Author has written 8 stories for StarTrek: The Original Series.Long-time (25+ years) ST fan, now an English teacher and freelance writer. This story is adapted from zines I wrote from 1978-1982 (long before the Ann Crispin stories, which I have a problem with: if all Spock had to do was stroll through the Guardian I really believe he would have gone back to help Zarabeth much sooner. There is no evidence that using a device that is NOT the Atavachron would cause death. For example, I think beaming up would be safe as long as it was done directly from the ice age. People's "molecular structure" was NOT different in earlier times, whatever Zarabeth may have been told , perhaps to scare her into obeying. I have attempted to deal with this issue in Part 5, when a modified version of the Atav. makes a guest appearance.)
