Profile visitors, followers, fans and haters, you have come to read the profile of John Sandman, a Latvian fanfiction author.
Hello there! I hail from Europe, from a member state of the European Union called the Latvian Republic, which is the geographical heart of Europe. I've been a gamer since the day I first saw a computer game, back when I was merely four years old. My passion for gaming had led me to FanFiction.net where my desire to unleash my personal imagination of my favorite universes was finally let loose. I had been studying English since I was five years old and I always try to find ways to improve my knowledge of English.
When it comes down to my character attributes, they go down a bit like this (adjectives or attributes others have used to describe me): charismatic, diligent, silent, shy, cute, dull, fun, lovely, interesting, protective, a huge a-hole, friendly, romantic, intelligent, mysterious. When one wants to know a bit more, well, there's this: I have trouble maintaining interpersonal communication and standing in crowds. Call me anti-social, but it always pains me to get to know anyone due to plenty of mental trauma I suffered when I was younger, and a bit of backstabbing by people I once trusted and considered friends. For me, smiling in front of anyone takes a lot of strength, but I do it regardless, so that I don't appear "out of place" as some would say. But enough about that, since it is not a severe problem.
Now then... I have made a few original characters to fill the boots of the main protagonist of a fanfic. Thus far, my most successful OC is Captain John Sandman (No, he is not a self-insert. It's a coincidence that his name is the same as mine, which stems from a lack of originality at the time). Here's a list of who I've made that have a huge impact:
I have requisitioned the following OCs from writers and/or people I have friendly relations with:
Why do I use OCs so much? Far more flexible and easier than to write actual characters and risk making them OOC. That, and developing your own character is far more interesting than writing a character that's limited by canon.
Now then, I'm a huge fan of the Halo universe. I've seen Halo since the moment I first saw a video game (It was Halo), and since then I was fascinated with this sci-fi universe. My passion and fervor for the Halo series has only expanded, grown immensely since 343 Industries took over development.
I do co-operate when it comes to story-writing. I used to have a co-operation with Insanity Gained, but the person has disappeared from FFN since, but right now, I am co-operating with three people on an important fanfic series.
Currently, I am working on a Halo high school story that serves as a bit of a backstory into why my OCs decided to become UNSC Marines and, later, SPARTANs. If you are somehow offended by my political stances, don't bother posting spam on my reviews. Of course, I will not block you for it, you are free to give your opinion, but my political stance does not affect the way I write my stories unless explicitly stated so.
