Mar 9th 2018: Finally. My PC didn't arrive in a workable condition :( It's now all fixed. Now to start sorting all my notes into something I can put up here! I haven't disappeared. Onwards!
Feb 21st 2018: Hi folks! I’m all moved back to Gibraltar now from the UK and all my crap (“Prized Personal Posessions” as the movers call it) has just arrived today. Once I get my desk and PC all sorted it’s back to the frantic updates! Unfortunately I can’t just feed my hand written notes into Word. One day.
Jan 24th 2018: I am in the process of moving house now, and this has become complicated by a relative suddenly dying (natural causes). I'm writing, slowly, in my free time. I emigrate to my new home on 4th Feb, so the posting of new chapters will become more regular and frequent again after that point. Thanks for your patience!
Jan 16th 2018: Well then. I've had my last day at work, and I'm now packing, sorting and getting ready to move in a couple weeks. Updates will be slower, but they'll happen. Hoping for the next one in a day or two. Thanks for reading and being patient!
Dec 31st 2017: Happy New Year! And Happy New Chapter!
Dec 24th 2017: New chapter up. Merry Christmas all!
Dec 17th 2017: 3 chapters in a week, and the next one half done. My beta reader probably won't recover. Unfortunately I won't be able to keep this up over Christmas, but I will be able to manage at least once a week. Very excited to be back in action! Thank you for all the support! Merry Christmas!!!!!
Dec 12th 2017: Well. Look what happened. A chapter for Shattered Souls. My beta reader is still recovering from the shock.
The Dark Ranger Series (in order as to how they happen in lore)
Fires of Rebirth
The Farstrider Chronicles (in order as to how they happen in lore - these are all set BEFORE the Dark Ranger series)
How To Solve A Problem Like Alyna
Leap of Faith
Enough is Enough
Three Little Words
Truth Be Told
Coming soon ... I'm currently working on an AU of the Dark Ranger series that greatly changes the fates of Sylvanas and Alyna. I've decided I won't post it until the first story is complete, but since I'm getting asked about it I thought I would announce it. So ... watch this space!
A note on Star Trek: Phoenix - When I started this, I had plans for several 'episodes' and a beautiful, if complicated, plot that spanned the entire 'season'. I spent over 100 hours on this, and had dozens of scenes sketched out across the series. I also did the dumbest thing in my entire life and did not back any of it up ... so when my hard drive shredded itself a couple years ago I lost the whole damn lot except for what I had already uploaded to this site and sent to my beta reader. All my character profiles, timelines, plot notes, side plot notes, sketches (I had sketches!), stellar calculations ... all gone. I can't begin to explain how I felt about this, and I stopped writing for 14 months with the shock of it. Now I am writing regularly again, and I have been starting to very slowly piece Phoenix's plot back together. I have not forgot about Phoenix - and at the very least, I will finish the episode currently showing. It's just going to be a while as I want to do it the justice it deserves.
As a possible bonus to all this ... in an effort to rediscover who Captain Taggart was to me, I actually began writing about her early years in Starfleet. I fully plan to post that up one day too when it's done. I've realised she was quite interesting as a young officer!
Suffice to say, I now back everything I write up in three different locations, just in case.
A note on reviews - I've allowed guest reviews because ... I'm not sure why, actually. It does irk me though that I have no way to reply to guest reviews, but I suppose that's why people do that. Which is a shame, because I think if you want to provide critical feedback, I may even wish to ask questions in return. In response to a particular review, and also in general, Dark Ranger is a long running series that has plots within plots. I appreciate that is not always evident, and that is the point, but taking things at face value with my stories and knee-jerk reacting without seeing what follows is a waste of your time, and it just makes you look like a jerk. You want to help with your words? Take the two minutes to create an account and have a conversation with me. I can't learn from a block of scathing rhetoric that doesn't know the big picture. Make an account, make your review, and start the conversation. Or shut up, stop reading, and move on.
