Author has written 1 story for Fast and the Furious.
Marina (alias) here!
Also known as larosa19 or my new profile name Themoonchildlover (I was born July 11 which makes me a moonchild :)
I know this is my profile and gives me a chance to give you some insight of who I am, what I like, and why I do this.
Okay, well, let me just state this first: I love what I do and what I do is write. I write and write and write. This is something I want to do for a living and perhaps for the rest of my life. I want to teach English, I want to get a book published, and I want to be an author/novelist someday. This is all wishful thinking, of course, but I always believed that anything can be accomplished if you just had the determination--the will and drive to want to do it. The desire has to be there and so does the passion.
A little new to fanfiction.net, I have read a lot of amazing stories from many authors out there in the world and it's such a pleasure to feel inspired; to feel motivated by their works that it makes me want to try and be like one of those few people who succeeds in doing something they love.
I respect that others have their own reviews and opinions on stories and whether or not they approach the author in an either flattering and considerate way and or a completely rude and frank way, and I like that most writers respond to the readers in earnest (goodnaturatedly), but I need to know directly if anyone thinks my writing is good or not. It's what makes me a better writer.
So my type of reading?
Me? I like some vampire galore, maybe some Apocalyse novels? I'm a sucker for a plot and conflict between two lovers who are from two different social backgrounds and societies. I also like the forbidden romance element; the tragedy of star crossed lovers.
I root for these literature couples:
Romeo and Juliet
Knight Lancelot and Queen Guinevere
Paris and Helen
Mark Antony and Cleopatra...
I also like some dark themes because the horror...oh the horror, the gruesome, vile horror theme! Yes, it is the formidable opponent to any genre in Literature. I love me some horror, but I also enjoy some fantasy and science fiction. But then again I love to read all different genre books, but those especially written by Nicholas Sparks (the romance novelist).
Anne Rice is a definite.
So there are many things I can say to describe who I am, but none of them can really summon up who I am in the most notable and distinguished way without having an opposite or even paradoxical effect.
So here's a way I thought I could explain the inner workings of my mind and my personality.
"I'm broke but I'm happy, I'm poor but I'm kind, I'm short but I'm healthy, (oh yeah)
I'm high but I'm grounded, I'm sane but I'm overwhelmed, I'm lost but I'm hopeful (baby)
I feel drunk but I'm sober, I'm young and I'm underpaid, I'm tired but I'm working, (yeah)
I care but I'm restless, I'm here but I'm really gone, I'm wrong and I'm sorry (baby)
I'm free but I'm focused, I'm green but I'm wise, I'm hard but I'm friendly (baby)
I'm sad but I'm laughing, I'm brave but I'm chickenshit, I'm sick but I'm pretty (baby)
--Hand In My Pocket by Alanis Morissette
So yeah, I'm a really complex person--with two sides to my personality--my face and my mask--but I really don't see what's wrong with being your own individual self with a unique persona to compensate for the many differences of what makes you who you are. But what could I say? I'm eccentric.
Okay, so now that I got that out of the way, I'm just gonna go ahead and say that I have several ideas for fanfics and certain shippings--all of which I'm still working on and none of which I actually finished yet. I hope to get these stories finished soon, but we all know that it doesn't always work in our favor. Life gets in the way sometimes. But I promise, I won't let that hinder me though.
As for the shippings, here's a list of those that I absolutely adore, worship, and love:
[Warning: Some may not make sense to you, but sorry, I really couldn't care less if it does or not. I am a strong supporter of these shippings, so please just respect my opinion or don't comment to me about it at all.]
1. The Vampire Diaries (books), Delena--Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert also Steredith--Stefan Salvatore and Meredith Sulez also Monnie--Matthew Honeycutt and Bonnie McCollough
2. Avatar: The Last Airbender (cartoon series), Zutara--Zuko and Katara also Taang--Toph and Aang also Sukka--Sokka and Suki
3. The Fast and Furious (movies), Dotty--Dominic Toretto and Leticia Ortiz
4. Gossip Girl (tv series), Chair--Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf
5. Harry Potter (books&movies), Dramoine--Draco Malfoy and Hermoine Granger also Snily--Severus Snape and Lily Evans
6. Degrassi (tv series), Eclaire--Eli Goldsworthy and Claire Edwards also Semma--Sean Cameron and Emma (Nelson) Simpson
7. The Hunger Games (books&movies), Galeniss--Gale Hawthorne and Katniss Evergreen (save Peeta for me ;)
8. Twilight (books), Jella--Jacob Black and Isabella Swan
9. Moulin Rouge (movie), Christine--Christian and Satine
10. The Host (book)--Ianda--Ian O'Shea and the Soul Wanderer, Human Wanda
Yep, I am a very anti-hero person. I'm usually the supporter of the antagonists (the villians who are evil at first, but then becomes good in the end) so as you could probably see besides Dotty, Chair, Ianda, and Eclaire, I really, really oppose the endgames. There's just something about the hero concept and about how the hero or heroine always gets the guy or gal in the end...well, it just doesn't sit well with me and the endings are usually done in such an uncalled for, but predetermined manner--that to me--is so misleading to certain audiences (us shippers who lose our shipping). Stupid people bringing our hopes up only to let us down.
Forgive me, I could be a little bitter--ha, understatement of the word.
An example of this would be: The Vampire Diaries Destiny Rising: Stelena was endgame. *glares at Alloy and Harper companies*
Like come on! Anyone who reads the Vampire Diaries, tell me, do you think that Delena should've happen? If you do I would agree with you wholeheartedly.
THIS SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED!!!
Ah well...I guess I gotta go rant on another blog about how unfair it is that Delena was killed off by the stupid Vampire Diaries: The Hunter Series.
Anyways, not all of these shippings became endgame, so I guess that's why fanfiction was invented. To give us shippers a chance to fix or build on what we believe should have happened in our shippings as endgame or canon (or just continue to write it as it is. )
I have written some fanfics based on these shippings but I have posted none but one and even I'm not done with that story yet. I still have to edit and rewrite some things (grammatical errors, ugh), but that's the joy of writing stories, am I right? Lol.
Currently working on:
The Fire Still Burns Within (ATLA fanfic, Zutara)
I was inspired to write this because of another Zutara fanfic, My Heart Burns for You by alwayszutarian (best Zutara fanfic ever created!). I also really like Mrs. Pettyfer's The Black Games and The Rise of One. I'm new to this shipping so I hope no one blows a steam if I don't write the characters as accurately (it may be OOC, it may not). I know there's bound to be criticism when it comes to a person's skill and knowledge in writing, but I always say that since you're the writer of the story you have the power to manipulate and write the original story in however way you envisioned it, and if people have a problem with that, they could just try writing a story for themselves and see how it works out for them.
Sorry my honest opinion, no offence to anyone.
Also Zuko and Katara should have been canon. Zutarians know this and I might not have that big of a problem with Kataang (okay, maybe I might have lied, I do have a problem with it, heh heh), but yeah, it certainly does not mean I wanted it to happen.
Maiko? *deadpan* I really hate that emotionless face of hers, stupid bored looking girl. Big blah anyways. Zuko, you deserve way better and we all know it. I hope to give you that chance.
(Side note: Can't wait to see the Zutara Project Finale that bluetarako is working on with Deviantart artists. It's still being worked on, but I have faith that it will be finished one day. Thank you dedicated Zutarians for keeping our shipping alive and thank you Dante Basco (Zuko's voice) for contributing to the Zutarian fandom. You are my hero and I cherish you.)
Zuko is now Fire Lord after having defeated his sister in an Agni Kai and Aang defeating his father as was his destiny to save the world and bring balance to the world again.
Known as a just ruler and a honorable leader, Zuko had dedicated most of his time on rebuilding the Fire Nation to its once former glory, and though his nation has gained some trust and respect since the war, he always felt like there was something missing in his life, something he's always yearned for but never actually got. And after fours years of duty and work, he gets an unexpected visit from his friends and a certain waterbender, and suddenly he knows why he's felt so empty before.
However, before he could act on this new feeling, another cold dreadful feeling has replaced the warm fire that would burn in his heart upon the revelation that he was in love, and he realizes that this feeling may have to do with said woman that he was in love with and that it was foreboding.
The feeling rings true when he learns of the death of Katara by a letter given to him by Sokka in which he describes a raid that had been orchestrated by a group of rebels who had attacked the Water Tribe ship that was on its way to the Fire Nation, and had killed Katara in the process.
(Coincidence? I think not ;)
Devastated by this news, Zuko goes into a hysterical state, losing his temper in his anguish and almost burning down his palace. He contemplates suicide and attempts it in a moment of weakness and vulnerability, but he, however, dies instead of a broken heart.
(What could I say? He never thinks things through, even after these past four years--well, it is the matters of the heart.)
Zuko and Katara are reunited and are happy to see each other, but the Spirits are not pleased with this turn of events of both the Fire Lord's and Master Waterbender's death, so as a punishment for Zuko's reckless actions (Agni's decision), he is still stuck with the scar his father had given him until he could finally return to the Spirit World, but now on destiny's terms.
To ensure that the balance is restored to the world, Zuko and Katara are brought to life again, but as newborns, reliving their lives among the Sacred Temples of the Gods--being trained as skilled fighters in both combat, swordsmanship, and bending so that they could infiltrate the Fire Nation being ruled by Ozai again, and take back the throne which rightfully belongs to Zuko. But this time with Katara at his side.
[In this story, Zuko and Katara are bonded for life. (Twin flames theme implied here)]
The Vampire Diaries: The Prodigy (Book Vampire Diaries fanfic, Delena)
This picks up where it left off in The Vampire Diaries: The Midnight book. If you haven't read L.J Smith's The Vampire Diaries series, oh man, you are missing out. I first started reading these books in the 10th grade when I was on a school field trip to Italy during Spring Break. I immediately fell in love with Damon's character. I have to say the dynamics and affinity he shared with the protagonist Elena, wow, it was truly a phenomenal thing and a master romance to behold, and although I didn't like Elena in the beginning, I later found that I really judged her too quickly. I sort of created my own plot that strays from the rest of the books that was written by a ghostwriter. Anyways, I hope to upload this soon. Delena fans need their ending.
Damon and Elena are twin flames. They are different, but so alike. They just have such beautiful scenes together in the books.
L.J. Smith's work can never be bested. This is an author that creates true pure magic (check out her website!). One of the best romance, horror, fantasy, teen novelists in the world. My wish is to carry out the story that should have been Delena.
[Still being written, but I will post it when I have it done.]
Fast Six: Too Dangerous for the World (The Fast and Furious fanfic, Dotty)
I recently watched the Fast and Furious 6 movie and although it was good, I felt that it hadn't really lived up to my expectations because of my version for the story. Don't worry, it's still good if you haven't watched it, it's just not what I expected. I never believed in all worked out in Dom's favor in the end...kind of a bummer, but oh well.
Alright so I created this story with a mafia theme in mind since there was a slight possibility (a slim chance, actually) that this was the reason why she was gone for so long. I liked the idea of Letty being pissed off at Dom for leaving her because we all know that Dom doesn't make the smartest decisions and sometimes they could even end in disaster, but he does have the best intentions when it comes to his family. He has a strong code of family and this idea was really implemented in the sixth movie as it was in the fifth. I wanted to do the same for Letty, but instead of , she has this strong sense of loyalty towards another family--her own crew and this Italian man she may or may not fall in love with.
Dominic Toretto and the crew are done with the heists. They've taken on Rio, Brazil and left their mark.
Content with their lives, they settle down into peaceful ways. But their safety is threatened once again when DSS agent Luke Hobbs catches up with them (just not in the way they think).
They end up in Berlin, Germany, a city known for devious acts: gangs, street racing, explosions, and lots of bloodshed.
Dom, along with Brian and the rest, have to help Han and Gisele who have signed up for another job and are in trouble against other gangs, including the Russian mafia. However, nobody is prepared when they encounter a woman who everyone presumed was dead back in L.A. Especially Dom.
Now he either has to make a plan to catch the girl whose life had much more value and meaning than his or let the love he once knew slip away through his fingers and never be whole as a family again.
(Side note: I'd like to know where there is story is going, but as it is, I'm still in the mind process of figuring out what's happening myself and carting it in that direction. I hope to finish this someday.)
There are other fanfics in the work, but I won't post them until I get a general outline and plot for each story. I will update later about the progress of these stories, but for now I think I'll take my leave.
So until next time, this is larosa19 aka Themoonchildlover.
