Author has written 62 stories for Batman, and Kung Fu: The Legend Continues.
I have changed my Pen Name to reflect my new email address and my association with Batman!
I have been reading the Grayson series of comics. They are quite good, but what I like most about the stories is that Dick keeps in constant contact with Bruce. It's a hopeful message that some day Dick will once again be back among his bat family. By sending Dick on this mission and not telling the rest of the clan, if they are captured by Spyral, they cannot reveal what they know, that Dick is a double agent.
I received this from a guest and I just had to post it here:
I Love the way your last line really highlights the purpose of the bat family,
This was in response to my story Partners, Sons, and Wards. I wish I could respond to that guest and tell them, their words blew me away. Here is an explanation that I felt the story was telling me. The story actually came on the heals of reading the story about Jason and the fact that the Joker had tried to kill him by putting acid in his red helmet. Bruce was taking care of him after Damian's death and the story that I wrote followed on the heals of it. Dick, having been Damian's guardian while Bruce was stuck in the past in many ways reflected the relationship of Bruce and Dick's relationship of guardian and ward. Dick was acting as Damian's guardian, not only because he felt obligated to return the favor, I am certain he felt it was the right thing to do, to help Damian through the grief of that loss. In order for Damian to get over that grief, having him become Robin made sense to channel that grief into something positive. And with Damian's death, Dick would feel the loss far more than any of the others because of that relationship. Damian became HIS ward and partner. He probably even started to see Damian as a son even though they were brothers though not of blood. Just like Bruce felt the failure over Jason's loss, Dick would feel like he failed Bruce for Damian's loss. And just like Bruce, he went to the beginning, to his parents graves because it was so much of a reminder of his own loss as well. It was fitting that Bruce be the one to help him through that shared pain.
