Hm, so anyways, I am Convenient Alias, the name that is at the top of the page. I pretty much write whatever I feel like, though as of late I enjoy small fandoms the most. And a lot of oneshots. And hopefully I can update my multi-chapter stories soon too... My View on Reviews Did you know that fanfiction.net specifically mentions on the review history page that it only shows the last 300 reviews you have written? I take this as a challenge. I want to write more than 300 reviews and kick the first few reviews I wrote off the page entirely! Update: I have now completed that mission as of...quite a while ago, but now it's 4/10/2014. But I'm addicted to reviewing now, so I don't expect to stop. Oh, and I like being reviewed too. Doesn't everyone? What I've Written: I write for a variety of fandoms, some huge and some tiny. Within each, however, I would say I do tend to attach myself to just a couple characters and write about them. So within a fandom, you'll notice some of my headcanon tends to stay the same. And also there won't be a whole ton of romance, and zero slash. Avengers: In this fandom, I'm clearly here for the Loki. He is the center of all my Avengers fics except "Chicken Soup With Rice" (which is for some reason the most popular of my stories, but a bit atypical for me). In particular, I like writing a sympathetic but still conflicted Loki, and generally my stories will involve him bonding with Clint or Natasha...or both. I first became interested in Clint and Loki's possible relationship when writing "Loki is Cool" and realizing that Loki has actually spent more time with Clint than any other Avenger (except Thor, obviously) and that, despite the mind control, they were in fact allies. Moreover, one of my favorite plots for the Avengers fandom is discovering that Loki was either coerced or mind controlled into attacking Earth. In a situation like this, I could easily see Clint sympathizing with Loki's predicament rather than blindly resenting him, as many fics show him doing. This sympathy was the inspiration for "Having Heart" and "Slit My Throat", and one main impetus behind my longer fic "Coeruleus". Loki is also the center of "God of Liars", where he forms a mentoring relationship with Natasha before the events of any of the movies occur. Unfortunately, "God of Liars" is abandoned for the foreseeable future, although I do hope to add at least one more chapter for closure someday. I also wrote Loki into "Golden Girl," but although this was originally meant to be a Lokisif fic, it became more centered around Sif's character than on their relationship. Animorphs: So I've written two fics for this fandom at this point. The first would be the oneshot "Abusivam Princeps". It's AU, though it's up to you to decide how AU it is. And it deals with the fallout of the series on the characters' consciences and possible consequences of their actions, particularly focusing on Jake. The second, also a oneshot, is "Most Humane of Princes". This story deals with similar issues but is even more AU, and explores what would happen if Cassie were the leader of the Animorphs instead of Jake. Avatar the Last Airbender: My favorite fic I've written for this fandom is "Strive Through Darkness", which unfortunately is currently abandoned. I'm not sure I'll ever finish it. There are also "Applying for the Order", a fic about the Order of the White Lotus and possible applications, and "Ginseng and Familiar Faces", an AU oneshot about Zuko, Azula, and Ba Sing Se. In this fandom I love a variety of characters, but most of all Zuko, so any future fics are likely to focus on him. Great Gatsby: This is one of my pet small fandoms. Although there are a decent number of Gatsby fics out there, I always wish there were more. In particular, more focusing on the beautiful bromance of Gatsby and Nick, or the dysfunctionality of most of the relationships in the book. I can be picky in this fandom-I don't like when Gatsby and Daisy's relationship is portrayed as healthy when both of them have so many problems. And it makes me a little sad that so many fics in this fandom have more contemplation than plot, though the source certainly encourages it and I do enjoy those fics as well. I've written a few fics for this fandom, all of them oneshots. "First Impressions and Hangovers", "Unsought Revelations" and "In Which Nick Doesn't Drink" all focus on Gatsby and Nick's friendship for the most part. Hopefully I'll be able to write more fics for this fandom soon. Harry Potter: Um. There are a lot better Harry Potter writers out there than me. A lot better. I am not the one to go to. But I did write "In Which Eeyore Goes to Azkaban", a crossover with Winnie the Pooh. So. You're welcome. Liar Game: I have only one fic for this fandom and it's a oneshot, so you wouldn't expect it to be one of my pet fandoms. Actually it is...I just don't have any inspiration for it. But I love this manga and the corresponding J-Drama, although I haven't watched the K-Drama version of it yet or finished the manga completely. Akiyama, Nao and Yokoya are my favorite characters, although I'm fond of Fukunaga as well. Another fandom where I hope to dabble more in the future. Gattaca: One of my more recent fandoms, definitely a favorite. I've written two oneshots and a multichapter so far for this, all of which focus on Eugene and Vincent, particularly Eugene. This trend is likely to continue-Eugene is one of my favorite characters out there, and I love writing about him. "Commitment and Vodka" is a oneshot that messes around with Eugene and Vincent's early friendship. "Playing With Knives" is a fic where Eugene learns how to throw knives, written in response to a challenge from a friend irl. And "Of Physicists and Janitors" is a multi-chapter fic still in progress, telling the story of an AU where Eugene works at Gattaca and Vincent is still a janitor. Hopefully I'll finish this one. In general, I would say the Gattaca fandom needs more fics. So please. Feel free to throw even a drabble into the pond. I'm hungry. Monster: This. This is my favorite fandom. This is the best. Things I love in this fandom include Johan being creepy, Tenma being angsty, Tenma being happy, Tenma being nice, Tenma feeling guilty, Tenma being Tenma, Eva and Tenma's dysfunctional relationship, Nina and Johan's dysfunctional siblinghood, and all the beautiful minor characters such as Gillen, Reichwein and Dieter. Things I do not love in this fandom include Nina-Johan incest and Nina and Tenma romance. Because incest is yuck (especially with Johan-seriously, do not date Johan) and Tenma is just so much older than Nina that it seems odd. But I will put up with the first as long as it is shown to be wrong and twisted within the fic (generally this should be the point of the fic) and the second as long as it is well executed. Quite often I think this fandom can pull it off. Basically this fandom is the best... But anyways, I've written a number of fics for this fandom. "Picnics and Eva" and "We Were Never Perfect" are a oneshot and a series of oneshots focusing on Evaten. "Father Figures" compares Wim and Dieter, two characters I find to be quite similar but, in some essential ways, also quite different. "Tuck Me In" is a creepy trip into Johan's head. "Justify" is a what-if story: What if Tenma had let Johan die to begin with? And "Psychoanalyis" is another trip into Johan's head, but this time with the intermediary of Dr. Gillen. Queen's Thief: For this fandom I've written a couple different fics. "Fevers, Flowers and Visitors in the Night" and "Path to Attolis" both focus on Eugenides and Attolia's relationship (A ship I call Eutolia, but I think I'm alone here). Any future fics are likely to do the same. Eugenides and Attolia are such fascinating characters on their own, and when they're together they're definitely my OTP. Flawless. Not to say I don't love other characters in the series, like Eddis, the magus, Sophos, Costis, Nahuseresh, Teleus, Relius...Honestly, I love them all. But I love Eugenides and Attolia most of all. They may still be my favorite love story. :) Tower of God: Another pet fandom, although I'm newer to this one. My favorite characters here are Koon, Baam and Androssi, although honestly I love everyone. And the Viole arc was purely gorgeous. Although I'm a bit behind on reading the manga now. Ehe...Have to binge read soon. For this fandom, I've written two pieces dealing with possible backstories: "Five Things Rachel Was to Baam" and "Learning to Want". I've also written "People Not to Kill", an Androssi-centric piece. Naruto: Ehe. Ehe. Everything I've written for this fandom is quite old and not all that good. So read at your own peril. But I'm not going to take it down, because some people have actually favorited these and besides, I do have a soft spot for this fandom. It's where I wrote my first fics. Other Things... I like reviews. If you like my stories, then please review to tell me so. If you don't like my stories, please review to tell me where and why they were bad so that I can improve them. That is the most important part. I currently have many, many fanfiction ideas but am only writing a few. Also, I would be interested in trading fanfiction if anyone else were up for it. Probably only oneshots, but still. I'd love to trade in particular for some of my favorite small fandoms-Monster, Tower of God, Gattaca, Great Gatsby, Queen's Thief. I may be able to write for fandoms I have not written for in the past, or fandoms not mentioned on this page. If you would be interested, please message me. Thanks! Please continue to read my stories! |
