Author has written 14 stories for Total Drama series, and BioShock.
Hello Rufus T. Serenity here. I'm very new to this whole fan-fiction so please forgive me if this profile seems very bare bones, because it is.
As I learn more about how this whole thing works, I'll update my profile to make it more official.
In the meantime, I'll just put some of the barebones to these, well, barebones:
-I'm 24 years old and though I lack many of the artistic talents of man, I've found that I loving thinking of stories and characters, sometimes actually writing something because of that thinking.
-I'm a college graduate with a degree in history. I'm now in graduate school to begin the long road to becoming a history professor.
-While I enjoy books, video games, and t.v. shows greatly: my single greatest passion is movies! Movies of almost any variety appeal to me. To try and list all of my favorites in all of these categories would be a exercise in futility at the moment. I will begin adding what movies, books, video games, and t.v. shows I enjoy as I learn more about fanfiction.net.
-At the moment, my only experiences with fanfiction.net are in the form of Total Drama fan-fiction, in particular five highly acclaimed stories: "Candy for Your Thoughts", "The Princess and the Spider", "Total Drama Comeback", "Total Drama Battlegrounds" and "A Codette World Tour". These five stories are so amazing as both byproducts of Total Drama and works of art in their own right that I was compelled to finally type out an idea that I've been thinking of for some time as a Total Drama fan-fiction. Come and See!
-Seeing as how its been close to nine months since I created this profile and have had yet to add to it due to things always coming up, I decided it was finally time to update some.
As my single story and favorites will show, I really only read Total Drama fanfiction. I have no issues with other shows’ fanfiction but for some reason it all fails to interest me.
I’ll likely add some info about my favorite and least favorite Total Drama characters at some point down the road but for right now I want to focus solely on Total Drama pairs. My views of these pairs are grouped into four categories. I’ll explain what each category means and what pairs fall under that group to me as well as any other worthy points. Also, know that both canon and fanon pairings are in these four pairing categories.
1. Pairings I LOVE: These are the pairings that I really enjoy reading and thinking of. While ultimately just my opinion, these are the groups that I like and that I could see happening within the show in some capacity (even if only in a very specific context that has since past). If a story has or focuses on any of these pairs, I’ll likely give it a shot.
Gwen/Cody, Bridgette/Cody, Izzy/Cody, Heather/Cody, Lindsay/Cody Courtney/Cody (yes I like a lot of Cody pairings), Noah/Izzy, Gwen/Trent, Gwen/Noah, Noah/Courtney, Mike/Zoey, Sam/Dakota, Heather/Harold, Dawn/Cameron, Dawn/B, Lindsay/Harold, Bridgette/Harold, Cody/Leshawna, Gwen/Cameron (as you can see, these revolve around 18 characters to varying degrees).
2. Pairings that I only consider either in one or two writer’s works or as a guilty pleasure: This is one of reasons why I felt the need to explain the meanings behind these groups, my views are not as simple as whether I like a pairing, hate it, or am indifferent to it. For example, there are some pairings that I enjoy reading about but I know that it’s “false”. What I mean by “false” is that for this pairing to actually exist, at least one of the characters would have to be altered (made out of character) to make the it work in a way that likely never going to even be entertained in the actual show of Total Drama. Or, I acknowledge that the only reason I even like these pairings is because a specific author crafted something that couldn’t exist in canon because of a character basically being an OC. Despite these glaring problems, these are pairings that I find to be fun or touching.
Heather/Ezekiel, Noah/Lindsay, Noah/Bridgette, Izzy/Ezekiel, Bridgette/Ezekiel.
3. Pairings I HATE: As you’ll discover I don’t get angry easily when it comes to pairings. To me, if I’m not crazy about a pairing in the show or a fanfiction, it’s nothing major because I’ll still watch the show or read the fanfiction and hopefully enjoy it regardless. However, for one reason or another, there are a select few pairings that make me mad. And when I say mad…I’m talking about boiling blood and erupting eyes kind of mad!! These are the pairings that I truly hate and that automatically kill a story or season for me. My reason for hating each of these pairings is unique and I may get into more detail later. But what they share is what I like to call “pleasure punishment”. What this means is that if they are involved in a show or fanfiction, it becomes significantly harder for me to like it. Aside from one story and a few one-shots, any fanfiction with these pairings that doesn’t have them being ended by the end of the fanfiction is dead to me and buried in the dirt. Having said that, I must place this disclaimer: I have no bad feelings towards any folks who like these pairings and I will not shun anyone simply because they like them. But for me personally, they are painful and scarring blights upon Total Drama itself!
Gwen/Duncan, Courtney/Duncan, Scott/Dawn, Cody/Sierra, all yaoi and yuri pairings (in particular Noah/Cody though I do have a few almost exception to this with Gwen/Bridgette, Gwen/Courtney, Gwen/Heather, and Heather/Lindsay)
4. Parings I’m mostly indifferent too and have little desire to read about: I’m sorry in advance but there won’t be a listing of pairings like there was for the other three ones. This is because pretty much every other pairing, both canon and fanon, fits in this category. I actually feel cheap to do it this way because I can break these off into categories of their own. But considering that the majority of pairings are here, I’ll need more time to properly construct the criteria for these categories for less favored pairings.
