Author has written 4 stories for Song of the Lioness, Immortals, Tamora Pierce, and Harry Potter.
I am a recent college graduate/ early 20-something who was obsessed (probably actually unhealthily so) with Harry Potter fanfiction as a late middle schooler during that tortuously long break between the fifth and sixth books, and I am returning to it now (almost equally as obsessed), and trying a hand at writing my own.
If I were to ask all fanfiction writers to do one thing, it would be to PUT CHAPTER TITLES. I don't care if they are good or anything. The perfect title makes sense to people who have read it, but doesn't give it away to someone who hasn't read it yet. I like to reread books and just skip to my favorite passages, and I like to do the same thing with fanfiction stories. I will often not reread something because there are no chapter headings and I get unmotivated.
So, all the sudden I actually have a Hermione/Draco story that I have put up. I am proud of the writing style but am somewhat ashamed of the subject matter, I guess. I apologize for going to the "dark side" of fanfiction so to speak- haha, but the idea came to me, and I couldn't put it down. It is rated for safety and is still pretty innocent and sweet.
I have been writing a Harry/Fleur and a Harry/Tonks story, but I want to have time to write more of them down first before posting, if I ever feel happy with them. Also, I've written some of a Neville/Tonks story, of all things, but that will take a while. Also, I'm starting to take a step back, a bit, from fanfiction.
Tamora Pierce- if you haven't read her books, you should, particularly if you like interesting, strong, female leading characters. My other fanfictions are based in her world of Tortall, and I really should finish the multi-chapter fic, because that was the first that I actually wrote, and it was what actually got me back into writing.
