Hi everyone ;) Thanks for dropping by!
I've been a member here for a very long time :) Anyway, it's been, and still is, a great fun to be here. I'd like to think, and hope, that I've improved my writing skills since I first started to post things.
I've always liked to write and here I can share what I write and, hopefully, get feedback because of it. I write when I have the time and the inspiration to do so (sometimes those two are very hard to combine). I'm not focusing on one fandom as I love to write about a lot of TV-series. I did a cartoon once, because I wanted to try it, but my work will mostly be found in the TV-series section.
Usually I work with one show at a time because I really want to get into it - get the feel of the characters - get it right. When I'm done with a show I usually head on because I've lost the touch that I need to write a good story about those particular characters. However, I keep coming back every now and then ;)
Disclaimer; Since I'm writing fanfiction I do not own any show, cartoon or movie that I write about, nor do I own any recognizable characters associated with the shows, movies, cartoons etcetera. I'm not writing for profit and I certainly don't gain any money from this. The only thing I get out of it is happiness and joy from creating new scenarios for loved characters.
Work in progress;
Star Trek TOS - The Babel Conference
Okay, so here goes nothing. I've been a trekkie for almost as long as I can remember but I've never had the courage to write anything about this iconic show. However, now I find myself in the middle of a story concerning the friendship of 'the big three'. I love the dynamic between them. I must caution you though, I am a large Kirk fan foremost.
Kirk has had it with the delegates and ambassadors quarrelling day in and day out onboard the Enterprise and he can't wait to get to Babel and throw them out. However, further actions taken by the Orions causes SFC to order the Enterprise to stay in orbit around Babel. How Kirk deals with these actions taken by the Orions will either earn him and his officers another medal or destroy them and plunge Starfleet into chaos.
Airport '79 - The Concorde - The Conclusion
For some crazy reason (I can't explain why) I really liked the movie and I loved the chemistry between the characters. There was so much potential left unexplored. Then there was the fact that the end is...well...the story doesn't end. It has bothered me for quite some time that we don't know what happens afterwards. This is my take on that ;)
Federation World Airlines Concorde crashed at a Swiss Alpine Resort without any fatalities. A miracle some people say but Captain Metrand and the rest onboard the ill-fated flight knows better and News Anchor Maggie Whelan is determined to tell the world the truth. The question is will she, the flight crew and the investigators be able to piece everything together before it's too late?
Stargate Atlantis - When Time is Up (full story)
It began with a one shot called "When Time is Up". As I reread it, I wondered - What happened before and after that particular moment? Basically I challenged myself to try and make a full story out of it ;) When I began I had a fairly good idea where to go but along the road it changed direction and turned into something else entirely than I had in mind. Lani Nadim was the smart one and Katan was obviously the bad guy. As for Dadan, Rackie and Sha - they just appeared and got essential in helping me to finish the story. As for Askula; I never thought I'd find her. Carson was given in this since it was based on the much shorter story with the same name but Teyla, Rodney and Ronon's part of this became larger than I intended from the beginning. Anyway, I loved how it turned out!
Stargate Atlantis - The Report
Seriously, I don't know what possessed me to write it. I wondered about all the paperwork that we never actually got to see in the show. Also, at the time I was troubled with the character Woolsey. I kept thinking about the EMH in Star Trek Voyager for a long time. Anyway, I figured that I needed a B-story in this since it would be boring just to have them write their reports. Then there was the fact that I can't write formal stuff. I wanted to give each of the main characters their own time in the spotlight and explore their feelings, show the differences in their personality and how they dealt with trauma. Let's just say that it got very complicated and tricky to write. It took me seven years to finish the story! However, now, as I look back upon it, I'm glad that I managed to complete it.
Stargate Atlantis - Losing the Leader
I was sad to see Elizabeth Weir go. I really enjoyed her in the hot seat, manning the expedition. The chemistry between her and John was great. I think that they both loved each other in their own special way, they just didn't admit it. He listened (mostly) to her unlike other leaders. In a way she saved him when she demanded his presence on her expedition. I wanted to write a little something about the grief it caused the team to lose Elizabeth plus I wanted to bring Keller into the story and have her reflect upon her future in Atlantis. I'm not a hundred percent pleased with it. I might rewrite it sometime.
I intend to fill this space with thoughts and stuff around finished things...
Drafts: (I might never finish them)
Crusade - Journey to the Forbidden
I accidentally found the show when watching a sci-fi channel and it managed to get my interest. I was disappointed to know that it had been so short-lived. The continuation just begged to be written. The main character here is Captain Gideon and it deals mostly with his problems. I started with this only to put it aside and start another one.
//If you like something that I've posted, please review and tell me. It doesn't matter when you review; it can be years after the story is posted, a review still makes me happy ;) Feel free to tell me whatever you like, just be decent and honest in your comments, no flames.
I'll specify some of my favorite TV-series below (alphabetical order), together with the favorite character(s);
Babylon 5 - Captain John Sheridan, Crusade - Captain Matthew Gideon, Dallas - Bobby Ewing, Eureka - Dr. Nathan Stark, Heartbeat - PC Nick Rowan, Sgt. Dennis Merton, PC Joe Mason, Holby City - Owen Davis, Joseph Byrne, Henrik Hanssen, Stargate Atlantis - Colonel John Sheppard, Stargate SG-1 - Jonas Quinn, Starsky and Hutch - Starsky, Star Trek - Captain Kirk, Star Trek Deep Space Nine - Weyoun, Star Trek Enterprise - Commander Shran, Lieutenant Malcolm Reed, Star Trek Voyager - Commander Chakotay, The A-Team - Colonel John 'Hannibal' Smith, The Flying Doctors - Capt. David Gibson, Capt. Sam Patterson, Capt. Gerry O'Neill, Capt. Johnno Johnson, The High Chaparral - Manolito Montoya
I don't like slash fic's but otherwise any good story would do ;) Although, I must say, I have a weakness for hurt/comfort, adventure and mystery. I like stories where people care for one another and take care of each other. So, if you think you know of such a story, please recommend it to me. I don't want to miss out on the great stuff ;)
There, now you know a little bit about me ;)
