The wonderful thing about fanfiction, I think, is it starts many people down a path they would not normally have followed. From the moment I put pen to paper to write my first (god-awful) Star Wars fiction, I knew that I wanted to be an author one day. This medium allows people to practice the craft, use fandoms they are passionate about to explore their capabilities and attempt different styles of writing while having a ready-made audience more than willing to give feedback.
It's utterly fantastic.
And a hobby much easier maintained as a teenager than it is now!
At the moment, I have five technically ongoing stories, of which three are on hiatus (Not Just Surviving, A Path Not Taken, Let Me In), and the other two (Team Rin, A Gambit in Trust) battle for priority on any given week. I am actively trying to intersperse my fanfiction chapters with original work - starting at the beginning of 2016 I promised myself that for every chapter of fanfic that I published, I would write an equivalent amount toward original fiction - and I'm proud to say that I've actually finished several pieces of original work that I actually enjoy and may even look to get published.
But that does not mean I'm leaving fanfiction behind. I still find it is a massively useful tool to help with writers block, to sink back into fandom and just create for the sake of creating.
As for my currently Hiatus'd stories, followers of Team Rin and A Gambit in Trust could tell you that each story was on hiatus at different points in the past years, but the fandoms drew me back in. I can't say whether or not the same will happen for the other three, or if I'll take a new fancy and start a 6th work tomorrow, but I do still hope you take the time to glance through the stories if you're fans of its fandom, if only to grant me some feedback.
Anyway, I've spieled long enough on here. Check out my stories, and please let me know what you think in a review!
