Author has written 62 stories for Person of Interest.
I've had many fabulous positions in a career spanning several decades, but never have I been more excited than I am to be able to publish these little fan fictions now.
I have watched and loved television and movies for years, but never tried to write fanfiction, unless you count that little story I wrote inspired by Walter Farley's The Black Stallion back in second grade! My last great passion was "House, M.D." but I never tried to create my own fics for that.
My family -- husband and adult twin boys -- keeps me grounded and happy. I couldn't do anything at all without them.
I am tremendously inspired by the talent, creativity, and inventiveness of the Person of Interest writers and cast. I love thinking about and analyzing that amazing show and I find a great way to get at the issues and themes raised in it is to explore them through fiction.
I adore the potential -- emotional, dramatic, romantic, and physical -- in the canon relationship between Reese and Carter. These two emotionally stunted, tough, brave, reckless, needy yet resilient characters are fascinating to me. But I am also quite drawn to the other two major figures of the POI universe, Finch and Fusco, both of whom have absolutely fantastic voices and points of view.
I also like the secondary characters from canon and I am ocassionally inspired to create original characters in order to explore questions about the main figures. With these original characters in particular I am determined to create an inclusive roster of individuals whose varied outlooks, ethnic backgrounds, gender and sexual orientations, and social statuses reflect the diversity of our contemporary world...and of the future we are advancing towards.
My goal always is to stick to canon as the basis from which to launch my stories. What is on screen and in the scripts is good enough for me. I like to give it my own twist on the POI reality, of course. But I'm not into revising the essential natures or personalities of these intriguing characters. I do enjoy reading some of those stories which change the Core Four in radical ways from time to time and I admire those authors who can come up with such imaginative alterations for these characters.
I find the canon POI universe -- with the twists I like to throw at Reese, Finch, Carter, and Fusco -- as complex, stimulating, and fun as I could ever hope it to be.
Most crucially, I am inspired by the great comments and reviews from readers. They drive me forward, encourage my imagination, and are the only reward I seek.
Keep writing those reviews and I promise I will keep writing POI fics!
I am extremely proud to be the co-founder and co-moderator of the POI Discussion Forum, a fan site for quality in-depth discussion of all things POI.
