Our lives are made, in these small hours
"Little Wonders," by Rob Thomas
Laughing is probably my favorite past time.
Thank You! If you're here, it means you might want to read what I'm all about, and that means a lot to me, so much I can't express it in words, so thanks :)
I'm Lara. I'm a teenager, and I live in the US. I like to run, and I play the flute. To be honest, its funny that I even started writing, because there are two types of english teachers: ones that accept my bs essays, and ones that don't; and I'm pursuing a career in civil engineering. And I'm also in love with reading. And TV. And movies. And FOOD. And lots of things, really. But mostly reading. I dislike a lot of things, but I find focusing on them is just a waste of time.
The Current Avatar: The first picture I took when I was officially at college.
My, in which I post the occasional drawing.
My, in which I fangirl and write and post about life, the universe, and everything.
And also funnies.
To any of my readers or reviewers: I am incredibly grateful to you and to everything you do. I try and get back to every single one of you, but if I don't, I just need you to know how thankful I am to you. The fact that other people told me I could write has been the most humbling experience in the world and you, my readers, are the reason I write. again, (can't say it enough) THANK YOU!
Also, you're all very obviously well-versed in the fanfiction world, and if you find something you think I would enjoy, I absolutely have to read it! Please send it to me! I'm always looking for something great to read, and if something you write that you're proud of, or something someone else wrote that you found amazing goes along with what I like to read (see my fangirl section :P) I'd love to read it!
Thank you to my beta! juliana677, my best friend since kindergarten, who has the most awesome avatar ever. Thank you, Jewels! You're amazing!
To anyone more observant than I, and to those good with language:
1. I am not British, and I spell a couple of words wrong anyway :P I try hard to get the slang down pat, most of it from information websites and from reading fanfiction, but if you notice something weird, or something extremely obvious that only someone like me would miss, it would be wonderful if you could let me know so I don't make a fool of myself.
2. (THE IMPORTANT ONE) I have a severly extensive headcanon, and all my stories are connected. If you notice any incosistensies, I'm only human, please please please notify immediately, whether it be how I spelled the name of an original character, the date of a specific event, or a quidditch position of a next gen member.
I try so hard to keep everything up to scratch, but my best is what I want to give and to give that I could use your help. Thanks :)
That's basically everything important I have to say. You probably want to read stories now, so check out the list on this profile :) Or you could go learn more about me, though why you would want to do that is beyond me :P
An index, for your personal guidance:
ii. My Favorite Things: Books, Movies, TV Shows, People, Music, YouTube, FANFICS.
iii. My Groups: forums I'm a part of and what I do on them.
iv. My Fangirl Side: What I like, Ships I sail, etc.
v. Quotes. Words to live by. Great ones, I swear.
vi. THE LIST: The list of my stories on this profile I created for you, with simpler summaries and any accomplishments they might have one, so that you don't have to scroll through bagillions of summaries.
vii. Fin- ishing statement :) (I crack myself up sometimes.)
i. Me. :)
I guess you could say I'm a nerd. I love math, books. According to super-science, Myers-Briggs, I'm an INFP, an introverted intuitive feeling perceiver, putting me in the same class as Luna Lovegood, Luke Skywalker, William Shakespeare, Jackie Kennedy, E.T., Homer, A. A. Milne, Fred Rogers, Dick Clark, Helen Keller, Annie Dillard, and Neil Diamond. That's pretty awesome, I suppose.
But I'm also pretty extroverted. I like having a little group of friends, but I also enjoy being with lots of people at parties.
I love puns. Like, it's bad.
People tell me I'm pretty funny. I think that's a plus.
I don't really care what other people think about my appearance, as long as I love the way I look.
I change every single day, and that's okay with me.
ii. My Favorite Things. Sound of Music definitely included.
My Favorite Series/Books:
1. The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel by Michael Scott (I'm sorry, this just beats Harry Potter. I literally cried for thirty minutes after I finished the last book. The whole thing is six books, each half-blood-prince sized, and takes place over a matter of days. DAYS! It combines mythology and magic and immortals and legends and...ahh!! It's honestly the greatest thing ever written ever, and too perfect to put into words, and absolutely doesn't have enough fans. So check it out!)
2. Harry Potter by JK Rowling (No explanation needed.)
3. Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson Original Five is about number 9, because I read these really late, and I felt like I didn't get the true experience because the writing was so simple, meant for early middleschoolers. But this series is amazing! I love all of the big seven, but Percy and Annabeth and Leo (LEO LEO LEO) are my favorites. And Nico is absolute perfection. It's got adventure and humor and romance and mythology, a perfect mixture, and you should read it)
4. Fault In Our Stars by John Green (This book literally breaks your heart. The message is so beautiful. And I hate being such a girl about it, but really. It's perfect.)
5. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (At first I thought I wasn't going to enjoy this, but then I read it, and I fell in love. It has such an amazing message...and the characters are SO well-developed...and it's perfect. Catching Fire is definitely the best of the three, and Mockingjay...well, it let me down a little. But the epilogue was better than the last three books combined, and it's still an incredible series.)
Favorite books I've read in school! (Because all the other ones are horrible and I loved these.)
1. Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger (Holden Caulfield is by all means considered one of the greatest characters in American literature. It's about innocence and freedom and angsty teenager-ness, and it's incredible. The metaphor, symbolism, the idea of it all. It's amazing.)
2. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (I'm sure you've all heard of it, but it's about a completely racist jury in the deep south, seen through the eyes of the defense lawyer's young daughter. An African American is wrongly accused, and you see it through her eyes. It's just an incredible story with an important message that's written perfectly.)
3. A Separate Peace by John Knowles (I actually teared up. It's about two boys at a prep school, the brawn and the brains. They become best friends, but the brains becomes jealous over time. It has a tragic ending, but it's really moving.)
4. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck (This book is legendary, and you've probably read it/will read it. But I'd read it even if I wasn't in school. It's about family and friendship and bonds greater than what can be put into words.)
5. The Outsiders by SE Hinton (Yeah, it's about a bunch of bad boys who were nice to look at when we watched the movie. I often hear girls in my grade saying this was the best book they read in school for that reason. But that's not why it was amazing. The way they all had each other's back...they were a family. And they loved each other. It's an amazing work.)
Also a huge fan of: The Mortal Insturments & Infernal Devices, Paper Towns, Percy Jackson Original Five, Crossroads, A Wrinkle in Time, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Maximum Ride until about halfway through Fang, until the very, very end, after they FAIL, but it has a really cute like last two pages, Gods of Manhattan, and many, many more.
My Favorite TV Shows:
1. Everybody Loves Raymond (It's hysterical, and if you haven't seen this show, your life is incomplete. I watch this show, and my entire day gets better.)
2. Desperate Housewives (Whoever created this snow was an absolute genius. It seamlessly combines humor and drama and romance and mystery, working around an incredibly complex plot line, each season's more interesting than the last)
3. Glee (R.I.P Cory Monteith. God bless. I'm not too much a fan now *cough* I'm giving it too much credit *cough, but the beginning seasons are really good, and I would say eighty percent of the music they cover is done really well)
4. Survivor (Yes, it's reality TV. No, I don't care. When Jeff Probst smiles, everyone smiles. He makes watching people sweat and suffer hilariously funny.)
5. How I Met Your Mother (This has been moved down two spots due to the last five minutes of the finale that made me want to barf. Currently rewriting it in a fanfic, not quite sure when I'll post, but I hated that "return of the smurf penis" ending so much I had to break my HP mold. (4/14/14). This whole thing is fantastic. Every time I watch it, I'm blown away yet again by how mindblowingly perfect it is. So funny, and the actors are all fantastic, and the way that you can go eight seasons without meeting her mother, and that in an all culminates in a highly awaited ending! Ahhh. Watch it.) (original)
Also a huge fan of: Dance Moms (Don't judge. The reality's all for show anyway, and I find the fake drama hysterical, and accompanied by the beautiful dances, it's quite nice), Friends, Frasier, Cheers, King of Queens, anything on the OLD cartoon network/Nick/Disney (Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Fairly Oddparents, DRAKE&JOSH, Sister Sister, Rugrats, Suite Life), Full House, Avatar the Last Airbender, Elementary, and Spongebob Squarepants is always going to hold a special place in my heart.
My Favorite Movies: this does not include Harry Potter, but the only one of those that would make my top five is Prisoner of Azkaban and Deathly Hallows Part 2, anyway.
1. My Cousin Vinny (So basically, the Karate Kid and his friend get arrested, and he calls in the burglar from Home Alone and his fiancé, Marisa Tomei, to fight for his case. It's hysterical, and if you haven't seen this, you need to.)
2. The Lion King (I could watch this movie over and over and over. It never get's old.)
3. Ghostbusters (Bill Murray is my idol. And I don't know where the director came up with this, but I am eternally grateful.)
4. Avatar (There's a reason it's the movie that's made the most money...ever. Fantastic to look at and to watch and I loved it.)
5. Titanic (I'm such a sucker. And a girl.)
Also a huge fan of: MEAN GIRLS, perfection = Les Miserables, Star Trek (the new ones. Call me not a faithful fan because I dislike the old ones except for the hilariousness that is George Takei, but I love the new movies and only the new movies), Star Wars, god, anything Disney, really (Frozen was fantastic.): Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, 101 Dalmatians and Lady and the Tramp I think are my fave Disneys, but there's probably way more, the Toy Stories, Forrest Gump, Evan Almighty, RENT, Blues Brothers. humpf. Every single Pixar movie, TOY STORY 3 taking the top spot. Apollo 13. A Beautiful Mind. There's way more, I swear.
My Favorite People: (In hindsight, this is probably going to look a lot like a crush list with a few girls thrown in there, but it's not too much, I promise haha). Julie Andrews, John&Hank Green and their adorable little family, Walt Disney, my friends, my family, (how cheesy was that?), Tom Felton, Tobey Maguire, DARREN CRISS, Zefron, Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo diCaprio (yeah. he's perfect.), Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Leo Valdez (no mistake there), JK Rowling, Mother Theresa, Michael Scott, George Takei, (perhaps this isn't so crush list looking), Logan Lerman, (oh, wait), Dick Van Dyke, Ralph Macchio, Joe Pesci, Anne Hathaway, Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, (FYI, there's no order to this), Ronald Reagan, Ben Franklin, Chris Pine. ELLEN (gah, she's amazing).
Is that it? Probably not.
My Favorite Music: Billy Joel. Springsteen. Joel. Taylor Swift. Joel. One Direction. Joel. Bruno Mars. Actually, I listen to just about everything except hard core rap or hard core country. But Billy Joel definitely wins. My anthem is definitely Only the Good Die Young.
My Favorite YouTubers: vlogbrothers, FineBros, TYLER OAKLEY, o2l, sawyer hartman, dailygrace, hannah hart, jack and finn, danisnotonfire, shane dawson when he's being himself, everyone in Starkid. And, like everything else, the list goes on.
A word about Tyler Oakley: this guy is actually one of the funniest people alive. He's got a bit of a dirty mouth, but I've never seen a video of his where I haven't laughed the whole time.
My Favorite Fanfictions: If you're looking for something good to read, you should read absolutely everything on my favorites list. But if I had to pick my top, in no particular order, except for the first one, because it's the greatest fanfic ever written:
Hogwarts Houses Divided by Inverarity (Seriously, folks, this needs way more readers. It's about Teddy Lupin's first year at Hogwarts, and it's written like Rowling wrote it. It's absolutely perfect, not one word out of place. I've read it eight times.) (HP)
Potters, Weasleys, and Misguided Snogging by SomewhatQuirky (HP)
The Life and Times by Jewels5 (HP)
Priori Incantatem by fellytone (HP)
The Three Lives of Luke Castellan by greenconverses (PJO)
Songs of Ice and Snow by thefireplanet (Frozen)
iii. My Groups. Places filled with awesome people :)
I, Lara1221, have challenged myself! I'm proud to be a part of the HPFC forum.
--Shoutout to the awesome friends I've made over there!
I participated in Ash's, now 's and Emma's, amazing Quidditch League Fanfiction Competition. Serious love to all my fellow Harpies from Season 2, and good luck to them this season. This time around, I'm captain of the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team for the Little Leagues. Myself and the other teams are looking for people and its loads of fun and not as huge a time commitment as the original QL, you guys should check it out! Half the teams in the full league and all four houses in the little league are looking for players. Love to all my Ravenclaw teammates!
I'm participating in the 2015 Gift Giving Extravaganza and I've loved every minute of it!
iv. My Fangirl Side
. Proceed with caution.
What I like:
I don't enjoy reading out of character writing, and I rarely read anything that's non-canon. Like, at all. I don't hate on people who do, but I don't understand how you can be a fan of what the author wrote and not sail the same ships he or she created. But hey, if you write something really, really good that's fanon, you'll definitely get credit from me.
AUs are fun, because everyone is alive, and imminent death is not a threat. It's cool because all of your favorite characters are there, in a completely different scenario.
I enjoy all genres, but I dislike non-happy endings ninety percent of the time. Like, how dare you break them up? Kill your characters off? It's one thing if it's an OC, or if the author killed her character off, but you can't just kill of Ron because you want Hermione and Draco to get together. What are you doing?! No!
Frankly, I prefer adventure/mystery/complex plot lines to mainly romantic fics, but I definitely enjoy some romance on the side. Who doesn't? Family and friendship are really special, I think, and I love to read stuff like that. But romance...I mean, I'm a girl. Who doesn't love a good rom com? Oh! Humor is probably my favorite genre. I need plot, but if it's funny, that makes it easily ten times better.
Ships I Sail:
JILY: I love they're story, and the romance, and the perfection and that he won her over and ahh!!!.
PERCABETH: These two are perfect for each other. I read that kiss in last olympian over and over and over.
NICHOLAS/PERENELLE: (secrets of flamel). You have to read to understand how amazing they are. They're just so beautiful together.
HAZEL/AUGUSTUS: (fault in our stars). I really don't think I can put that one in words.
KATNISS/PEETA: He loves her, and she grew to love him. They went through something together that no one else can understand.
MARSHALL/LILY: (how i met your mother). They're so cute. I can't.
RON/HERMIONE: I had to put another hp in there because these two are too perfect not to be deemed otp. actually, they should be higher on this list.
JACK/ROSE: (titanic). Is that really girly of me? Who cares?
TOM/LYNETTE: (desperate housewives). asdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjkl
SIMBA/NALA: (you better know where this is from). I'm so weird.
KAI/VIOLET: (hogwarts houses divided). yeah, the fanfic is that good.
MAX/FANG: just a pair of awesome avians.
FINN/RACHEL: (glee). even if you've never watched glee ever, you should give cory's tribute episode a chance. I was bawling the whole time. The music was fantastic, with Lea and the rest of the cast having killer peformances. It was an excellent farewell to someone who died far too young, with far too much life ahead of him.
THALIA/LUKE: Ugh, how did I forget them? That's why they're at the end of the list.
SHIPS: obviously, I mostly ship canon, as previously stated, but there are a few fanon couples I absolutely love.
Harry Potter: Remus/Tonks; Bill/Fleur; Harry/Ginny; Arthur/Molly; George/Angelina; Teddy/Victoire; Sirius/Marlene; Scorpius/Rose; Scorpius/Lily (Scorose in my eyes clearly wins, but if you give me a plausible reason as to why Rose would not be with Scorpius, as in SomewhatQuirky's story, then you will find yourself making me jump ship (PUNS :D)); Mercy/Dewey (hogwarts houses divided); James/Cordelia (SomewhatQuirky's story, again); Neville/Luna (rarely, VERY rarely, I much prefer Neville/Hannah and Luna/Rolf, the latter especially, they're so cute); Draco/Astoria (haha, back to canon); Ernie/Susan; Oliver/Katie; the list goes on and on.
Percy Jackson: Leo/Calypso; Frank/Hazel; Grover/Juniper; Piper/Jason; Reyna/someone (Reyna. needs. someone. not Jason. but she has to have a happy ending); Beckendorf/Silena; Travis/Katie
Hunger Games: Finnick/Annie; Gale/someone (Gale. needs. someone. too. not Katniss, but he deserves a happy ending. poor, unrequited love gale. wouldn't it be wonderful if I could ship Reyna/Gale?)
How I Met Your Mother: Ted/Mother; Barney/Robin
Mortal Instruments: Simon/Isabelle; Clary/Jace; Magnus/Alec; Jocelyn/Luke
Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel: Aoife/Niten; Abraham/Tsaglala; Virginia/Josh
Glee: Puck/Quinn; Marley/Jake (I was SO upset when Murphy broke them up so he could sing wrecking ball on the show); Kurt/Blaine; Mercedes/Sam
Maximum Ride: Iggy/Ella; Angel/StarfishDude whose name I can NEVER remember
I was just about to make a Disney category, and then I realized this page would literally never end.
THE ONES I HOPE CAPSIZE: SNILY SNILY SNILY SNILY SNILY SNILY SNILY SNILY. Snarry. Dramione. Drarry. HARMONY (they're best friends!). Dumbledore/McGonagall (he's gay! you want to make Harry gay, but Dumbledore straight! what?!) have i mentioned Snily? Wolfstar. Katniss/Gale. Ted/Lily. Finnick/Katniss. Percy/Nico. Simon/Clary. There's so many more. I ship Drapple more than I ship these.
(when I get angry, I tend to be disordlerly, so that's why fandoms were all mixed together, sorry)
So I really think that's it, because I could go on and on and on and on about my favorite characters, or my favorite magical items, or my favorite demigods, or my favorite episode of every sitcom I love, but I don't think that's necessary.
v. Quotes. Words to live by, I hope you find some advice here, or inspiration, whatever it may be. I take these to heart every day.

And, just for kicks, but none the less important:
"Livin' like Larry" -Spongebob Squarepants
(Here is a list of my stories with much simpler and craftier summaries, as well as any achievements they might have won. I like my lists like this; in my opinion, it makes everything much easier to follow. Hope you find it helpful.)
-->Here's THE DEAL: I only write HP fanfiction, because despite the number of books/movies/tv shows I've fallen in love with, I've only ever been able to find places in the HP verse where I can contribute, and I doubt I can characterize anyone else the away I do Rowling's characters. This may change in the future, but for now...
-->also: *A Note: I've made a vow to be an all canon writer.
19 Years: This is my only multi-chapter work, and the only multi-chapter I'm ever going to write. It is the first thing I ever had the desire to write, and I'm going to finish it. Watch me. It will cover everything from the end of Deathly Hallows to the epilogue. All of the canon pairings, everything Rowling has revealed. This is the project that got me started, and I am SO grateful for all the wonderful feedback I have received. The fact that I could write, being told to me by OTHER people, who I'm not related to, has really given me so much hope. I really hope you'll give it a shot. I will be working on this for a long time, and to be honest, once I'm done with it, I'll probably be done with fanfiction. This is going to take everything out of me. Uploads weekly. Last chapter is going to be uploaded September 1, 2017, mark my words.
Status: chapter 7 currently fifty percent done. final chapter count unknown.
An apology: I'm sorry for the long waits in between chapters for this. Summer is coming, and though I've made a lot of empty promises, this one's not, I swear. I will catch up and be on a regular updating schedule. I've made a vow to write at least three thousand words per day.
I'm never going to write another huge multi-chapter work, but I love exploring the rest of the fandom. All of my short stories/one-shots/drabbles take place outside the 19 year period, and all of them are written for competitions/challenges.
SHORT STORIES: These are short multi-chapters, and very rare. I do them when I really feel passionate about a subject. Each contains a different subject that I wanted to explore in length, but not to the extent of a really indepth multichap. (in chronological order)
