Author has written 8 stories for StarTrek: Deep Space Nine, and StarTrek: The Next Generation.
Hi Readers! I hope you've been enjoying the stories so far.
About me: I like classical literature and sci-fi. I also like arts and crafts. I'm one of those people who can do a little bit of everything tolerably well, but I've had professional instruction in nothing. Reading/writing fanfiction has recently become one of my favorite pastimes, and while I don't pretend to be any sort of literary genius, it is a lot of fun to delve into the fictional world. : )
My favorite Star Trek people are the Romulans. I just think it's hilarious how they're so (mistakenly) condescending and always plotting to take over the galaxy in their own good time. So far, the majority of my stories relate to "In The Pale Moonlight" (DS9) in one way or another, but after I've finished High Society I'd like to venture down some other avenues.
Favorite classical works:
Jane Austen: Emma, Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice and Northanger Abbey.
J. R. R. Tolkien: LOTR and The Silmarillion.
Kahlil Gibran: The Prophet (Christian poetry)
Charles Dickens: A Tale of Two Cities
Arthur Conan Doyle: all of the Sherlock Holmes stories
And many others...
I've posted a few amateur drawings related to the stories below on Deviant Art:# Also, TribalGraces has some really good Star Trek art, so be sure to check those out, too!
My reason for reading fan fiction:
"Follies and nonsense, whims and inconsistencies do divert me, I own, and I laugh at them whenever I can." - Lizzy Bennet, Pride and Prejudice
Pardek's Second Course: After all the fun LornaWinters and I had writing "Pardek Meets His Match", I have embarked upon another (unrelated) tale starring the portly politician, this time co-written by BewilderedFemale. Again, thanks for joining me on this, Bea! : D
High Society: I don't know why, but I have a lot of trouble with endings! At least in this story arc. Anyway, after putting it off for a while, I finally skipped ahead and wrote an ending draft that I'm fairly happy with. There's still one more option that I want to explore, but I should be getting back to updating before long.
I've been listening to a lot of Linkin Park lately, and while I only like about a quarter of their songs (cussing/too much yelling doesn't work for me), I've found it's really helped with writer's block and character development on this story. Their recent album, Living Things, has a few tracks that really lend themselves to the Dominion War theme since they were written for one of the Medal of Honor games. I chose "Castle of Glass" for Koval, for example, and the lyrics to "In My Remains" really remind me of "In the Pale Moonlight." I can't tell you which songs I chose for the others, especially Tertia's (that would give the ending away), but I'll give you a hint: it's an odd-numbered track from Minutes to Midnight and one of the songs listed below. Letant's song is "It's Gonna Be Me" by N'Sync. Just kidding! It's one of the tracks listed below, too. Listen at your own spoiler risk, but I think I've left it vague enough.
Fav LP songs: Roads Untraveled, I'll Be Gone, Burning In The Skies, Waiting For The End, Iridescent, What I've Done, Shadow of the Day, Leave Out All the Rest, In Pieces, Numb, Somewhere I Belong, and In The End.
While I'm on the subject of theme songs, I don't think I ever got around to mentioning Aura's, so it's "Miss Independent" by Kelly Clarkson. (I know, this is all really nerdy and cheesy. Follies and nonsense, remember?) XD Ok, end rant.
Trivial Pursuits: After sitting on the back burner for nearly a year, LornaWinters and I have taken up this story again! For those of you who've been waiting on this story, thanks for your patience. : )
3/12: Hello readers! I just got an idea for a new story based on "Who Watches The Watchers?" (TNG), and it's going to be my first attempt at using first person narration. : )
