Author has written 73 stories for Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, Peter Pan, Spider-Man, Young Wizards, Lord of the Rings, Enchanted Forest, Diana Wynne Jones, and Labyrinth. I've been writing on FanFiction.net for a long, long time. I started on here as a teenager with the username TeenTypist. Given that I'm very much no longer a teenager, I finally decided to update my name. However, I'm cognizant of the fact that sometimes people like to look up their old favorite stories again. To that end, I've given myself a new name--DragonGrin--but I've tacked on "former TeenTypist" to the end of it, so anyone still looking for TeenTypist will still find me. As inspiration hits, I'll work on everything again, it just takes time--a lot of stories stopped at specific points because I'm not sure how to get where I want to go in them. I don't work with outlines...I don't have the stories finished before I post them. I probably should, but it's not how I write. If you're interested in keeping up with my rather sporadically updated blog, you can find me here. It covers my adventures in cooking, fan fiction, NaNoWriMo, and making things. I haven't updated this in a while, but I do have some fan art on DeviantArt if you want to check it out. My DeviantArt site is filled with Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, and Chrestomanci fan art. In Progress Stories and Recent 1-Shots Not A Library -- "This isn't the library, Granger." She squinted at the figure approaching, though the voice was enough to give him away. She blinked, a little surprised to see him there. Wherever Draco finds her, Granger always has a book in her hands. (2 chapters up, will probably be 4 or 5) Alone in a Crowd -- Hermione stared down at her drink, contemplating her life. They'd broken off into the obvious couples after the War. She and Ron. Harry and Ginny. Saving the world made you feel pretty damn good about life. It didn't last. New Year's Eve brings out a lot of thoughts. And sometimes, people won't leave you alone while you're thinking. EWE. HG/DM, depression, set 5 years after the war. COMPLETE. No Mistletoe Necessary, Finnegan's Wake and Charming are new ground for me. I've started exploring a bit of Seamus/Hermione, through these 1-shots. No Mistletoe Necessary is 8th year Christmas fluff. Finnegan's wake is set as an 8th year fic, and is short, fluffy, and not too romantic. Charming is fun, and flirty, and could be a sixth year missing scene fic. Mugglefied Check it out. More Draco. More Hermione. EWE story set after Deathly Hallows; on Harry's urging for leniency on Draco's sentence, the Wizengamot sentences him to 1 year without magic. COMPLETE. The Professor is another EWE story, Draco-centric (no Dramione pairing this time around). Like Severus Snape before him, Draco seeks refuge in the halls of Hogwarts in the aftermath of the war. Fairly short chapters with glimpses into the life of Professor Malfoy. Unforgivable is my take on the straw that broke the Hippogriff's back and ended Lily and Petunia's relationship. Becoming Millie tells the story of how and why the Living Asheth will now forever be Millie. Seeing reviews in my inbox always puts a smile on my face, so thank you to everyone who takes the time to review. It keeps me writing. I realize I have a LOT of stories posted on here (quality and content kind of varies by when it was written), so I thought I'd streamline the list a bit. Most Popular: A Lily in the Water -- Short and sweet scene between Lily and James (pre-any LJ coupling) with shenanigans by Sirius. Same universe as all stories labeled PFA (Potter Family Album). Footies -- An excuse to see what all of the Hogwarts crowd wears to bed, and to have a late night chat with Luna Lovegood. Conversations with a Hat -- Every student that passes through Hogwarts gets to spend a little 1-on-1 time with the sorting at. (Note: a couple of the characters may be sorted into a non-canon house, due to author error) Switched -- An argument and a bet lead Lily and James to switch bodies. Your typical body swap fic in a lot of ways I'm sure, but also plenty atypical. We Were Here -- Not quite finished, but maybe someday. Harry discovers messages from the Marauders in his dormitory. Mama, Tell Me the Story -- Hermione tells the story of her first awkward kiss with Ron, and a much more romantic second kiss (written pre-OOTP). Law and Marriage -- My take on the marriage law challenge, turned on it's head. Nominated for Energize's WIP award. Slow-burn Dramione story. Mugglefied Check it out. More Draco. More Hermione. EWE story set after Deathly Hallows; on Harry's urging for leniency on Draco's sentence, the Wizengoamot sentences him to 1 year without magic. My Favorites: Alone in a Crowd -- This one was really cathartic to write; it felt like it really needed to be written. A lot of people told me it resonated with them regarding depression, and just trying to figure out your place. Trust Me -- One of my favorite things I've written, and just about the only time I've really tried to write Pettigrew. Severus gives Lily one last warning not to trust James's friends and the Potters choose a secret keeper. How did Peter end up as the secret keeper when Lily and James told Dumbledore they were going to use Sirius? Mugglefied Check it out. More Draco. More Hermione. EWE story set after Deathly Hallows; on Harry's urging for leniency on Draco's sentence, the Wizengoamot sentences him to 1 year without magic. Law and Marriage -- My take on the marriage law challenge, turned on it's head. Rather than requiring Muggle-borns to marry Purebloods to grow the wizarding population after the war, the Ministry decrees that Pureblood households must intermarry with half-bloods or Muggle-borns to prevent another wizarding war. If there are no more Purebloods and blood-status doesn't matter anymore, there won't be another war, right? Yeah, that's real great thinking... This Is Supposed to Be My Happy Ending? -- My alternative to the epilogue. If you've made it this far, you can probably see that I'm a big fan of EWE. No cookie cutter endings here, just frustrated individuals trying to move on after the war has torn apart their lives. Probably complete at this point; chapters on Harry, Ginny, Neville, Hermione, and Draco. Can I Keep Him? -- I've always had a soft spot for Neville. This is a Neville/Ginny story I started in high school and finished after college and a hiatus from writing. Slowburn. |
