Author has written 10 stories for Harry Potter. To contact me: Leave a review (which I still read!) or email me at celebony@ Yahoo Group and Getting Nostalgic: (12/7/19) As many of you know, Yahoo Groups is going away. I am so thankful to Marci for setting up Celebony's World at Yahoo Groups and for all of you who added your stories, fan art, and comments over the years. As I save the fan art, I especially want to thank Shikatanai, Liz, and Della_Couer for all of their wonderful fan art. It has really warmed my heart going through it all all these years later. While I'm digging into the group stuff, I am feeling so grateful for how much support I received for my fan fiction throughout the years. I can't believe it's been over 10 years since I was first nervously clicking "post" on the first chapter of Recnac Transfaerso. Back then, writing was something I kept very secret in my life as it felt too vulnerable to say to anyone that I wanted to be a writer. I felt very much that I could never be good enough and to pretend was too embarrassing. But this community was so supportive, it transformed how I thought about writing. I would run home from school to read reviews and still can remember how knocked over by the reaction to every chapter. When I went to college, I got my first P.O. box and received a packet of fan art that made me feel like I'd made it in life. Each fic meant something different to me. I wrote Family Night and Claustrophobia at the urging of my beta, Katie, who I met through fan fiction and is still one of my closest friends today. I wrote Abysmal Dating Life after my first manuscript had been turned down by literary agents, and through it I found my way with writing character voice and rediscovered the joy in writing, setting me up to take a deep breath and dive into writing my next manuscript. Each time a review comes in, or I go back and look at my review responses to you all, or look through your fan art, or get a shock as I remember how many translations you all have put so much time and love into, it reminds me of the bursts of invincibility I used to feel from your positivity. It keeps me going with writing even now and fills my heart. Thank you for those of you who were with me at the beginning and those of you who are stumbling upon this now. Important Notes about The Fics: The Recnac Arc: 1. Recnac Transfaerso, 2. Flawed Perfection, 3. Full Circle. The sequels can not stand alone and will give away major plot points. Alternate ending to Recnac: This will give away what happens in Recnac, so make sure to read Recnac first. Picks up at the line, "'Why does everything always have to happen to Harry? Doesn’t he deserve a break?' Ginny muttered angrily," from near the end of chapter 33, so I strongly suggest refreshing yourself on that chapter before reading it. Family Night Remus is OOC in this fic and not in a positive way, as it was necessary for the plot. Be warned and don't bother flaming me for it, because I already know. The rest speaks for itself, I think! Enjoy! Translations (Sorry for the weird links but they disappear otherwise. Remove spaces where needed. If I've missed yours, please let me know! If you want to translate a fic, please email me to discuss.) (8/28/21) I've recently removed translations with broken links that I believe have been taken down. If yours has gone missing and it's still around, send me a PM! German: A Hero. Translated by Kris Potter: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7203574/1/ Notes addressing common complaints: My use of the A-F grading system: I get lectured often for not using the O-T grading system used for the OWLs and NEWTs. I wrote Recnac before this grading system was introduced in book five. Also, notice this grading system was explained to Harry by Hermione in book five, meaning he must have been previously unfamiliar with the system. So I'd argue that their regular assignments are graded on the traditional A-F system, and their OWL/NEWT-related work is graded on the O-T system, just like how A-Levels and AP exams are graded on a different scale. Formatting: I occasionally get feedback about chapters being in all italics. It is helpful if you can tell me in which chapters this happens so I can take a look. When does this take place, because... Only the shrewdest of readers have called me out on this for Claustrophobia and A Hero (I think those are the only two). You're completely right--I have no idea when they take place!! Well, okay, I think in my head it was roughly in the summer after either 5th or 6th year, but there are inconsistencies with either answer, whoops! I guess I didn't think about the timeline too hard when I wrote those, so hopefully you can laugh it off with me and enjoy the stories nonetheless. Just think of them as "summer-ish time" stories. Thankfully, I think that's it. Largely, everyone has been wonderfully understanding of my OCs and OOCs and factual mishaps, and thank you all for that. If I spent all my time studying the Harry Potter Wiki and Briticisms, I would have never had the time to write these fics. :) |
