Yeah, so teaching first grade? Not a cake walk. Especially if you consider that I went to college to learn how to teach HIGH SCHOOL. Instead of teaching eighteen-year-olds about Keynesian Economics, I'm now teaching six-to-seven-year-olds the difference between a penny and a nickel and a dime are... BUT, I have a job, which is more than some people can say, so I'll shut up about it now.
I've got about a billion different directions that I can go for DP, and I haven't decided which way to take. Or rather, I can't decide. I think my inner muse can sense that this is coming to an end and he's (he's definitely a he; no wonder I can't pick a direction - he won't read the map! XD) balking at the thought. It doesn't help that I'm burnt out on DBZ, and have been for a long time, if you haven't noticed. However, I'm still going to give it my best shot to finish in a satisfying manner. I'm anticipating two, three more chapters, but I could be wrong! Spring break is a week away, so maybe I'll dig a trench and hunker down for the long haul. I hope so.
I've got more ideas, though for different shows and movies and whatnot. Really into Sherlock right now, and I've got an interesting idea that will likely have me flagged on the NSA watch list because I'm looking up worrisome stuff. Like the difference between strangulation and choking (never knew the difference until a couple of weeks ago - interesting stuff!). So, yeah, if you're looking for any more DBZ stuff past DP, I'm sorry to cause you disappointment, but it won't be happening, at least for a good while. At least I've learned my lesson - I'll always prewrite the story from now on!
Sic Veta Est Duo - DBZ
Thus Is Life
Alea Iacta Est (completed 23 March 2009)
According to Suetonius, Julius Caesar said "alea iacta est" in 49 BC upon crossing the Rubicon. This action plunged the Roman Empire into civil war; the Rubicon was the border of Gaul, the province where Caesar was allowed to keep his army, and when he crossed the river he was technically "invading" Italy. With this action, he had passed the point of no return. I felt that this was an appropriate title for the story - Gohan's mere presence in the past changed the future irrevocably and with his decisions later on, he will have truly passed the point of no return.
De Profundis (incomplete; started 1 June 2009, updated on 20 May 2011)
"De profundis," or "from the depths," refers to drawing someone out of the depths of depression or misery. Gohan's experiences with Bardock and Raditz as well as his possession of Babadi have left deep marks in his mind, both good and bad. He has to struggle to come to terms with all that has happened and in doing so will try to raise himself from the depths of his depression.
Rice Ball (completed 1 August 2008)
Breathing (completed 26 September 2008)
That Crazy Little Thing Called Love (completed 25 December 2008)
Stepping Down (completed 25 July 2008)
Not What It Seems (completed 21 April 2009)
Agglutination (completed 13 May 2009)
The Hat (completed 31 December 2010)
Monster (completed I don't know when, but published here 16 November 2013)
