Author has written 21 stories for Vampire Diaries, and Harry Potter.
My name is I.M. Sterling and I am addicted to fanfiction. I think my friends would hold an intervention, but we'd just end up with another stack of fic ideas, and I have more than I can write as is. I've somehow acquired a plot bunny farm over the last year (I blame Dragoon811).
In real life, I'm a writer who lives in Texas. I'm not making a living off my work (yet) but I am publishing and making money.
I'm always willing to talk shop with other writers who want to throw ideas around or who would like real-life publishing tips, but unfortunately I don't have time to beta...which sucks because I love reading fiction FIRST...
I ship Hermione with basically anyone but Ron Weasley…but I tend to write SS/HG.
I have a mini-Severus living in my head. I'm not sure when he showed up, but he's good company most of the time...he pouts, he sneers, when he does speak it's snarky and sarcastic...and he actively sabotages any effort I make to pair Hermione with anyone else...
Like I said...good company.
Anyway, I did have my real name and book info posted on this profile, but that felt a little...pushy. This is a bit of a busman's holiday for me. I can come here and write whatever I like without 'offending'.
I’m on Tumblr under my real name, and I’m posting free original short fiction there…PM me if you want details…
Oh and please don’t think that because I have published some work that everything I have on this site should be ‘professional quality’. It’s not. Some of it is awful (cough, cough…A Very Delena Wedding). Why don’t I toss the awful stuff?
1) The most useful book I own is a first-run copy of a book that was accidentally printed from the wrong file, a file that contained a famous writer’s rough draft. I have a second copy of the book, the one where she fixed the flaws. Reading both showed me HOW to fix a rough draft. I re-read the flawed one a lot. It reminds me that even the best writers aren’t perfect.
2) I write because I need to. If I wrote something (no matter how awful) there was a reason for it. So I never throw out anything I write.
I hope you enjoy the fics as much as I've loved writing them. I'm a big fan of 'Happily Ever After', and there's a lot of fluff here...I feel like if you walk away with a smile, I've done a good job.
I've been absent for awhile, but I've had a busy publishing year. If I hit the planned dates I'll have 7 books out in six months. :)
