Author has written 28 stories for Kirby, Mario, Lengendary Starfy, Luigi's Mansion, and Super Smash Brothers.
I REALLY need to revamp this profile. I'm supposed to be more sophisticated, organized, and shorter now that I'm older. Looks like length is gonna be a bit of an issue...
(If you're looking for a bio, it's kinda in the middle of all this--literally. I'm sure you can tell, but I'm more prone to talking about my projects and fandoms and such than myself...)
StreetPass Plaza's 'Find Mii' parody: Because this is begging to be done and you KNOW it. Might be titled 'Help Mii, Save Mii!', but I have one or two backup plans (Xanatos Speed Chess). I need to get into the parody to write it, though. Come on, you wouldn't want to get jipped on something THIS frustrating, would you?! BONUS: I might do 'Find Mii II' if this one turns out well enough. We'll see. And I might think of doing the prequel to the 'Find Mii' series as well, which I believe is 'Warrior's Way'? We'll see. I don't want to burn you guys out.
'Cool and Calm''s modifications are halfway finished. I'll update the changes on GoodNightJournal when I finish.
Stuff That Might Come Up in Future Stories
All right, I'm gonna say this right off the bat. Usually in (most) scenarios in my stories, bad and good are strictly laid out. There is rarely any pity for the villain. Why? I'm sick and tired of pity puddles for villains just because they have the 'hotter' designs and more lines of dialogue and because of that much-hated quote I hear as an excuse 'I'm tired of the good guys winning.' LOOK AT THE WORLD. LOOK HOW MANY GOOD GUYS ARE DEFEATED. I'm tired of wallowing in darkness. Why the heck can't I be happy? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that a main point of living is TO BE HAPPY. I'm sick of seeing how those with good intentions are dismissed as fools, and everything else wrong with the world. Humans are total jerks sometimes. At least in a fantasy, I can be happy, because no matter how much struggle light has to go through, light wins in the end. And I know that it works like that in the real world, but honestly, there's enough dark stuff out there already. Those who have to wallow in darkness apparently haven't had enough of it...you know what; I'm going to stop talking here because I'm making myself depressed. Nobody likes a depressed Cos.
...besides, evil overlords give rise to perfect character development in other sections; heh heh...
Back to business!
Something different from most writers on here is that, after looking at the anime and game better, I prefer a brotherly relationship between Kirby and Meta Knight rather than a father/son. There's nothing wrong with that; I'll still read it, but I don't think it fits as well as what the series originally intended. Ironically enough, most of the people who like this thing are the people who don't come to FFN on a regular basis. Blame the games.
I'll experiment possibly with the following things; I'll add more as I dig up ancient story ideas:
The theory presented in Ivyna J. Spyder's 'Stars' (OMN SO AWESOME; it took me a while to get, but without spoiling the thing, it transitions from anime to game without violating either canon at the time of its publication)
The theory I presented in 'Dim Star'...even though the story really sucked; I'm gonna rework it.
The theories about whoever was the demon beast in HnK because seriously, the only three roads you can take are presented in that poll I have up there.
The theories about the possibility that Kirby or Meta Knight grew up on Popstar instead of out in space.
One other involving Waddle Dees; it's a surprise...a really good one! (-snickers-)
Other reasonable, non-disgusting things.
(Because somebody needed to say something about this and you KNOW it.)
Even though the hero had the more tragic backstory, the villain is always more sympathetic: Now, no matter how stereotypical or poorly-written your story becomes, I will still try to finish it out. But anything that fits in this, particularly mentioned above, I will have to clench my teeth through. Now, this is open to a lot of misinterpretation, but let me give you an example. Out of the heroes, the main villain whose revenge was more of an obligation (and who also gave his life at the end to save the world from his own mistake), or the ultimate villain who heartlessly manipulated everyone throughout the story so he could become the king of all worlds, who's more evil? Obviously, the ultimate villain is most evil, with the main villain coming in as less evil (but STILL partly evil), and the heroes as the obvious least evil.
But why do people accuse the heroes of being more terrible than the villains simply because the villain might have had a less tragic past than the heroes for a completely less tragic effect on them, rather than the hero whose past was a complete bomb? As somebody with a pretty tragic backstory myself, and not having gone evil, it really rubs me the wrong way when people side with a villain who was adopted rather than the hero who never knew his parents, was orphaned, lost everyone who resembled a friend or family (some even killed by him/herself), have lost their home planet, had multiple incidents where their sense of worthiness was shattered, etc etc etc. Especially if the hero considered going evil but resisted. It doesn't matter whether or not the villain caused this or not. 'Nuff said.
People in the reviews who claim that the story made something canon. This is usually done when talking about something the person has already notably and unshakably established in their mind, like what their idea of the past anime was, or if they want to establish that Fumu is a total string of curse words that I want to call THEM instead (bashing Fumu is also a major pet peeve of mine for reason I've listed elsewhere on GoodNightJournal). Basically, any time that a person takes a fanfic/something fan-made and claims that it's canon and confirms their fan-theories. SOMETHING IS CANON IF THE DESIGNERS MADE IT; NOTHING ELSE. How much clearer can I get?
...I'm not good at self-description.
Why, oh WHY, is it 'The Cosmic Penguin' that you picked?: I stick with The Cosmic Penguin for several reasons. One is the reason with 'cos = x'. Two, my nickname is Cos, so I have to have something along those lines. Three, penguins are cool and cute. I love them and I also prefer weather on the cooler side of things. Four, my father's nickname actually turned out to be 'Cos' and I didn't even know it, so...yeah. Plus, it's very memorable.
Name: You all know me and love/hate me by the name Cos, which is not only an abbreviation of 'Cosmic', but is also related to math--a trigonometry function is named 'cosine', abbreviated as 'cos'. 'cos' is the x-coordinate, or 'cos = x'. I am unknown.
Real Name: Jordan.
Gender: Most people who know my name in real life presume that I am male (until they meet me). However, those of you who've read my multi-chaptered fics may remember that I'm addressed as female. Have I screwed up your mind enough yet?
School status: College freshman, and I'm OUT!
Game Series: Kirby, Mario, Starfy, Animal Crossing, Picross, Pokémon, Smash Bros, and...I'm forgetting stuff; just generally anything Nintendo related. If it ain't Nintendo, I ain't played it. Unless it was Littlest Pet Shop. Cos is a sucker for animals with that kind of body design (and I'm talking about the OLD ones. Not whatever crap they have now that bears no resemblance to what it started out as. Hasbro, why did you ruin such a good franchise like that?! You could've at least let it die in dignity...)
Things I Need to Say:
I pretty much always do classic pairings if they work out well; for alternate pairings, I'd be satisfied with anything as LONG AS IT REASONABLY WORKS OUT FOR SOME ACTUAL REASON. Like, it's not too random. One thing you should note, though, is that I usually don't support cross-dimension pairings (like Smash Bros pairings, example--MKxJigglypuff). Pairings that are new, rare, or unheard of that actually work, like AdeleinexMeta Knight, I will usually try, even if they aren't my favorite. (shoutout to StarRod! Go read this fic!)
As for favorite characters, well, that shouldn't be too hard to guess, should it. (Hint: Player 2 is a practical guarantee for first place. If that wasn't obvious, I'd say Luigi and Meta Knight as a tie. But Kirby and Fumu are pretty close up there; heck, I like quite a few Kirby characters under them. I won't elaborate on anything else; just don't have the time)
(Also a side note: I am a Christian, I needed to say that so I have no obligation to seek out every copy-and-paste in existence, thank you and have a pleasant day!)
I can't think of anything else to say so just go watch the trailer of Hoshi no Kaabii GCN.
EX: Will hopefully be very dramatic. Why? Because I made the title and description sound dramatic.
Pairing Oneshots: Has anybody ever read 'Angst of a Plumber'? It inspired me to do a similar scenario, except with Adeleine, Meta Knight, and Waddle Dee instead of Peach, Bowser, and Mario. Also, I have a bit of work on my two favorite pairings (the classics, of course, which would be KirbyxRibbon and FumuxMeta Knight), but they're REALLY long...
Amazing Mirror Oneshots, specifically, Shadow Kirby-centric Oneshots: I like to focus really deep whenever I'm dealing with Shadow Kirby, so that pretty much eliminates THAT idea for now.
Kirby GCN: The Forgotten Tale: Will have to undergo MAJOR plot planning for it to be good.
Anything Else: Is something that I'm keeping a secret because I don't want to have to guarantee that I'm working on something.
Fics I Need to Fix (haha, get it? Fics, Fix? ...No?):
Cool and Calm: I think it's pretty clear that I rushed some parts of this, and that really clashed with the parts that WEREN'T rushed. Not to mention that while some parts of it made me smile, some parts made me flinch. I especially need to fix a few parts involving Kirby and Meta Knight...it's not as major as some, but still, I want to make the story enjoyable and it was the first story I had done in practically a year, so my skills wouldn't be up to par when I wrote it...
Revision Level: I think I re-edited the beginning of Chapter 1, but I'll check. I finished revising Chapter 2 as well, but chapters 3 and 4 are gonna undergo MAJOR revision, possibly to the point of unrecognizeability. Therefore, I may have to upload them simultaneously.
Trying: I know that death is supposed to be broken and rushed in that scenario, which is what I thought when I wrote that, but I'd rather make it beautiful even if it...did...mean that Kirby had to endure a few more painful seconds for the sake of literature. I'm such a cruel person...
Revision Level: Complete zero. I haven't even laid eyes on it to edit it yet.
Wanting: No. NO. One does not speak of this rushed fail. I could've done so much better and when I revise it, it's going to become multichaptered. Cut me some slack till I can fix it, okay?
Revision Level: Seriously, DON'T read it right now; it will spoil it when you read the revision. It's gonna be a lot of fun turning this into an adventure story and I get the feeling that I'll REALLY enjoy it, so I'm saving it until after finals.
Dim Star: Of all the flinchworthy...No. I might rewrite it. I might just edit the chapters and then call it a fail. I might still rewrite Chapter 5 as a standalone oneshot. But this...no; please don't read it.
Revision Level: I'm really dreading this one and I've been keeping myself from deleting it. I'll probably just rewrite the chapters and call it a day; I'll create a separate plot for the Chapter 5 rewrite.
You Dropped This: I'm not sure about this one. I feel like I kinda rushed to get to the good part, but I'm not 100% sure that it was rushed, or that that was the actual speed of the story. It kinda slowed it down when I paused near the end for detail...
Revision Level: Unknown?
