Hello...I'm much more active on A03, but every once in awhile I stop by here.
I've shipped Harry Potter/Tom Riddle ever since book 6, and they have the honor of being my first same-sex pairing. I rarely like same-gender couples who aren't canon; most of the time they're just vassals for living out the author's fantasy with one of them. But I fully endorse this couple for a number of reasons. They are very much alike: they were both loathed by people supposed to take care of them; they were bullied as children; they found a home in Hogwarts; each idolized his father (with...obvious results); and most of all both pack a zest for life.
Long-story short they have so very much in common. And given Harry's similarities to Tom, he might be the only one who could teach him and help him understand love.
Dumbledore/McGonagall (in a world where Albus was straight, this would have totally happened)
Merope/Ollivander (thanks to this fic: http://archiveofourown.org/works/278754 )
Wolfstar; I could only ever see them as friends.
Let it be known that I wholeheartedly despise the Malfoy's (a pretty little snot is still a little snot), and would not subject any being to their romantic attentions outside canon.
No incest pairings, no combining characters who obviously hate each other, no pairing characters who have nothing more in common than their organs, and hardly any Next-Gen pairings, as we know too little about the characters to ship them with anyone.
The Harry Potter Survey
1. If you went to Hogwarts which house would you be Sorted in?
2. What would be your patronus?
3. Have you ever been to the HP midnight release?
4. What did you think of the Deathly Hallows?
It is my favorite out of the entire series.
5. How many times have you reread the books?
I've re-read Chamber of Secrets and the Epilogue a few times. Don't wanna overkill it.
6. Who's death was the saddest?
I can't really choose: they're all sad. Sirius was Harry's first father. Dobby died saving his life. Harry died a little inside when Hedwig was killed. And Fred's was over in a minute. Remus and Tonks...they were two of the best characters. And Snape's was just...DAMN.
7. If you went to Hogwarts would you rather have an owl, a cat, or a rat?
Owl. Great break from the ordinary.
8. What do you think of the movie Half-Blood Prince?
I stopped watching the movies after they trampled "Goblet of Fire."
9. What do you think of the Deathly Hallows being split in two?
Ideally smart, if they didn't botch up a lot of major events.
10. Have you read the Tales of Beedle the Bard?
11. When did you first become a Potter fan?
From the first sentence.
Professor McGonagall (AKA Professor BAMF).
Harry. He's humanity. He's not mushy, but he feels, and he's not this prodigal, super-powerful guy, and he doesn't try to be. He's just a boy who had way too much forced on his shoulders, but tries to do the right thing. And that's what makes him awesome.
REMUS LUPIN! WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT!
Nagini (and yes, she counts)
Hmmm...tough one... I'll have to go with Basilisks.
"Dying? Not at all. Quicker and easier than falling asleep."
This was probably one of the most gripping lines; I don't know if it's my favorite or not but it was very hooking. Sirius and Harry should've gotten more time together...
First, it's the most book-accurate.
They're all awesome, and I'd gladly be Sorted into any.
