Welcome to the domain of Ghibli Ninja! I am a rabid reader of fanfiction, but not an author. I may try writing someday, but I just don't have the commitment to write a multi-chapter story, or the talent to write a one-shot. Who knows... maybe someday I'll finally be inspired to get off my lazy butt and write something. Favorite Anime: (in no particular order) Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) & FMA Brotherhood: Two of the greatest of the Anime Greats. Both of these series are just so amazing. FMA excells in everything: plot, drama, characters, art, animation, soundtrack, pacing, action scenes, villains... EVERYTHING. Even their English dub is one of the best out there. Cowboy Bebop: What can I say? This is a classic, fit for all anime lovers until the end of time. Probably got the best English dub of all time. Death Note: One of the best stories of any show in history, and some of the most unique characters ever seen in anime. Code Geass: Another one of the Anime Greats. This series stretched the genre of "drama" to its limits. Not to mention that it has great mecha action (which I normally don't go for), and one of the most memorable character in anime history: Lelouch vi Britannia. He and what he achieves is friggin GLORIOUS. Clannad & Clannad AfterStory: I know a lot of people tell me otherwise, but Clannad is seriously some of the saddest shit out there. It's more powerful than AnoHana and Angel Beats combined, and that's saying a lot. It's not a perfect series. It has it's flaws, but then, when is anything ever perfect? It's the first series to have made me cry, and still the only one that can get me to blubber like a baby. Angel Beats Samurai X (the OVA's of Rurouni Kenshin) Fruits Basket Toradora Soul Eater Avatar the Last Airbender Best American animated series of all time. Heck, best American TV show of all time. Heck, it's definitely in the running for one of the best shows of all time, no matter the genre, medium, or country of origin! *No, LOK is definitely not included on this list. While fun and having some awesome moments, it's one of those shows and stories that has gotten worse over time, especially as I've taken closer looks at the horrendous character progression/regression and all over plot/themes and villains. It's bad plain and simple, and it honestly is an embarrassment to say that it has the Avatar title in it at all. Baccano Death Parade: This anime has scratched an itch that I've been having: something episodic which is still exciting/compelling enough to make me keep on watching the episodes one right after the other (cuz most episodic anime -- while good -- just aren't exciting enough for me to watch more than one episode at a time). This anime is the very definition of what I've just described. The set up is very compelling, dramatic, and psychologically confusing. It makes you question your own integrity and beliefs. It makes you wonder exactly what YOU would do if your life was on the line. Would you really stick your neck out and try to help the person next to you? Or would you look out for number 1? Could you be blamed if you did? Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso Kara no Kyokai Log Horizon (season 1 only) Spice and Wolf Nodame Cantabile: Another musical anime (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso is the other one on my list). What can I say? I'm a musician. This is more of a comedy and romance, but it has a lot of heart and emotion as well. And it is DEFINITELY about music. There are some anime that have music in it, but the story isn't centered around it. In Nodame Cantabile, that is not the case. Without music, none of the characters would be who they are, the main couple wouldn't have gotten together, the story would have just fallen apart. This is my favorite musical anime/series. It also has a live action Japanese drama which I fell in love with. It's the reason I watched the anime in the first place. Do yourself a favor. Go out and WATCH IT. You won't regret a single minute :) Madoka Magica Ano Hana Angelic Layer Samurai Champloo Hyouka Card Captor Sakura Shinsekai Yori Favorite Manga: (in no particular order) Rurouni Kenshin Death Note Bakuman (not Bakugan) Fruits Basket FMA Card Captor Sakura Favorite Couples from any fandom: (in no particular order; OTP's are in bold... couples from the same universe are put on the same line) Code Geass - Suzaku/Euphemia & Lelouch/C.C. Percy Jackson series - Percy/Annabeth Hunger Games - Katniss/Peeta & Gale/Madge (I think I'm actually starting to ship Gale/Madge even more than Katniss/Peeta) The Last Airbender - Aang/Katara, Zuko/Katara, Mai/Zuko, Sokka/Suki FMA - Ed/Winry & Mustang/Riza Final Fantasy 7 - Zack/Aerith & Cloud/Tifa Final Fantasy 6 - Celes/Locke Clannad - Tomoya/Nagisa: The love story between these two is just so amazing. I've never seen anybody love another person more than Tomoya does Nagisa, and vice versa. Even though Clannad is the saddest show ever, anyone can enjoy it simply because it also has the greatest love story in anime history. Toradora - Ryuji/Taiga How To Train Your Dragon: Valka/Stoick & Hiccup/Astrid Rurouni Kenshin - Kenshin/Kaoru & Megumi/Sanosuke Cowboy Bebop - Spike/Faye Spice and Wolf - Lawrence/Holo Fruits Basket - Yuki/Machi, Kyo/Tohru, Shigure/Akito, Hatori/Mayuko, Ayame/Mine AnoHana - Anaru/Jintan & Yukiatsu/Tsuruko (I only ship these couples after the actual series) Samurai Champloo - Mugen x Fuu Baccano - Firo/Ennis, Jacuzzi/Nice, Isaac/Miria & Vino/Chane Most Hated Couples from any fandom: (in no particular order; the couples in bold are the ones I really hate) Kallen x Lelouch: Let's get one thing straight. I love Kallen. I just don't like her with Lelouch. Why? Because their personalities don't mesh together as a couple. Whenever people like them get paired together, either one of them dies after professing their love for the other, or they just end up in some weird, awkward zone that is neither friends nor lovers... None of those options are good for me, so I'd rather they didn't get paired up at all. Even the creators of the anime said explicitly that Kallen never "captured Lelouch's heart or mind." Meaning she didn't know him or understand him very well, much less get him to love her. Lelouch x Suzaku Cloud x Aerith Piper x Jason: They're not a bad couple. But I think they're just a poor attempt at a second Percabeth. But a lot more boring and unrelatable. Spike x Julia Katniss x Gale Tomoya x Kyou (& sister) Mako x Asami Korra x Asami: Badly written and no buildup to a romantic relationship at all. Despite their scenes together in Books 3 & 4, there was no one scene that clearly indicated they were flirting/attracted to each other/beginning to be attracted to each other. There were plenty of homosexual couples in shows before this couple (even if they couldn't be named official), and they even had much less scenes in their honor than Korrasami. There is no excuse for how badly written this couple turned out to be, and even less excuse for how friggin aggravating they are in the comics after the series. If you think that C.C. and Lelouch should just admit that they love each other, paste this to your profile. If you think that C.C. should admit that Kallen was right about her loving Lelouch, paste this to your profile. If you think that Kallen should burn further for interrupting Lelouch and C.C.'s possibly tender moment in CG R2 episode 24, paste this to your profile.(I have nothing against Kallen. But that was so sweet until she comes in with her big ole weapon o mass destruction and goes "LOOK AT ME! I R PARTY CRASHER!) If you think that Asami should be getting more hate than she is for that horrendous love triangle crap in Book 2, paste this to your profile. If you think the Toph/Sokka shipping is completely ridiculous, paste this to your profile. If you ship Zutara and Kataang at the same time, paste this to your profile. If you feel like the Blood of Olympus was a huge letdown (mostly because Percy and Annabeth didn't get a POV), paste this to your profile. If you think the Korrasami ending was out of nowhere, paste this to your profile Favorite Quotes "It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes, you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it'll shine out the clearer! ...The people in those stories had lots of chance of turning back - only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something... There's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for."
"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
"We are the keepers of balance, the carriers of light... So it is our duty to bear the darkness."
"Those who shoot must be prepared to get shot"
"In the darkest times, hope is something we give to ourselves."
"Lying tears hurt others, lying smiles hurts one's self."
"The world cannot be changed with pretty words alone."
"Those who experience only happy things can never be brave"
"There's no such thing as a painless lesson. They just don't exist. Sacrifice is necessary. You can't gain anything without losing something first. Although if you can endure that pain and walk away from it, you'll find that you now have a heart strong enough to overcome any obstacle... a heart made fullmetal."
"The world's not perfect, but it's there for us trying the best it can. That's what makes it so damn beautiful."
