![]() Author has written 3 stories for Lord of the Rings, and Silmarillion. I am a graduate of professional writing studies and a life-long Tolkien fan (well, at least from the age of 12). I love fan fic and my dream is to produce a Tolkien related fan magazine. I also fancy myself as something of a writer and (hopefully) a helpful critic. In short, I am an over-educated loremaster. If I were a citizen of Middle Earth, I would most certainly be a hobbit resident of Rivendell, pottering about in Elrond's library to all hours of the night and then sleeping in and missing breakfast (a sore trial for a hobbit!). As a human, however: I am young enough to appreciate fan fic, but old enough to know quality when I see it. I do not care for porn or slash or bathtub stories. I utterly detest MPREG (if you don't know what that is, trust me, DON'T look it up). I will ignore all of the aformentioned genres, as consistent with my cyberspace philosophy: "ignore what you don't like". As for authors in my favourites list who write this kind of thing: they are listed only for their tasteful contributions. I have reconsidered my stance on one genre: I will tolerate Mary-sues or Gary-stues since the greatest author of all time wrote the ultimate Gary-stu. “The only just literary critic," he concluded, "is Christ, who admires more than does any man the gifts He Himself has bestowed.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien. Please consider how the good professor would feel about your writing! Blessings to you all. May a star shine upon your computer screens and keyboards! |
