I remember, back in August of last year, I said I was going to finsih my incomplete fics before I left this site for good. But now it's May, and I don't think that's ever going to happen. It's not like I hate you guys and don't want to finish my stories, becaus I genuinely do want to finish them and put this behind me, but I physically can't make myself do this, and I think that it's for the best if I just give it to you straight (ha).
I started writing fanfiction when I was thirteen years old, and I spent almost two years writing on this website, and it has helped me grow immensely, as a write and a person, but over time my interests have changed and basically ever since I got my (second) tumblr account (the one I have now) I've moved on from all of my old stuff. Since leaving this site (and joining tumblr when I was maybe fourteen?) my interests have shifted and my writing has improved and now I have brand new, separate AO3 and FF.net accounts for my new stuff. I hate to say it, but I've pretty much abandoned eveything on this profile, and don't plan on returning, at least any time soon.
My style has changed (though my approach, plan as I write, which has been made apparent by several people, hasn't) and so has my technique and thought process. I use different tenses and have different viewpoints and opinions from when I was actively, regularly writing on this website. Today, I went back and tried to reread some of the fics I wrote, and I just.
13/14/15 year old me was just. Ew. I can't remember her thought process or her opinions and so much has changed and the writing style I had then, the capability, is something that's not compatible with my writing now.
(Feminism, advice from 20yos', personal problems/opinions, general shifts interests, and the transition from middle school to high school can be thanked/blamed for that.)
I sincerely apologize to disappointing you guys, but them's the facts. I can't write what I used to be able to and I refuse to rewrite almost two year's worth of stuff I've moved on.
(I won't tell anyone my new usernames because I don't want to be pestered about these fics, which I know will happen if I do, but thank you for all of your support in the past. It really means a lot to me.)
(ALSO a part of me wants to scream MY FICS WERE COMPLETE SHIT but that's me dissing my younger self and I think I did okay for a middle schooler but yeah I'm still mindblown by the fact that there were actual teenagers and adults who liked my stuff like wow you took time out of your life to read stuff that I WROTE YOU'RE INSANE BUT I LOVE YOU??)

Notice about fics that are from categorized movies that have some sort of comic-based origin:
I do not write for the comics, not usually, only because I've never actually read the source material for any Marvel/DC/anything else movies. I do read up on things - lots of things, online - so I'm a kinda informed. But, unless stated otherwise, I always write for the movie-verse things, in the long run - but mind you, I still research how things go in comics so I'm not totally ignorant of that. Comics are the source-material, I happily accept that, but, just to clear up any confusion - where it concerns categories like Avengers, Captain America, Batman, or anything like that, it's [mostly] from the movie-verse.
