Author has written 8 stories for Avengers, and Prey.
I'm an "older" female writer currently living in Central California. I have been writing fanfiction for about sixteen years, mostly in the Prey and Space: Above and Beyond universes (all published through a yahoo group). I have been working on an original novel and am taking a break while I await my first rejections. I have (no surprise based on my heroines) red hair and green/blue/grey hazel eyes.
I have been loving the movie take on the Avengers characters, and particularly Tom Hiddleston's portrayal of Loki. Such a nuanced performance he gave! Sadly, darling Tom is young enough to be my son, so I'll have to focus my attention on Loki the character to avoid looking like a total cougar. Such a sacrifice!
Eventually, I'll transfer the rest of my Prey fiction here, but it might take a while.
Most of my updates will be on weekends, I do have a mundane job and a husband that need my attention, plus my original fiction series in progress.
Oh, and I am a Reiki Master and Pranic Healer as well as an empathic psychic. I'm having fun wildly exaggerating what those healing methodologies and abilities can do in my fiction!
1. Homonym abuse:
a) Bare - nakedness, whether of body or soul.
or Bear - an ursine, or to carry a burden of some sort or a euphemism for pregnant.
b) Peace - of mind or soul; absence of war.
or Piece - a section of something.
c) Their - belonging to them.
or They're - they are.
or There - a place that is not here.
d) Your - belonging to you.
or You're - you are.
HAD TO ADD ONE
e) Due - amount or time due.
or Do - make do or to accomplish something, as in I will do it.
or Dew - the dew dampened grass.
2. Entirely wrong word used (acyrologia):
a) Definitely - done with purpose and determination.
or Defiantly - done with a definant (confrontational) attitude.
This last one seems to confuse MANY of the fanfic writers, probably because defiantly is a real word and does not trigger either spell or grammar check. I see scores of instances with defiantly used instead of definitely. It totally changes the context of the conversation or action involved. Just don't do it, please!
3. Saying that your summary sucks or that your summary is bad. Seriously, if you think your summary does not reflect your story properly, rewrite it. If you can't be bothered to believe in your summary, why should I be interested in your story? It does not entice me to give your story a chance; it's a major turn-off. Be confident. Do your best job on it, and OWN it. It's yours, be proud, be loud, don't talk down your work!
Okay, rant over.
P.S. I own nothing except my OCs and the situations they find themselves in. If you recognize the characters from anywhere else, someone else owns them. I am making no profit from writing these stories, they are written soley for my enjoyment and the enjoyment of my fellow fans.
I do, in fact, have videotaped permission from William (Bill) Schmidt, the creator of Prey to write Prey fan fiction - all of us do, so long as we make no money from it. I have no such permission from Marvel for writing in their universe...I hope they take my writings as the tribute they are intended to be.
If my stories get policed here, I will move them to AO3 (Archive of our own) website, I've already set up an account there under the same pen name.
I also have an AO3 account: The only thing there that isn't also here is a totally smut story called "Rewards" which is a companion piece to "Loki Does Las Vegas" wherein Loki grants the use of his Toy to those he feels are deserving of reward.
