Author has written 2 stories for Aliens/Predator.
NOTICE (1/11/12): The long awaited Chapter 5 in 'Batter Up' has just been posted!
I decided to redo my profile a bit, LOL. I always suck at writing these things, but, here's some basics. I'm female, in my thirties, from the USA. I've been writing since I was little as I'm sure most people on here have. I struggle though with getting what's in my head down onto paper. A lot of it never seems to translate and I often suffer from what I call 'filter block'. Not writers block, but a huge hairball in the drain that runs from my head to my keyboard. One of my favorite quotes is from the movie 'Contact' with Jodie Foster, when she says, "They should've sent a poet."
Batter Up = is my first Aliens/Predator story for FF.net. It was only meant to be a one-shot but I think I want to spread it out. Millie is a small town country girl from a coal mining community who got her ticket out of town via a softball scholarship and later, a ticket off the planet entirely when she ran into some Yaut's. She hasn't been with them very long and is convinced that she's in love with one of them. I'll be playing with her mind a bit. This one is filled with flashbacks, sometimes they're nested too so it'll be a mix of present and past. IN WARNING: this story WILL have a tragic ending in the future. I just hope I can pull it off with poignancy and class.
Planet Beta Nine = is my second Aliens/Predator story for FF.net. This one is more mystery related with humor, mainly situational. I'd been playing around with it in my head for quite awhile now, so I thought I'd finally sit down and try to give it a spin. I just hope I don't make the final reveal in the last chapter too easy to guess long before that point. It's about a Hunt team of 7 Yauts who eavesdrop on a distress signal from a human colony on Planet Beta Nine. The team swoops in to claim their trophies, imagining that the place is overrun with hard meats. They find them and a WHOLE lot more. This one for the first half of the story will be mainly character driven with each having their own chapter or sharing one in a split. The second half gets them together until the end.
NOTICE (9/9/12): I'm insanely happy to report that I have a Beta reader now! Khalthar has taken a liking to my stories and style and has graciously offered to help me. Bless his heart! Through the continued support of my reviewers and now my Beta, it's given me the drive to dust myself off officially and to get back on the horse as the saying goes. I try to post new chapters once a week, but sometimes real life rears its ugly head so thank you in advance for your patience. :)
