I am really into Mathematics, especially formal logic. My idol is Godel, who proved his two Incompleteness Theorems, the ultimate in mathematical trolling.
As a mathematician, the highest praise I can give something is calling it "elegant".
Ships I really like are in BOLD.
Revan/Canderous (really, I just hate Carth)
Vader/Padme (if Vader was never Anakin (like in The SIth and the Senator)
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Azula (I know
Pirates of the Carribean
Syrena/Philip (that's the mermaid in the fourth book)
Reasoning for the choice of some of my favorites:
Goldilocks and the Four Heads of Houses: It was incredibly funny, and the reason for my shipping McSnape.
Pride of Time: Although it was a little bit of a walkthrough, the parts where it wasn't were well done. I also loved how significant the author made the sheepskin rug (you'll know what I mean if you read it).
StarvingLunatic: she has the oddest ability as a writer to take what could be incredibly weird situations, like a threesome, and manage to make it make sense, establish it somewhat normally, and critically, not just use it because "Ooh! It's a threesome therefore sexy... wait there's supposed to be plot and character development in a story?"
Princess Alexandria: Exposes flawed characters perceived as perfect with uncanny ease. for example her Twilight story isn't so much an indictment of Edward, because that would be too easy. No, instead she exposes Bella's mom (Renee, for those who remember/cared to read the book) as an unfit, negligent parent.
