In 2003, newly married, working and studying, I joined this forum because there was a story, that just needed to be told. That story was Choices.

After reading "The Order of the Phoenix", this was something I needed to get out of my head, so I started writing. The road was longer than I had expected, and I didn't want to walk it alone. Sharing is caring. ;-) That is why I started publishing.

Many of you have pushed me, in the nicest possible way, when updates took too long and it kept me motivated. I knew the end, I just had to get there.

Then life got - complicated. Too many roads needed to be walked and many of them were not broad enough for company. The luggage got heavier as well. And then I just ... stopped. Stopped walking. Stopped writing. Stopped a lot of things.

By the time I managed to get up again, a lot of time had passed. "The Half Blood Prince" was out in the world, rendering my story mute, or so it felt. I was sad and angry, mostly at myself. So I left poor Severus hanging. It took me two decades to get over my ego and finish what I started. Severus hates me for it, I'm sure.

As of today we are at most three chapters away from the end and I feel grateful.

Thank you for everyone who stuck by me, who kept pushing, who didn't let this rest.

I heard you.

I have already received multiple requests from artists offering their services, and while I respect their work, I have no intention of paying for artwork for a non-commercial fanfiction. Please do not send me PMs about commissions. Repeated messages, insistence, or guilt-tripping will not change my decision.
