I write compulsively and I have ever since I was little. It helps my brain keep from exploding. I was introduced to the action-fantasy genre when I was six and shounen anime when I was twelve, and after that there was no going back for me. Fanfiction is how I interact with my favorite historical figures and story lines. My favorite fandoms are Naruto, Bleach, Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, Smallville, and the Dark Knight series, although I have plenty of others. I am also interested in Tudor history and mid-twentieth century rock history. I read both heterosexual and homosexual pairings, and I don't believe in OTPs. I generally write alone and don't have enough free time to beta.
I am also a music lover and musician of sorts, a poet, an artist, a blogger, a short story author, an avid reader, a movie buff, a photographer, a city architecture lover, a Caucasian with some Cherokee Native American ancestral background, and a female unpublished student slogging through college. I am interested in the social sciences, culture, travel, and politics. I am Spiritual But Not Religious. I am a political moderate. I am sexually open. I try to be open-minded. I am also a perfectionist, so if I favorite or alert something you've written, you'll know I really liked it. I do take questions concerning myself or my writing, so if you have any, please feel free to send me a message letting me know. If I find the exchange particularly relevant, I may even post it up on my profile.
Please Note: I have studied Japan and Japanese suffixes fairly extensively and I have a Japanese penpal I am currently trading cultural information with. This doesn't mean I can't make mistakes when it comes to writing fanfiction for a Japanese fandom, but I do my research and I would appreciate it if everyone involved made sure they did the same before they went on to criticize me by saying I have misunderstood something about Japan, Japanese culture, or Japanese language. Please don't assume that watching anime means you know everything.
My username is, obviously, a combination of two words. The primrose stands for passionate love, while the word grim, which is a front for primrose, always emanates from something that seems dark or forbidding. I liked how the two words sounded put together, and I thought the symbolism behind the name was appropriate considering a combination of darkness and love is one of my main interests in stories. Somewhat relatedly, my author avatar is a miniature of the painting Blood by Leslie Shows, circa 2011.
I, grimrose, do solemnly swear to review all the fics I read, regardless of the number of views, its age, or anything else. I have joined the review revolution.
