Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. A Bit About Me Hey! So my name is Ella and I've been reading FanFiction far longer then I've been on this site. I'm currently studying art and spend most of my time drawing fan art, and occasionally writing FanFiction! I live in Australia so if any of my writing has any 'Australian' slang in it I'll do my best to explain it! I have green eyes, Dark brown hair and am incredibly short; But what I lack in height I make up for in social awkwardness! I'm 18 yrs old and was born on a Friday the 13th! I've been sorted into Gryffindor on Pottermore If I do post any fiction it will most likely be from Harry Potter, Dragon Age or Tolkien :) Fandoms Harry Potter The first fandom I ever got into, I've loved the book and movie series since I was 7 years old. My favourite book and movie is 'Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban', one of the reasons being that it introduces two of my favourite characters Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, and secondly because it has the best story in my opinion. I started reading fan fiction for Harry Potter when I was 12 years old, and have recently decided to try my hand at it as well :) Favourite Characters: Harry Potter- I love Harry so much! Book Harry is my favourite because he's so sarcastic and snarky at times. When I write Harry I will probably write him as being more active and smart then canon, because honestly he really has the potential to be in the books but certain things usually keep him back *cough-Ron-cough* He's also one of my favourite heroes, after all the crap he goes through and receives he still stays strong and doesn't go insane from all the pressure. I mean he comes from an abusive and unloving family, makes it through the wizarding equivalent of High School and takes down a Dark Lord while everyone screams abuse from the sidelines. Luna Lovegood- My favourite female character in Harry Potter without a doubt. Luna is individual and unique, even though everyone puts her down she stays strong in herself and her identity. She is extremely empathetic and kind regardless of the things she has been through such as her mothers' death and the bullying she suffers. As a character she really helped me to embrace my own individuality and my weirdness! I loved Luna in both the movies and books, Evanna Lynch was perfect as her and any scene with her in it were my favourite. Hermione Granger- I love how Hermione is not only smart but emotional. Usually you see women portrayed as one of the two, but Hermione is strong and full rounded as an individual who defined not only by her brains by by her heart. I prefer book Hermione just a tiny bit over movie Hermione, mainly because most of her flaws are looked over in the movies-but Emma Watson is just the pinnacle of humanity, I love her :D Neville Longbottom- All hail Neville! I love how Neville's character evolved from being this shy and unassuming individual to being this super bad ass who just beheads Nagini like it's nobody's business. He really comes into himself through being part of the DA and wanting to avenge his parents, and in all honesty I would have preferred if he made up the other third of the Golden Trio. He comes from an unloving background (his grandmother always see's him as his father, not as an individual and he was dropped off a balcony by his Great-Uncle. DROPPED OFF A BALCONY) and is forced to accept the fact that his parents will always just be out his reach. Then for most of his life at Hogwarts he keeps to himself, it's never mentioned that he ever made any meaningful friendships like Dean and Seamus before he decides to do something for himself in standing up for what's right. In most of my fics you'll find Neville playing a big part in Harry's life, since he is one of the only people in his life who actually stays with him through thick and thin. Sirius Black- Sirius has such a tragic life it's completely ridiculous, I mean he get's the raw deal so bad in the Harry Potter books. He has such a terrible abusive home life, then he finally gets friends and family in the Marauders before one of the people who means so much to him betrays him in the most horrific of ways. He loses his best friend to his other friend and he personally feels as though he's betrayed Remus' trust by believing that he of all people could have been the spy. Then he is tossed into hell on Earth without a trial and is forced to relive the worst memories of his life over and over. But through everything his love for Harry is so strong that he breaks out of an unbreakable prison just so he can keep Harry safe. Sirius will always be alive in my fics, or if he's dead I'll go and grab out a time turner because someone needs to give him a break. I mean really A FREAKING CURTAIN KILLS HIM ARE YOU KIDDING- Remus Lupin- Remus also has a ridiculously tragic life, I mean come on...He's bitten by a werewolf when he's young because of a slight his father made and from then on is forced to accept the fact that he is now a second class citizen who everyone either fears or despises. He finally catches a break when he goes to Hogwarts and makes friends before he loses them all within the span of a few days and is alone again. I could go on forever about the crap in his life but summarily he's always fair, understanding and kind. And I have never been more angry at Snape for getting HIM FIRED YOU ASSHOLE. Regulus Black- If you want to love a Slytherin, then love this Slytherin. Unlike Snape (whom I despise seeing as how I personally know what it's like to be tormented by a teacher for years on end and no I don't consider wanting to bone Lily Evans as being a good enough reason to mentally abuse and torment kids) Regulus is bloody hero with one of the best unseen redemption arcs of the whole series. He see's how Voldemort treats Kreacher, a house elf who is considered to be the lowest of society, and revolts against the blood purity and bigotry of his time. As Sirius once said, 'If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors not his equals.' And who is lower then the common house elf? It frustrates me so much that Sirius never found out about his brothers turn around, that he never found out that he rebelled against his family and Voldemort directly and that he died believing that his brother was a Death Eater who simply 'got in too deep'. Yet another mark on my "Times Sirius Black Does Not Catch A Break" chart. Sigh* For all you Snape lovers out there I admit that he is brave and yes I enjoyed reading him in the books...but that does not mean that I like him. And I don't. At All. Favourite Ships Harry Potter/Luna Lovegood James Potter/Lily Evans Hermione Granger/George Weasley - I'm a sucker for the prankster/bookworm cliché, and George is the calmer of the two so I think Hermione's sanity would stay intact for far, far, far longer then it would with Ron at any rate. Even though Hermione does have her moments with Fred (it was a canon ship at one point!) which are completely adorable, I think George won me over on this. |
