Greetings, from your friendly neighborhood RBS!
Yes, in case you're wondering, I wear spectacles; I am rather fond of being able to see. I also have something of a fascination with spectacles - take your pick of the definition - and I am most fond of round (hornrimmed or wire rimmed) and the recently popular rectangular geek chic spectacles.
I'm a Christian who loves to read and write, and I've been the first since I was four, doing the second since same and the last (with varying degrees of success) since I was eight. I am currently working on writing a fantasy series and am hoping to publish it eventually.
I have been driven to write fanfic for three reasons: first and foremost I love a good story and it gives me a chance to feel I am a part of stories I am more than incredibly fond of, secondly I decided that writing fanfic is a good way to exorcise (well, at least help doom or dampen) my crippling perfectionism by just writing something every day even if it is something unconnected to my original story, and thirdly it's just plain fun!
I am a compulsive student who has many different interests and not nearly enough time to pursue them all.
Among books, my favourite authors are G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, Dorothy L. Sayers, J.R.R. Tolkien, Margery Allingham, R.A. Lafferty, Adrian Plass, Charles Williams, George MacDonald, David Gemmell, Robert E. Howard, Calum P. Cameron, Manly Wade Wellman, and Sterling E. Lanier. And last, but not least, I am incredibly fond of the television shows: Doctor Who, Person of Interest, The Prisoner, Danger Man, The Pretender, LOST, The Equalizer, Fringe, The Avengers, Sherlock, and The A-Team. That ought to give you some idea of what to expect.
I should warn you, I am a bit slow in producing stories but I get there in the end.
Besides the stories below, I was privileged to be asked to contribute to the Doctor Who/Person of Interest fic, along with a couple of other fantastic guest authors, in the marvelous Haiza Tyri's "Four Times Reese Wished River Hadn't Come, and One Time He Wished She Had," which is on her profile. If you go to Haiza Tyri's profile to read that story, don't stop at just the one and go read her other stories; if you don't go there to read the the story I contributed to, read her stories anyway -- you will not be sorry, her stories are utterly fantastic.
Thank you in advance for reviews and/or criticisms, they are greatly appreciated.
I do hope you enjoy!
What to expect in content: I try to stick as close to the tone of a series and as close to how the characters would act as possible. I prefer to write about friendship to romance, but there may be the occasional bit of romance (because characters do canonically fall in love and it informs who they are, obviously), however there will never be sex scenes. I may write blood, death, and torture. There may occasionally be cursing or swearing, but no more frequently (and no words further) than what was exhibited in the original series. I neither write slash nor any other sort of non-canonical shipping; as previously noted, I prefer writing about friendship.
P.S. This is for those of you who are following "The Breach." Working on the next couple of chapters.
