QUICK ABOUT ME
POTTERMORE (PM me first, if you want to add me, I want to know who you are :) )
I stick to canon as much as I can, I want everything to be accurate. But Jo's weird concept of time, that the Hogwarts school year always starts on Monday September 1st, annoys the hell out of me. I enjoy a good AU story (and crossover from the looks of the wonderful story I'm reading now), of course, and I will change canon things in my own stories if I want to, but changes will be as canon as possible. Meaning I try to incorporate the changes so it seems like it was in canon all along. I'm working on an AU story now, not sure how successful I'll end up becoming, but I'm trying.
NEWS / NOTES
29. December 2014: Some of you - those who may have followed me from my early years writing Draco fanfiction - may know that I have previously had issues with inflammations in both my wrist and my neck. These last two-three years I have experienced something different in my right hand, numbness and pain, it started especially during my first attempt at NaNo in 2011. Since then it has gotten worse every winter due to me having to scrape ice off my car every morning and the strain from writing. Even writing this now is causing my thumb, index and middle right fingers to prickle and go numb. I'm waking up more and more often during the night with those fingers completely numb and feeling like they've swollen to the size of a baby's arm. Last year I could just turn to my back and move my fingers and it would go away in a matter of seconds. Now, it can take minutes, and when I finally get the feeling back, it feels like my hand is burning up from the center. It's a real pain, in both the annoying sense and the physical sense.
From that, I guess you've gathered that I'm having trouble getting any writing done. (The fact that I've not had my writing mojo for a while is a different matter I've talked about on my blog.) I mentioned these problems to my doctor several times, but apparently the issue has not been bad enough, it apparently has to be so severe that a possible complication during surgery won't make matters too much worse. But now, I can't take it anymore. It's affecting my sleep and my ability to drive - seeing as my right hand go numb if I hold the steering wheel too long, or too hard (as I tend to do when on the motorway or on a particularly icy road).
Some issues at work has made me postpone talking about it with my doctor again, but this business will be resolved during January, and considering the Norwegian health care system, it will probably take months for me to even get an xray appointment, let alone surgery.
But, until a doctor tells me otherwise, I will continue working on getting back into the Lunar Phases groove to continue the rewrite/revision. When (note that I say when with hope rather than if) I get surgery, recovery can take from 2 to 12 months. During that time, I will do my best, but I can't promise anything.
So as far as you know, all my writing is on hiatus and I will personally try not to be on hiatus, because I do not want to be on hiatus.
I'm sorry for this, but please, all of you, keep writing so I have something to do when I finally get this shit fixed!
Until Next Time
The Shira Lind Series (Please don't judge me on this horrendous thing. :P )
