Author has written 1 story for Naruto.
WHOOSH! That's all the useless crap being taken out of this profile.
I will probably never, EVER try to write fanfiction again. If I do, it will be found ripped apart, in MANY, MANY pieces in the Work By Author section of Dark Lord Potter first.
I could start by listing a number of pet peeves, annoyances, or cliche I do not approve of. Quite honestly though, you probably have no desire to read such a list unless it is funny or witty. This, I assure you, will not happen. Never the less, as I've grown and matured, i've grown less fond of the harem and mindlessly super! Naruto story. While the focus of my attention is still on Naruto (given his ridiculously massive potential) I have read a few stories where the focus is Shikamaru, who is, by far, my favorite character in the series. What can I say? Being a brainy type of guy, I can get behind Shikamaru's strategic brilliance and tactical planning far more easily than Naruto's blitz or heavy demolitions tactics.
Despite the fact that my journey on this site began here, I've found in recent days little to no desire to read the same cliche and over worked plots. A few stories have caught my interest, but by and large I don't believe I've read a purely Harry Potter fanfiction in quite some time. Unfortunately, I tend to like my plots to either run close to the true sense of the book (being a children's book) or to diverge in such an obvious way that it could never be mistaken for the series. My favorite character continues to be Harry Potter, however.
Dragon Ball Z:
An old habit i've gone back to, though i'm not sure why. Admittedly, the series has very strong nostalgic value to me, being one of the series I watched -probably the first, in fact- with any kind of dedication. The universe has such great potential, and many of the character have interesting and unique personalities. Admittedly, the series has a few obvious flaws (for one thing, the absurdly power nature of simply being a saiyan) as well as a problem trying to think up a plot beyond "So and so arrives on [planet] where [our hero] is. S/He is more powerful than [our hero] and causes havoc until [our hero] is sufficiently angered by the loss of innocent life/ has had time to come to terms with their potential, and then trained in it/ gathered reinforcements from somewhere." Rinse and repeat. Gohan (being my favorite) has a definite tendency to get bogged within these, though there are a number of stories that i've read that simply take place in his high school years, and focus on his courtship of Videl as he also struggles to deal with is secrets. Otherwise, my only gripe is that any race that can match the saiyans besides a single member of their race (Buu, Cell, even the androids) seems too much like a mary sue race, and without any interesting antagonists, the story lacks suspense.
Don't even get me started. I like Chad, and exploring the humans within this 'verse. I don't like...well pretty much everything else.
I like Beast Boy, he interests me, and makes me laugh. The rest of the cast i'm okay with. Any story you can see i've read in this genre is probably a crossover with the rest of the DC universe, and adds competence and drive to Beast Boy's character.
