Author has written 1 story for Final Fantasy VIII.

Howdy. I'm Kyle and I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy and Silent Hill. You can find my main page at www.kyle-sawyer.com.

So I see that Future Bound is picking up some support. I'm really glad you guys like it and I hope you stick with me, because this is going to be a LOOONG journey. Right now, FB is planned for 58 total chapters, but the final number may be more or less than that. I wish I could get the chapters out faster, but it's actually a really long process for me. It generally takes about 10-20 hours of writing and editing per chapter before I feel that a chapter is "done." Plus the fact that I have a job and a lazy streak a mile wide. I hope you guys aren't discouraged by my slow updates and choose to stay with me as the story unfolds.

Reviews, comments, and questions always welcome and encouraged. I read them all. I'd like to talk more about the individual chapters of Future Bound, but I really dislike the idea of putting author commentary right on the chapter itself, even if it's tucked away on the bottom. It just seems... ugly to me, I guess. So I talk more about my stuff on my website. Come visit me and chat. I'd love to know more about my readers.

Thanks for reading!

It's over. I've written the words "The End" at the bottom of the final page, uploaded the last chapter to both my website and here, and clicked the little button to mark this story as "Complete" rather than "In Progress." It's over.

I started actively writing Future Bound about two years ago, but the original idea came to me over five years ago. This has been something that has been in my head for a very long time, and for the past two years, I spent almost every day either writing or thinking about this story. I've never dedicated myself to a project of this magnitude before and I'm glad I got so much help and support along the way from you guys. I honestly never would have finished it if it weren't for all your comments and private messages encouraging me every chapter. Thank you all.

And now it's done. So what's next?

At the moment, I have no plans for a sequel or a continuation of any kind. I feel like I've just run a marathon and the last thing I want to think about right now is running another. Perhaps, with time and distance, my opinions will change and I'll revisit the world of FF8, but at this moment, I sincerely doubt that I will. I know I've been getting a lot of praise for my characterizations and my understanding of the FF8 cast, but I've never felt totally comfortable with them. They've always felt like someone else's characters to me and, rather than understanding them, I feel as though I have only been able to do my own versions of them. I want to work on characters and worlds that are completely my own, that I understand fully. So for the foreseeable future, I will be staying away from writing fanfiction and instead focusing on original projects. If you're at all curious about what I'm up to, you can visit me at my website (link at the top).

But that doesn't mean that I'm completely abandoning this place. I know I've made mistakes, plot holes, continuity errors, and general muck ups. Even though I don't intend to go back and fix every mistake, I'd still like to know what I did wrong so I can avoid doing it in the future. So if you see something that looks wrong, feel free to message me. Also, I'd like to still hang around to talk about this story, other stories, or writing in general. I respond to just about all my messages, so come talk to me about whatever.

Again, all the thanks in the world to my loyal and awesome readers. I hope my silly little fanfiction was what you were looking for.
