Author has written 101 stories for Stargate: SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, Star Wars, Misc. Plays/Musicals, StarTrek: The Next Generation, StarTrek: Deep Space Nine, CSI: Miami, Doctor Who, Mass Effect, NCIS, and Supernatural.
A little about me: I'm 30, married, and mom to a preschooler. I started writing fan fiction in high school, and I've been doing so on and off for almost 15 years. Science fiction and fantasy are what it's all about for me: almost all of my stories until recently are Stargate, Star Trek, or Doctor Who, and I'm currently obsessed with Mass Effect and Supernatural.
I think what I enjoy most about science fiction/fantasy stories is the way the genres use their nonhuman characters to explore the human condition. From Spock and Data of Star Trek, to The Doctor of Doctor Who, to the ensemble cast of the Mass Effect games; from the hobbits and elves of Middle-Earth to Castiel and his brother and sister angels in Supernatural, these characters hold up a mirror to our collective face and show us what it means to be human. And oftentimes, I think, that's the whole point of the stories they belong to.
A little about my stories: Angst, and lots of it. I am very nearly incapable of writing a happy ending (not totally, though--I have a couple of fluffy things up)! I do a lot of short, introspective pieces designed to get into characters' heads during, between, or immediately after what we see on the screen/page/stage/whatever. I generally try to stick to canon, and to keep all my stories in the same fandom consistent with each other.
Here's what I'm currently working on:
"Bullet with a Name" (Mass Effect): Before he left the Compact, a very young Thane Krios was sent on an assignment with a partner: a Cerberus assassin by the name of Stiv Kay. Spinoff from "Compromised," but not necessary to read that first.
"The Greatest of These" (Supernatural): From a prompt in the Supernatural Fandom/SPN Family Facebook group. A tale of faith, hope, and brotherly love, as told by Bobby to Castiel.
"Tuesdays with Molly (or This Little Light of Mine)" (Supernatural): A peek inside Castiel's head, set somewhere toward the end of Season 8.
"Nowhere Kids" (Supernatural/Doctor Who): Sam and Dean join up with The Twelfth Doctor and Bill to investigate reports of Weeping Angels.
"Surrender" (Mass Effect): A story in three parts about Shepard, Thane, and Samara after Samara's loyalty mission. Part II in the works.
"Neither the Day, Nor the Hour" (Mass Effect): Originally a one-shot; I started a sequel and decided it should be a second chapter to the original.
On hold right now are "Counterpoint" (Mass Effect), "Until Proven Innocent" (NCIS/Mass Effect), and "The Saddest Are These" (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine/Mass Effect). I'm not giving up on them altogether, just going where the Muse takes me for now.
All-purpose disclaimer: I do not own any of the movies, series, games, established characters, songs, etc. upon which my stories are based.
