I haven't been very active with FF.net for a few years now, but I find myself sucked back in now. My creative juices are going and hopefully with time and hard work, a decent story will be born. In the meantime, check out the quotes below.

Thorongiliel

Be kind to everyone because everyone is fighting their own great battle.
-Aristotle

I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who overcomes his enemies. -Aristotle

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. -Aristotle

Anybody can become angry, that is easy; but to be angry with the right person, and to the right degree, and at the right time, and for the right purpose, and in the right way, that is not within everybody's power and is not easy. -Aristotle

If the great philosophers are right, and everything is imperfect in this imperfect world, love is the most perfect in its perfect imperfection.-The Seventh Seal

Abortion is advocated only by persons who have themselves been born. -Ronald Reagan

Men show their characters in nothing more clearly than in what they think laughable. -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Many that live deserve death. And some die that deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then be not too eager to deal out death in the name of justice, fearing for your own safety. Even the wise cannot see all ends. -J. R. R. Tolkien

He hoped and prayed that there wasn't an afterlife. Then he realized there was a contradiction involved here and merely hoped that there wasn't an afterlife. -Douglas Adams

No one means all he says, and yet very few say all they mean, for words are slippery and thought is viscous. -Henry Adams

We would often be sorry if our wishes were gratified. -Aesop

The truth that makes men free is for the most part the truth which men prefer not to hear. -Herbert Agar

Music expresses that which cannot be said on which it is impossible to be silent. -Victor Hugo

"I didn’t have to explore any character I played as much as I perhaps did, but I’m curious about it. I make it my business to find out as much as I can, because I think that’s being responsible and professional." -Viggo Mortensen

"Joseph Campbell said the privilege of a lifetime is being yourself. That's his feeling. And I guess it's mine too." -Viggo Mortensen

We are students of words; we are shut up in schools, and colleges, and recitation rooms, for ten or fifteen years, and come out at last with a bag of wind, a memory of words, and do not know a thing -Ralph Waldo Emerson

"I have friends who I get along with who I know get very uncomfortable being alone, unless they're with people, talking all the time. Whether it's on the phone, or in person, they're never by themselves. Whereas I could be alone for months." -Viggo Mortensen

"If I can get a day to myself, I won't answer the phone, I'll read or go for a walk. Simple, basic things. People think there's always time to do that but there isn't. Life is short." -Viggo Mortensen

"If any man wish to write in a clear style, let him be first clear in his thoughts; and if any would write in a noble style, let him first possess a noble soul." -Goethe

"Anything too stupid to be said is sung." -Voltaire

"Judge of a man by his questions rather than by his answers." -Voltaire

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities." -Voltaire

"You despise books; you whose lives are absorbed in the vanities of ambition, the pursuit of pleasure or indolence; but remember that all the known world, excepting only savage nations, is governed by books."
-Voltaire

"The second half of a man's life is made up of nothing but the habits he has acquired during the first half." -Dostoevsky

"Man is tormented by no greater anxiety than to find someone quickly to whom he can hand over that great gift of freedom with which the ill-fated creature is born." -Dostoevsky

"Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -Plato

And as I am nowhere near wise, and hopefully not a fool, I bid you all good day.

Until we next meet.
