Author has written 2 stories for Silence of the Lambs/Hannibal.
I'm not sure what people write in these profiles, so I'll do my best.
I'm just your every-day tech support person who answers the phone, repeating answers to your questions over and over and over again...I have whole scripts memorized in my head, I'm able to rattle them off without thinking, so much so that I can "duel-think"- I can be thinking about something else while I speak. (Is that even really possible? And yet I do it.)
So as the vipers hiss less and the howler monkeys hang up the phone, I find myself sitting at a computer with no scripts to repeat and nothing to do. So I made the decision to write; I create stories to escape the four white walls of my office which suspiciously look like the inside of an institution. I write about what I've learned concerning hysterical, angry people who use their words to manipulate me into solving their problems.
Because I work in tech support I have this window of seeing the ugliest sides of humanity. I think only a telemarketer or a loan shark could rival my knowledge of infuriated screaming people. But every once in a while...by happenstance...I get a special person on the phone. Someone who is genuinely kind and sincere, who asks for my help and is content to listen to my jokes and make light conversation- sometimes even opening up to me and allowing me to respond to them as a person and not a script-reader.
And then I feel like I can relate to a theme I've personally translated from Silence of the Lambs. People are always trying to get what they need or want from others, but a lot people aren't very intelligent about it and most of the time they don't realize how much personality I can see in the way they speak and respond. In a sea of garbage, I have spoken to some very lovely people...
Alright. I don't want this profile to turn strange, so I'll end it with this: I hope you enjoy my stories.
