"Sometimes I pretend to myself I have insomnia, when all I really have is a good book and an inadequate respect for tomorrow." - Unknown
About me - Well, I'm insane really. I'm single and live with my cat - just one cat. I swear I'm not getting any more. Really. I love to read and this site has let me rediscover writing, which I haven't done since I was a teenager. Forgotten how much I love it. I'm a huge sugar addict, quite juvenile, a romantic at heart, a red belt senior in Nam Wah Pai Kung Fu, can be rather judgemental at times, though I'm trying to work on that, and am obsessed with the colour purple. My favourite author as a kid/teenager was Tamora Peirce and I absolutely love Nora Roberts/J D Robb now. I'm a twin and have a niece and nephew whom I absolutely adore.
I love Harry Potter (the books a lot more than the movies), Charmed, Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, though not as much, Twilight (again the books more than the movies), anything X-Men, Once Upon a Time, True Blood, Gilmour Girls and many more that I can't think of at the moment.
My very overflowing bookcases are full of books by J R Ward, David Eddings, L J Smith, Suzanne Collins, Christopher Paolini, Nicholas Sparks, J K Rowling, Tamora Pierce, and I have nearly a full bookcase dedicated in itself to Nora Roberts and J D Robb.
To sum up the get-to-know-me part, I'm really a full blown geek... and damn proud of it too. :D
Okay, so if the ramblings above haven't put you off, and you want to read my fics (please do!), here's some things you should (or maybe just want) to know:
My OC's - apart from the plots, the only parts of my stories I own.
1. Rosalyn Anna Parker (Rosie) - To Love The Unwanted/Taking The Plunge
Holy crickets Batman, I just realized how many I had! Wowzers!
Anyway, on with the boring but essential stuff. I don't have a OTP, I'll ship almost anything including slash and femslash. The only exceptions to that rule that I've found of this so far (unless the relationship is secondary and critical to the plot) are as follows:
1. A teacher/student relationship in Harry Potter - only because I find it weird to have such a large age gap. A 17-year-old or younger falling for someone in their late 30's or older? Not for me, but that's just my personal opinion.
2. Bella and Edward in Twilight - I don't really like Edward and besides, the books are all about them and I came to this site to read stories about the smaller, seemingly less important characters. Unless, of course, it's Jasper. ;)
3. Chris and Bianca in Charmed - not ever going to happen unless I get to break them up. Really hate the bitch.
I'm open to requests, so if you have something you feel I just need to write, let me know! (This would be awesome if you did! What an ego boost!)
I'm a rather slow updater, but that's because I can't help writing a new idea when it pops into my head, which means I'll have God knows how many stories active at one time. Never fear, though, I will finish all stories I start, even if it takes a really long time. Hiatuses are well and good, even healthy at times, but I don't at all believe in discontinuing or abandoning. If that happens - and it never will - I'll take the story down altogether. I hate the thought of getting people's hopes up, letting them get caught up in a story, and then stopping it abruptly with no clear ending, leaving everyone hanging. It sucks when that happens, so I vow that I will never let it happen.
In regards to my Madness series, I wrote and posted Stark Raving Mad first, intending for it to only be a one-shot, then wrote and posted its sequel, Coveting Madness, and then wrote and posted the first chapter of the prequel to both of them, Madness Born. You can read them like that if you wish, or you can wait until Madness Born is complete, then read Stark Raving Mad, then read Coveting Madness. It works either way and is entirely up to the reader.
I'm also currently co-writing a Charmed story called Undercover with the amazing CharmedOpal. It's over on her profile and it's Chris/OC. It's a great story! Go check it out! If you don't want to do that, here's the link. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9849927/1/Undercover
If you're following Wild Birds and you're interested in what Jojo's bike (Jolene) looks like, here's the link.
Well, that's it I guess. Hope you all enjoy my stories! Oh, hold on, better put this in here...
WARNING! - Some of my stories may contain triggers! Though there's nothing too descriptive in them, I did choose angst as one of my genres for a reason, so please keep this in mind.
Right, now that's it. Proceed and enjoy!
I, rlassie, do solemnly swear to review all the fanfics I read, regardless of the number of reviews, its age, or anything else. I have joined the review revolution. Join and make an authors' day!
