuring out how the hell to do romance.
I also tend to be a frequent reviewer. If i find a multi-chapter fic i like, i’ll usually review almost every chapter. I love getting reviews and PMs, even though i don’t always answer. I can also be found on MAL with the same username.
